The weekend. The perfect opportunity to get Kevin out and enjoy the sun. Except it was raining. Still, they could find something to do outside.

Eric ate breakfast with the Moons, it going by with no conversation. It was a step up from when he first got here. Kevin would be on the offensive and Mr Moon barely blocking his attacks. It was nice seeing them being able to stay in the same room without an argument forming.

"Kevin."

He spoke too soon. Eric worriedly looked between them, hoping they wouldn't argue.

"Yes?"

"I'm going to visit your mother today. I feel there are things left unsaid between us. So I will be out for quite some time today. Do you want to eat out or are you planning to cook?"

"Eat out."

Mr Moon took out his wallet, handing Kevin a few notes. Kevin pocketed them, no further conversation passing between the two of them. Eric smiled, glad to see they had a conversation minus the arguing.

Mr Moon eventually left, leaving the two of them at home. Kevin was comfortable watching a TV show on a streaming platform. He was tempted to join him but his initial plan couldn't go to waste.

"Kevin, let's hangout outside!"

"But it's raining."

"We can do... something. Don't you want to get some air?"

"Not when it's raining."

What happened to the adventurous Kevin who'd run out into the rain and get soaked? And this definitely wasn't a ploy to see Kevin wet with his clothes clinging to him. Not that he wouldn't mind. Eric pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on getting Kevin to go out with him. Kevin finally caved, Eric happily leading him outside.

The two walked side by side, each with their own umbrella.

"Now what?" questioned Kevin.

A question Eric didn't have the answer to. He started to panic, hoping Kevin wouldn't turn around and head home.

"Uh, oh! There! The... game store."

Eric could feel Kevin staring hard at him as he marched forward. They entered the store, seeing an array of games ranging from limited edition playing cards to the latest console games. Huh. Was this place always here?

"Welcome! Need any help?"

"Not yet, just browsing."

Eric led Kevin, heading for their childhood console section.

"Look! It's Tario Cart! I always took first place, heh."

"They also have Blowup Guy. You sucked at placing bombs."

"H- Hey! My character was laggy."

"Every time?" smirked Kevin.

Eric puffed out his cheeks, crossing his arms. Kevin smiled sweetly, melting his heart. He desperately wanted to see Kevin smiling again. They continued to find more games they played before hearing a loud clap of thunder.

"It's a thunder storm..." mumbled Kevin, his gaze quickly turning to Eric.

He was fine. So he grew out of it. Kevin moved over to the knick knacks, Eric following in silence.

"Oh, they have a little Bond figure. You like Bond from The Saga of Yuthie, right?" Kevin asked, picking up the Thighrulian hero.

Eric nodded in silence. Kevin raised a brow but didn't say anything. Kevin found another character Eric liked, showing it to him. Another silent nod.

"You're still afraid, aren't you?"

Eric shook his head, still mute. Kevin placed the figures back, leading Eric outside. Thunder continued to clap around them, Kevin holding Eric close as they shared an umbrella. Lighting flashed in the sky, others outside quickening their pace. A loud clap of thunder sounded, earning a terrified yelp from Eric and sending him cowering.

"Eric, take my hand."

It took a moment before their hands were joined. Kevin squished Eric as close as he could to himself, hurrying home. Once they reached the safety of his home, Kevin was quick to grab his headphones, placing them on Eric's head and proceeding to play music.

He led Eric to his room, having him get comfortable in bed. The headphones were blocking out the thunderstorm well. He really thought Eric had gotten over it, but it seemed he learned to deal with it differently than in the past.

It took hours for the thunderstorm to subside, Kevin finally releasing Eric from his melodic prison.

"Still scared, huh?"

"Yeah... Today was supposed to be fun but I ruined it..." sighed Eric.

"That's why I was pushing so hard to stay in. I worried you were still afraid. But since you kept insisting I figured you already knew the weather and got over it."

Not in the slightest. That was one thing that was difficult to overcome.

"Haaa... I really fucked up big time."

"We can still do fun things at home. Wanna binge videos?"

"Of course!"

The two huddled together, enjoying the video and atmosphere. Their bodies slowly moved closer to the other, soon their shoulders touching. The video finished, both turning to speak to the other. They stared in silence, both panicking at the close proximity. Eric backed away first, busying himself on his phone. Why was he blushing? This was such bad timing for that!

"Hey, Eric."

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever had a crush on someone?"

"Yeah. You?"

"Yeah."

It seemed neither wanted to press on the matter. That was fine. It would be fairly insane to hear that out of all crushes, his crush on Kevin has lasted this long. Plus, Kevin wasn't in a good place, so not a great time to start a relationship.

"Have you ever dated one of them?"

"One or two. You?"

"Same."

It was becoming obvious they were avoiding a certain question. Now was a good time as any to ask that other question.

"Are you obsessed with me?"

Silence. Eric turned, seeing Kevin rolling the thought around. He understood, it was a loaded question after all.

"I might be."

At least he was honest about it. Most would get defensive or try changing the topic.

"How did it even happen?"

"I don't know. Suddenly you were constantly on my mind, what I would care most about." explained Kevin with a sigh. "I wanted to be with you."

"In my opinion, it sounds like love to me."

"You think so?"

"I feel so."

Eric leaned forward, connecting their lips. Kevin eased into it, his hand finding Eric's. They pulled apart, Eric searching his face for a reaction. Kevin was all smiles.

"I've liked you for a long while, Kevin. But, I want to wait before starting anything. I want you to get better first."

Kevin nodded, pecking his lips.

"I like you too. Weird quirks and all."

Eric playfully pushed him, receiving a love filled tackle in response. The day didn't go as planned, but it was a day he was going to remember for years.

Mr Moon arrived home, seeing the place was still in one piece. No wild party it seemed. The dishes were clean and no new messes or spills. He peeked into Kevin's room, seeing the two asleep in a tangled mess.

"They've gotten so big..." he whispered, a gentle smile appearing on his face. "I'll earn your trust again, Kevin. Even if it kills me."

Mr Moon quietly closed the door, heading to his room to sleep.
