TRIGGER WARNINGS: A FREAKING SCYTHE, YELLING, CRYING, SCREAMING IN PAIN, BLOOD, STABBING
(i just realized that i left cap locks on whoops)
Please read the AN at the end. It's important for this book.
"Would you like to test that theory?!"
Virgil backed up as Patton summoned his weapon. The weapon was a sleek, long scythe with a light blue handle. Virgil noticed the light heart imprints on the handle in a spiral. Virgil would have started to marvel at the amazing weapon if it weren't for the fact that the loving side was coming at him with it in hand.
Thomas shot up out of his seat and got in between the two, "Woah woah woah! This is going a bit far!"
Patton moved his hand a bit to the side and Thomas was flung against the pile of stuffed animals, "Stay out of this Thomas. I'm getting rid of a parasite."
Virgil had backed up to the far corner that he was in earlier, Patton still advancing on him.
"Isn't that what you are? A side that lives in a host and survives by ruining the hosts life?"
Virgil was crying at this point. The other sides came into the room. Remy and Emile were checking on Thomas while the core sides went to confront Patton, "Patton stop!"
Patton put a barrier in between him and the four sides trying to stop him.
"Patton, g-get away!" Virgil yelled, he was cornered. Nowhere to go.
Patton smiled. It was a sick smile, a scary one. Almost insane like.
"Don 't worry kiddo, it will only hurt for a second."
Patton brought the scythe down hard and fast. Virgil brought his hands up to protect himself, although it was a fruitless attempt. The scythe plunged itself into Virgil's shoulder. Virgil screamed in pain, but Patton continued and pulled the scythe down towards Virgil's chest.
Patton looked back for a second. Logan was shocked. Roman and Remus were both crying, so was Janus. Remy and Emile were holding Thomas back from running up and ramming himself into the barrier. "YOURE GONNA KILL HIM!" Thomas yelled, tears streaming down his face.
Patton pulled the scythe back and dropped up. Blood sloshed around as it poured out of the youngest side. Said side was writhing and screaming in pain. Patton then realized just what he had done. Patton pulled both hands up to his mouth to stop a scream of sadness and anguish.
After about 30 seconds more of Virgil's screaming.
Of Thomas' sobbing.
Of Logan's calculating look.
Of Roman's shocked tears.
Of Remus' confused glare.
Of Janus' tears of anguish.
Of Emile's soft sobbing.
Of Remy's attempt of comforting Emile.
Of Patton's frozen expression.
A bright light enveloped Virgil's body. The light blinded everyone, forcing them to close their eyes or look away. When the light was gone, everyone looked back. Where they thought they would see the bloody scene of their dead friend, there was no blood, no body. There was no evidence from the scene. The only evidence that a crime had been committed was the two children.
"No..." Janus whispered.
Patton dropped the barrier and Thomas ran forward. He ran towards the two kids. The one in orange stood in front of the other in a fighting position before lowering his hands, "Thomas?"
Everyone was shocked. "Guys what's going on?!" Thomas exclaimed.
The two children stood side by side and they were now easily seen.
The one on the left had messy hair and multiple bandages littered over his body along with bruises. He wore a sleeveless black jacket with an orange hood and orange lined pockets. His hands were covered by plain black, fingerless gloves. He wore dull blue ripped jeans and a pair of orange converse.
The one of the right was strangely female. Her most noticeable trait was her cat ears and tail that blended in with her hair. Her long hair was pulled back in a high ponytail with a purple scrunchie. She wore large oversized hoodie that was an ombre from white to purple, it covered the majority of her black nike shorts she wore underneath her outfit and it completely covered her hands. She also had black stockings and a purple pair of converse.
The two children were holding hands and standing close together.
Janus wiped away his tears and put a smile on his face. He walked over and pulled Patton a bit away, who had been frozen in place the whole time. Thomas also moved a bit back to give them space.
Janus walked over and crouched down to the pair. The male pulled the girl behind him, "Hello! Who are you?" Janus noticed the one missing tooth.
"How do you know Thomas?" Janus asked with a smile. It was obvious as to why they knew Thomas, but Janus wanted to know if they knew.
"We are his sides?" The boy muttered questionably.
"Do you know what you represent?" Janus asked, a kind smile still on his face. No one knew how kind Janus could be with children other than Patton, Remus, and Virgil.
"Does that mean what we are?" The girl timidly asked. Janus nodded.
"I'm fight, she's flight. Thomas is our host I guess... Are you one of Thomas' sides as well?" The boy, Fight, asked.
Janus' eyes widened and he looked back at Logan. It seems that Logan had the same thought, Fight or Flight instinct.
Janus looked back at the children, "Yes. I am Deceit, or you can call me Janus."
The children nodded, then looked over at Thomas who had been watching them with intent. The little girl glanced at her brother who looked hesitant but nodded. She took her hand away from his and inched from behind him, once out from behind him she glanced around. Once she determined that the coast was clear, she quickly ran over to Thomas and sat beside him, "Hi..."
Thomas smiled, "Hello, Flight was it?"
The little girl smiled and nodded. The little boy rolled his eyes and walked over to Thomas as well. The little boy sat next to his sister and started a conversation with her about Janus and how he 'may not be trustworthy.'
Thomas smiled and laughed. He reassured that Janus is trustworthy.
No one noticed that Patton had gotten up and walked over to the two children. He reached out towards the little boy who noticed last second.
Fight grabbed Patton's arm and pulled it back. He pinned Patton to the ground with his arm locked behind his back. Collective gasps were heard around the room. Thomas almost laughed, but didn't, "Fight, let him go!"
"He could have hurt us! He could have hurt you! He could have hurt Flight!"
"I know, but let's let that prince dude take care of him, okay? Come with Janus and I, we are going to go find your rooms. Does that sound nice? Finding your rooms?"
Fight looked inbetween Thomas, Flight, Janus, and then back to Thomas.
Fight sighed and let Patton up. He pushed Patton towards the guy dressed in white, "Fine."
Janus, Thomas, and the two new sides all got up and left the room. The remaining sides were left in shock. Roman was the first to break out of his shock. He grabbed Patton by the back of his shirt and threw him towards the pile of stuffed animals. Roman, Logan, Remus, Remy, and Emile all gathered around him.
"What the holy fuck was that?!" Remus nearly screamed.
"That was a... split... like what happened to the original Creativity," Logan muttered. Remus and Roman were shell shocked. Patton has started to cry. He started to whisper apologies again and again.
Emile sighed, "The Girl, Flight I believe she called herself, why is she a girl? A girl with cat eats and a tail at that?"
"I... don't know... The only instance we have of a split is Creativity and this didn't happen then. It could be because of the way Thomas sees the fight of flight response. Fight would be seen as a tough guy who gets into trouble where as Flight would be seen as a 'damsel in distress.' As for her catlike qualities, I have no clue," Logan said.
"Could it be the same reason Snake boi has scales and I have tentacles?" Remy asked.
"Possibly. It is proven that animals with a tail have increased balance. That could contribute to her being Flight, along with her ears. Her ears give her heightened sense of hearing. I wouldn't be surprised if she also has increased sight and smell," Logan said.
"So is Virgil gone? Like forever?" Roman asked.
"I'm afraid so. Remember when Steven Universe came out with fusions? You and Remus had tried and tried to fuse to make Creativity, however you couldn't get it right," Emile said.
"That doesn't mean we can't try!" Remus nearly shouted. A silence fell over the crowd.
"Do you think Anxiety as a whole is gone?" Remy asked.
"No. I think it was split up according to what traits of Anxiety fit the fight or flight response. They both most likely have the insecurities part of it, along with the reflex. Fight might have more foresight than Flight and Flight might look more on the past than the future. It all checks out. Fight would look more into the future because he needs to plan before he acts. Flight would be more focused on the past because she most likely wouldn't care where she if going, just running away from a situation," Logan said.
They all stood in silence while they let that sink in. Janus knocked on the door and poked his head in, "Hey, uh we found the children's rooms, or room I guess. Uh they are watching The Dragon Prince on the TV right now if you guys want to try and warm up to them."
They all nodded. "What do we do with him?" Roman asked, malice and hate in his voice.
Patton whimpered and continued to whisper his apologies.
"We can't leave him alone. Bring him with us. Just keep him away from the kids." Janus decided.
Here's where y'all come in. You have the ability to decide which way this book goes.
Do they-
Forgive Patton because everyone deserves second chances and it was an accident, an in the moment type thing
Or
Refuse to forgive him because he basically killed their best friend
Go ahead and vote. Uh- enjoy photos I drew of the babies. They look tall and mature in these photos, just know that they are like 13...
