Chapter 9

A night later, Keith watches Lance crouch down in a small stream as a centaur filly shyly approaches him with a bouquet of flowers and Lance takes the flowers and says "That's very sweet of you" just then, mud was suddenly splattered all over him as he turns around and sees two fauns sheepishly shrugging but instead of being mad, Lance picks up some mud and throws it back at them. A mud fight broke out soon and Keith just sat on a giant branch watching them until some of the mud hit his face causing Shiro to laugh at him until Keith waves his hand and sends a bunch of mud right at Shiro's face but while Keith sees Lance having fun with the creatures of the Moors, he couldn't help but not ignore this feeling. It was remorse not only for his actions but also the suffering he imposed on the innocent boy

Back in the cottage, Lance was clean from the mud thrown at him and sleeping in his bed while Keith uses his magic to tuck him in. He couldn't help but stare at the young boy. He didn't mean to curse him, he only wanted Lotor to suffer just like when he did when he lost his wings. Keith realized he couldn't take it anymore and whispers "I revoke the curse. Let it be no more" Red magic flows from his hands as he repeats "I revoke the curse. Let it be no more" the curse began to fall out of Lance's body but it was still stuck to him as Keith lets out tears of more remorse, spreads his arms wider while using more of his magic and yells "I REVOKE MY CURSE! LET IT BE NO MORE! I REVOKE MY CURSE LET IT BE NO MORE! LET IT BE MORE" Red magic exploded throughout the room and the curse floated back into Lance's body as Keith hears a voice whisper "This curse will last till the end of time. No power on Earth can change it" Keith knew he couldn't undo his curse because he already said the only way to break was True Love's Kiss so instead, he tucked a strand of hair from Lance's face and kisses him on the forehead as he whispers "Good night, beasty"

Meanwhile in the castle, Lotor didn't eat enough nor sleep enough which worried Allura greatly but Lotor didn't seem to care as he was in his room staring at Keith's wings and accuses "You mock me. I know what you're doing. I know exactly what you're doing" a servant arrives and states "Sire, your presence has been requested by the Queen" Lotor says "Leave me" the servant states "Sire, it is important" Lotor hushes the servant and asks "Can't you see we're having a conversation?" the servant recoils in shock and leaves as Lotor smirks "When the curse fails, Keith will come for me and I will be ready" the servant approaches Allura and says "He couldn't leave his room" Allura asks "Again?" the servant shakes his head as Allura states "I don't know what's gotten into our friend. He was kind and brave once but now he's as cruel and cold as Lotor" the servant asks "And what will you do?" Allura replies "I'm going to find out why"

The next night, Lance was admiring the fairies in the Moors while Keith watched him with regret. He wanted so badly to end the curse but he couldn't do it with his magic but he didn't notice Lance walking towards him and when the boy asks "Do all Fair People have wings", Keith replies "Most do" Lance asks "Then why don't you have any? All the other fairies fly" Keith sadly answers "I had wings once but they were stolen. That's all I wish to know about" Lance asks "What color were they? Were they big?" Keith replies "So big they dragged behind me when I walked and they were strong. They could carry me above the clouds and into the headwinds and they never faltered not even once. I could trust them" Lance places a comforting hand on Keith's shoulder as Lance says "I wish there was something I could do to get them back" Keith smiles and says "Keep holding onto that wish. It's sure to come true someday"

Meanwhile in the castle Lotor was haunted by Keith's agonizing scream and wakes up as he whispers "He's coming. He's coming" Lotor barges in one of the servant's quarters and throws water at one of the blacksmiths and yells "Wake up" and asks "Where are your workers?" the blacksmith replies "In their beds, Your Majesty" Lotor argues "Get them back to work without delay" the blacksmith protests "They're exhausted, sire but I'll have them back to work at first light" Lotor yells "I need them back to work now" the blacksmith retorts "It's the wee hours" Lotor agrees "Yes, yes, it is the wee hours so wake them up" the blacksmith asks "Sire?" Lotor angrily replies "So wake them up and get them back to work now! We're running out of time! Go, now" the blacksmith does as he's told while Lotor leaves to go to his room only to find Allura there staring at him with a heartbroken look

Lotor demands "Allura, what are you doing here?" Allura only asks "How could you? You stole his wings?" Lotor replies "He attacked Zarkon who was dying which was an opportunity I had to take" Allura argues "But you hurt Keith and in return, he cursed our son because of that" Lotor retorts "I did what I did because I had to" and asks "Why can't you understand?" Allura replies "Because what you have done is evil" Lotor asks "You think I'm evil?" Allura says nothing as Lotor yells "I am justice! I protect the innocent and those who fear evil! I'm the one who will save our son from that wicked fairy! All those who side with him, they are the ones who are truly evil" and asks "Do you side with him, wife of mine?" Allura, frightened, answers "No, I would never side with Keith" Lotor sneers "That's what I thought" Lotor leaves as Allura fears for not only her son's life but also Keith's life
