Chapter 24

~Narrator's P.O.V~

The trio of kidnappers were standing in Laughing Jack's carnival, said clown holding a shaken and confused (Y/N). He looked around for a moment, making sure they were safe, before he started walking down his long row of stalls.

The other two followed silently, with the exception of one ticking now and then. Not a word was said, not between the three murderers. Nothing needed to be said, they did their job and reached their goal, now they'll go back to hardly communicating, only to talking now and then.

Of course the two humans stood as close to the clown as they possibly could, both feeling uncomfortable in his realm, and did their best to ignore the wails of the hanging dolls.

"Where are we...?" The female asked quietly, looking around the area, "Why are those toys crying?"

Jack sighed, "I have a lot of explaining to do..."

The human turned her (e/c) gaze up to his, tilting her head, "Why?"

It was silent for a moment.

"Those... Are my victims... Whenever I kill a child in your world, I take their soul and bring it here in the form of a doll. It keeps me company when I'm here, and the more dolls, the more fun this place looks." He let out a little chuckle, before falling silent.

The girl stared up at the clown, her eyes wide. This guy killed children? What did she have to do with him? She didn't help him, did she? Why was a crazed murderer like himself in her life?

-The scary clown- She thought, a flash of memory coming back to her, -This must have been him, but why did I end up in a hospital and not the prison?-

"So..." She started slowly, "You are real then...?"

"I always was."

"Then why did they not seem to believe that?"

"I'm invisible to the naked eye, until I show myself or kill someone." The clown shrugged, "I showed myself to you, tried to kill you, but I'm over that now. I prefer killing younger people."

"O-Oh..." She lowered her gaze. He tried to kill her?! So why was he saving her now? And why was her chest aching so badly?

She held a fist to her chest, only just realising the ache, a feeling she couldn't describe, like she wanted to remember but something was stopping her.

"How long was I there for...?" She asked, "The hospital..."

"A few days."

"You didn't get me sooner?"

He glanced down at her again, seeing her eyes shining and her hand resting against her torso, "No..."

"Why not?"

"I didn't know where you were..." He sighed, "I looked everywhere I could, and I couldn't find you, not until it was.. Too late."

"Too late?"

"Y-Yo-our me-memor-ry..." Toby piped up from behind them, "Y-You and Lau-Laughing Jack whe-ere clo-ose."

"Close? How close?"

"Very close." Jeff chuckled, "Inseparable."

"Don't lie." Jack grunted, "We were friends (Y/N), I was staying with you the past few months, at first I was aiming to kill you, since you had witnessed another murder, but after Slenderman attacked you, and you helped me, I guess I just realised how alone you were."

"I see..." The human lowered her head, "So... We're just friends then?"

"More or less." The clown shrugged, "But I was really worried when your house burnt down, I couldn't find you, and I guess I realised..."

He stopped, shaking his head with a sigh, "The last time my appearance changed was for Isaac..."

"Isaac?"

Laughing Jack frowned, before turning to a booth full of dolls, "Finally. You're going to live with me now, okay?"

"O-Okay..." She stared at the stall, before Jack walked through it.

Once the darkness of the stall walls faded, (Y/N) picked up on the trees. They were surrounded by trees, it looked like it was some sort of forest. Toby walked out from behind the clown, staring off into the distance, before flinching and lowering his head,

"C-Consp-piracies...? ..I-I nee-ed to g-go..." He mumbled, "G-Good lu-uck with her L-LJ..."

Jack nodded, before watching the ticking boy walk into the trees, his twitching form disappearing into the fog.

"Where is he going?" (Y/N) asked.

"Off to kill some conspiracy theorists by the sounds of it." Jeff chuckled, "Probably another fan of Slenderman, it's surprising how many people like that asshole."

"You mentioned him before... Slenderman, who is he?"

"That would be me."

(Y/N) jumped, the voice loud and sounding close. Looking around, she saw a tall man in a suit, standing as tall, if not taller than Laughing Jack. She tilted her head at his appearance, how familiar it was, and why she had the sudden urge to sleep was strange to her.

"Welcome to my mansion (Y/N)." He said, his voice seeming to be inside the female's head, making her shake it slightly, "I have prepared a room for you to stay in, and informed the others of the new arrival. They are not to harm you in any way, if they do so, you will report it to me."

"O-Oh, thank you...?" She raised her gaze, trying to see his face. All she could see was pale white skin, no features at all, and a static seemed to surround him.

The creature gave a nod, "Thank Laughing Jack. He organised it. Your room can be found on floor three, down the right corridor, the last door on the end."

Jack nodded and the other being disappeared. The silence of the forest surrounded the three-remaining people, and Jeff huffed, shoving his hands in his pockets,

"I'm going to watch TV, hopefully Sally hasn't taken over and put those lame children's shows on..." He walked off, disappearing into the run-down looking two storey house.

"Sally...?"

"Some little girl, she was annoying me earlier..." Jack sighed, before walking towards the house.

"Didn't Slenderman say floor 3? How can there be a floor 3?" (Y/N) asked, looking up at the ruined house.

The clown smiled, before ducking through the front door and into the lush entrance of the mansion. The female's eyes widened at the large room, clearly taken back by the golds and reds.

"I thought..."

"Yeah, I was confused at first too, but I think the outside look is to confuse wandering humans from finding this place, assuming humans wander out this far." Jack stated, taking to the stairs and walking up to the third floor, "Which corridor was it?"

"The right one." (Y/N) pointed, "The end room I think he said."

"I'm sure my name will already be on the door." Laughing Jack stated, before starting down the long hall of never ending doors. Now that he was in a better mood, he realised just how similar it was to his carnival.

Finally reaching the end of the hall, Jack saw a red door with golden letters stuck on the front, reading his name.

"Fancy..." (Y/N) mumbled.

"Yeah, a little too fancy for my liking, I'll change it when I have the time." Laughing Jack shrugged, going to open the door. With the touch of his clawed hand, the door changed, rotting to a dark grey, the letters spelling his name turned rusty and hung messily. The clown blinked, before a smirk curled onto his face,

"Or... It will change itself."

"Whoa..."

Swinging the door open with a creek, the clown walked into the room. It was a small room, simple, with red and gold wallpaper (similar to the hall outside) and a dark wooden floor. The singular bed was draped in royal reds and blacks, the material shiny and most likely satin. There was one dark wooden dresser in the far corner with a mirror sitting in front of it, and a wooden bedside table of the same colour that held a simple lamp and clock.

"Jeez... You'd think Slenderman's favourite colours were red and gold..." Jack stated, sitting (Y/N) on the bed, "It looks nice, but after a while my eyes hurt."

"It looks expensive." (Y/N) stated, feeling the sheets of the bed, "So... I'm staying here?"

"If you want. I didn't really give you an option though..." Jack crouched in front of her, "Look (Y/N)... If you're upset about losing your memory... I'm sorry, I tried finding you sooner."

The girl stared at him, before looking around the room, "I'm sure my memories will come back to me. And... If they don't, I can always make new ones... Right?"

"That's the best way of thinking about it.." The clown smiled, "If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to be apart of that."

"I don't think you have a choice." The human smiled back, before sighing, "We must have been good friends... I just feel so bad for not remembering you, it's aching really..."

"Aching? What do you mean?" Jack tilted his head.

"I mean... I must know you... Because when I look at you I get this ache in my chest, as if..." She sighed, before pulling her knees to her chest, "It's stupid..."

"Lots of things are stupid, but you can still tell me." He sat back, resting a long arm on his knee, "What is stupid?"

"I don't know... I feel like I have some sort of feelings for you, but I don't remember what they were.."

"Feelings...?"

"I just said I don't remember what they were."

"Right, well if it helps, this ache you are describing feels like the ache I had when I couldn't find you. I had thought you left me in a way, and that hurt like hell. I guess I know what that ache is, but it's not something I wish to dwell on."

(Y/N) raised her gaze to him, "How close were we...?"

"It's hard to say, we'd only really been proper friends for about a month..."

"Oh... Okay..." (Y/N) let out a yawn, before laying on her side, "Well... If that's all we were, then maybe this ache is just an ache for everything else I've forgotten... But I could swear I have feelings for you... Murderer or not..."

The clown froze, before glancing at the small human's tired form, "You do..?"

"Yeah... What else could it be...?" She sighed.

The clown smiled, before patting her head, "Well, if you say so. We'll talk more about it tomorrow okay? You should sleep."

(Y/N) nodded, before curling up and closing her eyes. Jack sat there a while longer, carefully running his claws through her hair. If what she said was true, then the heavy feeling disappearing from his stomach is filled with relief.

Standing slowly, the clown tucked the girl under the sheets, before planting a small kiss on her temple. He walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.

-I hope she gets her memories back... Not that it matters anymore-

Heya My Little Creepypastas! A few things. Firstly, I completely forgot to explain why the doctor was a dick in the last chapter, with making you lose your memory and such. However I have found a place to explain it in the next one! Yay me!

Secondly. If you spam me with comments I will mute you :)
And by spam I mean like, 7 comments on the same chapter. In under an hour. That kind of spam.
I don't mind a comment or two every chapter, but if you insist on repeatedly commenting on every little detail in one freaking chapter, I will simply make it so you can only read.
Don't take it too personally, unless you know you're at fault.
I hate spamming, it's one of my many pet peeves. And yeah my notifications are off but the emails... Oh Gods the emails... And the needless scrolling through my newsfeed and trying to read every single comment. (I can't skip a single one, it's a curse or something)
Hopefully you  all understand. Well, the ones I mute anyway.

RJ Out!!! (RJ is my Creepypasta OC)
