Chapter 5

"CATS GATHER HERE TODAY CAUSE I SAID SO AND I HAVE VERY IMPORTANT NEWS!" Raisinstar yowled. Larrypaw quickly for to his pass and ran out of the den, flying softly to the ground to watch his mother lead.
"I SEE EVERYONE HAS GATHERED IN THE TWO SECONDS I GAVE YOU GUYS TO GATHER, SO THANKS. ANYWAYS," Penciltail stepped up and whispered something in his mates ear. She started to talk more quietly. "Anyways, we will be attacking RiverClan today! I noticed that we have not attacked them yet, and that it might be a good idea to do exactly that. So . . . Yah, I'll take everyone. I'm sure Fabuloustail and the elders can fight, can't they?"
A choked gasp came from then sickly queen. "I can't fight. I'm not coming."
"Ok, fine, I won't take you. Or the elders. Everyone else come!" The purple leader leapt down the giant boulder that her house sat on and began to lead the way out of camp.
Larrypaw had no choice, but to follow. Beautypaw whispered calmly to Problempaw. "Don't mess this up," she hissed.  "You mess everything up. Just don't mess this up."
Problempaw nodded along but then stopped. "Wait. Is it just me, or did you just ask me to complete an impossible task?"
Doodlepaw walked alongside the two apprentices while sketching a beautiful drawing of- wait was that Larrypaw? No. It wasn't. It was Doodlepaw herself. Doodlepaw looked up and twirled her pencil in her claws. "Uhm, guys, look. Can you please stop arguing, like seriously. I can't even draw!" She held the picture up and Larrypaw realized how mangled the sketch really was.
Happypaw bounced beside Doodlepaw. "Can I hold your pencil?" She kept repeating. Doodlepaw ignored her and put the pencil away in her back pocket.
Larrypaw stared attentively ahead at the group of moving battalions but suddenly, Bopaw appeared. "Larrypaw how do you manage to do this every time? You ruin my life over and over again everyday! It's miserable."
I think all of my sisters have mental problems. And maybe both my parents. And maybe even possibly me.
Larrypaw began to realise that his family was all walking together. Penciltail was calmly walking closer and closer to Larrypaw. It was starting to get scary. The dull brown tom looked very happy. That was not a good thing.
Larrypaw scrambled away from his family and edged his way out of the group of cats.
Raisinstar came along with her purple fur sticking up along her head. "Don't screw up," she said to all nine of his sisters. Then she turned to Larrypaw. "And you . . . Just please try not to kill a ThunderClan warrior."
Suddenly, Larrypaw thought of Shadymaple. I haven't seen her in a while. I really want to, though. I wonder if I'll see her later when I go to sleep?
Crazytail stiffly walked ahead, her tail perked up and her ears flattened. "I can smell them."
Raisinstar rolled her bright purple eyes. "No duh, mentor, were only right beside the border."
Crazytail twitched the tip of her tail, then crook her jaw open. "I wonder if that had anything to do with the smell?"
Larrypaw could not believe that this was his mentor. Like, seriously, was Crazytail a demented mouse? She should know exactly why it smelled like RiverClan.
As Larrypaw was lost in the conversation and his thoughts, Penciltail snuck up on him. "BOO!" The tom yowled right in his ear.
Larrypaw jumped a straight tree-length into the air and shrieked as he came back down. "Dad, why the heck did you do that? You're so mean! Go away!"
"I'm sorry, son, but you were running away earlier. I needed to do that or else you would have just ran away again!"
"Darn right I would!" Larrypaw meowed, closing his eyes and slowly shaking his head. "Then I wouldn't have to deal with this." He gestures to his father.
"Ooooh, RiverClan camp!" Penciltail suddenly jumped and skipped with happiness.
Larrypaw frowned. RiverClan smelled quite fishy. This would be a long battle.
