Chapter two
The smell of smoke filled the air and Jinx's arms were burning. Her skin turned from a pale to a dark purple color. Jinx took out staples from her pocket and stapled her skin together. There was blood, but she expressed no emotion at all. As if she couldn't feel pain. Jinz was very quiet when this happened; she didn't even cry. She didn't even scream.
"Doctor Jade, take her to the experiment room now!" Doctor Micheal yelled
"Yes sir!" Doctor Jade yelled running out of the room.
Doctor Jade took Jinx to the experiment room where they were going to run some tests. Jinx was very cooperative with them.
"Jinx, can you read what this says?" The Scientist asked, holding up a piece of paper with a word.
"Fire," Jinx replied faintly.
"Yes, that's right. How old are you?" The scientist asked, setting the paper down.
"16-year-old," Faintly Jinx answered
"You are very young, What does your name mean?" The scientist questioned taking a deep breath.
"Spell or charm. I like spell better," Jinx expressed looking into the scientist's eyes.
"Why do you like spell more than charm?" The scientist questioned with a puzzled look.
"It just fits my name better," Jinx replied.
Jinx's test went smoothly and she had abilities that no one knew about. Although they started to form after being hidden for so long they took control over her. Jinx was a very stable girl and she had a perfect life. I realized some bruises didn't look like those from other kids and herself. Jinx was a quiet girl and she never talked even in the blank white room with nothing but a bed.
"Jinx, are you hungry?" Doctor Jade asked to see Jinx on the bed.
Jinx didn't answer. She just nodded her head. Jinx walked over to Doctor Jade and took her hand. Doctor Jade walked with her to her car. It was the first time Jinx had seen the sun in five weeks. Doctor Jade drove and Jinx pointed at the place she wanted to go to eat. They went to the Carnival Clown diner to eat.
Jinx and Doctor Jade walked to the diner and ordered food. Jinx looked around and the colors around made a small smile on her face. Doctor Jade turned around and saw her looking out the window with a very tiny smile. The only emotion she saw Jinx show in five weeks.
"Jinx as you alright?" Doctor Jade asked, sitting next to her.
"The colors," Jinx spoke suddenly.
"What about the colors?" Doctor Jade asked
"The Colors feel warm even the dark ones," Jinx replied, turning around and then she sat down.
"How does it make you feel?" Doctor Jade asked, looking at Jinx.
"Happy, safe, and calm," Jinx answered with a smile.
They both took the food back to the mental hospital and Jinx grabbed her food. Jinx nodded to the Doctor and walked back to her room where she has to stay. Jinx was very polite till her powers got to her. Doctor Jade could still smell the smoke coming from Jinx. The purple skin that was stapled to her was not normal than normal. Why didn't she feel anything? Can she only show her emotions when she wants?
"What happened when you both left?" Doctor James asked.
"Jinx likes colors," Doctor Jade said looking at Doctor James.
"What do you mean likes colors?" Doctor James questioned crossing his arms.
" Jinx says that colors make her happy, safe, and calm," Doctor Jade remarked while taking a sip of coke.
Jinx walked out of the room and ran to Doctor Jade. Jinx hugged her and lifted the bag of trash.
"Trash can?" Jinx said softly.
Doctor Jade pointed and Jinx walked over and threw her trash away. Then walked back to the room until she was stopped.
"Jinx!" Doctor James yelled.
Jinx turned around and looked at James with a puzzled look.
"How are you able to leave in and out of the room?" Doctor James asked.
"You left your keys on the table. They're right next to you now," Jinx said with no emotion and then walked away to her room.
Jinx closed the door as it locked behind her.
