Back in the castle, Zarkon was lying on his bed, wounded because of the battle with Keith and surrounded by soldiers as he says "When I ascended the throne, I promised the people that we would one day take the Moors and its treasures. Each of you swore allegiance to me and to that cause" Lotor, now 24, was lighting the candles while listening to the conversation as Zarkon says "Defeated in battle. Is this to be my legacy? I see you waiting for me to die. It won't be long but what then? I will choose a successor to take the throne. Who among you is worthy? Kill the winged creature. Avenge me and upon my death, you will take the crown" this of course peaked the interest of the men around the bed as well as Lotor

Lotor approaches the edge of the Moors while standing in the same spot he always did when he and Allura visited Keith as he yells "Keith! Keith" he sighs in defeat and was about to leave when Keith lands behind him as Lotor turns around and Keith asks "So how's life with the humans?" Lotor replies "Keith, I've come to warn you. They mean to kill you. King Zarkon will stop at nothing. Please, you have to trust me" they spoke of many things and the years faded away. Keith forgave Lotor for his folly and ambition and all was as it had been long ago. Lotor opens up a flask of water and asks "Thirsty?" Keith takes the water and answers "Thanks". A few seconds later, Keith started to feel tired and all of a sudden, started falling asleep as he lies back on the grass while Lotor carefully knelt down beside him and whispers "Keith? Keith" Lotor takes out a small dagger from his bag and tries to aim for the heart but he couldn't bring himself to kill his best friend so he throws the dagger aside and starts touching Keith's wings and realized that if he can't kill Keith, he would have to do something else so he pulled out some iron chains from his bag

The next morning, Keith woke up to a jarring pain on his back as he groans and places a hand on his shoulders when he felt something not quite right and when he turns around, his wings were gone because they had been cut off. Keith feels tears pour out of his eyes as he let out cries of pain and agony and clutches his back. Meanwhile, Lotor hears Keith's continuous screams and leaves with the wings that are wrapped up. Keith stopped his yelling and started sobbing. Back at the castle, Lotor carried the large wings and dropped them onto the bed as Zarkon wakes up and asks "What is this?" Lotor undoes the ropes that held the cloth wrapped around the wings and pulled the cloth and ropes away as Lotor states "I have avenged you, sire" Zarkon asks "He is vanquished?" Lotor nods as Zarkon says "You have done well, my son. You have done what others feared to do. You will be rewarded" Lotor maliciously smirks "I shall do my best to be worthy successor"

Meanwhile, in the Moors, Keith slowly attempts to pull himself from the ground. He hunches over as he stands while breathing heavily. He noticed some twigs on the ground so he bent down to pick one up. Red mist surrounded the twig, transforming it into a large wooden staff with a red jewel on top. Keith uses the staff to steady himself as he walks through the forest and he walked until he stopped at an old ruins of an abandoned castle as he sits down when night came and he saw a black raven with a white crest on its forehead landing on the rubble and the bird was crawling at him until Keith blows and uses his magic to create a breeze causing the bird to fly away. The next morning, Keith finds himself hiding behind the grass while watching the raven he saw under a net and a man laughs "I got you now! You wicked bird" Keith uses his magic and says "Into a man" the raven starts transforming into a man with a scar on his nose from the man who attacked him so the man who caught the bird runs away and screams "It's a demon" Keith approaches the man-shaped bird who asks "What have you done to my beautiful self?"

Keith asks "Would you rather I let them beat you to death?" the man-shaped bird replies "I'm not sure" Keith states "Stop complaining. I saved your life" The man looks down and says "Forgive me" Keith asks "What do I call you?" the man answers "Shiro and in return for saving my life, I am your servant. Whatever you need" Keith says "Wings. I need you to be my wings"
