Classes went smoothly for the morning half of the day. It was now lunch and I was heading to the cafeteria, hoping I ran into Ritska or Aaron.  I haven't seen Aaron since the day started.  I started to take a few steps closer to the wing for the cafeteria when a familiar voice spoke.  "Ella. You go too fast" Aaron said, as he walked up to me. I smiled as he walked up closer, wondering how his day was going and if it was weird like mine.  Aaron stopped in front of me as he gave me a hug. "How was class?" he asked as I sighed.  I looked down at my feet as I spoke. "I'm having a weird day. My dad was talking to me in my mind" I said, as he looked at me. "Well, he must want something important. Devils can do that with their kids, my dad does it to me all the time while stuffing his bears" he said, as I looked at him. "That must be weird," I said, as he nodded. "Yeah it is," he said with a shiver. I sighed as I thought about what we talked about.  Is dad up to something again?  I huffed as Aaron took my attention. "Ella, something wrong?" he asked, which broke my train of thought.  I looked up, seeing him look at me like something was wrong. I sighed as I shook my head. "No, I'm fine," I said, as I looked down the hallway. "Let's just go to lunch. We still meeting Ritska and Azuna?" I asked as Aaron looked at me. "Yeah, we were," he said, as we started to walk to the cafeteria. My thought was broken when Aaron sighed. "I have to say, it's so weird with Max being gone," he said, as I looked up at him.  I knew that he and Max were close to each other. They were like best friends back when they first came to the human world.  I looked up at the cafeteria as I spoke. "Whatever happened to him?" I asked as Aaron shrugged.  "I dunno.  He just disappeared when our parents went to the immortal world. It doesn't look like he's back" he said as he went to continue, but I cut him off.  "Their back though," I said as he looked at me. "What was that Ella?" he asked as I looked at him. "Our parents are back.  I just had a meeting with them and your dad asked about you. He was wondering if you were still around" I said, as Aaron looked at me. "Did he wanted me to go see him?" he asked as I sighed.

I put my head down in the thought of what he wanted. "I dunno. He just asked me if you were still around. He didn't say anything else. Sorry" I said, as he sighed. "That's fine.  I don't know if I'm ready to see him. I still remember what they were doing to this world.  My question would be is why are they back" he said, as I looked up at him.  He was staring out into the café like he was deep in thought.  "You don't think" I went to say but he gave me a look. "Don't talk about it here, they might hear us" he said, as I nodded. "Right," I said, as I heard a yell. "Ella, Aaron" Ritska's voice shouted from the café. I looked up at her, seeing her and Azuna was sitting at a table, with two free chairs.  Aaron sighed as he turned to me. "Let's just get some lunch. I'm starving" he said, as we entered the café.  I looked around the room, seeing it not as packed as it usually was, which makes me wonder.  We walked more into the room as I looked at the lunch line, seeing the lunch ladies look at us funny. I studied them as I saw something inhuman about them. Were they devils?  I broke out of my stare when I ran into the chair in front of me.  "Ouch," I said, as Aaron spoke. "There's a chair there," he said, as I pushed him. "Only you would say that," I said, as I sat down in my seat. I looked at Ritska and Azuna seeing them sitting. Ritska was taking bites out of her lunch as Azuna was looking at the lunch ladies.  "Are those ladies even human?" Azuna asked as I looked at them. "I dunno. They don't seem like it.  I don't remember the school getting different lunch staff" I said, as I looked at them. A few ladies stood by the door, looking our way. They all had pale skin and reddish eyes which made me think. "Vampires," I said, as Azuna nodded. "Defiantly," she said, as we turned to the table and continued our regular lunch.

Ritska peeked her head around me as she gasped. "Oh, there he is. NOAH!" Ritska yelled as she waved at someone.  I looked at Aaron as he looked at me, then we both looked back at them.  Ritska sat back as she spoke. "I hope you don't mind. There's a new kid in my class and I invited him to join us" she said, as I shrugged. "I don't mind," I said, as Aaron nodded.  "Hey, Ritska" a male's voice spoke as a boy walked up to the table. Ritska got up as she hugged the boy, which made me wonder if she liked him.  Ritska turned to us as she spoke. "Aaron, Ella. This is my friend Noah.  He has the same schedule as me" she said, as I took a look at him.  He was a little taller than Ritska, with short purple hair and beating red eyes.  He wore rectangular framed glasses that was a dark blue.  He held a book in his hand and a little backpack on his back.  His sent was blood, defiantly blood.  Noah waved as Ritska looked at him. "This is my friends, Aaron Natsumezaka and Ella Kaginuki" she introduced us with. When she was done, Ritska turned to us. "Guys, this is Noah Sakamaki," she said, as the boy waved.  He started to slip off his backpack as he sighed. "May I join you?" he asked, as I looked at Aaron. "Sure. Pull up a chair" Aaron said, as we both gave him a welcoming smile.  Ritska and Azuna sighed as Azuna spoke. "We're going to get food. You want anything Ella?" she asked as I shook my head. "No. I'm good" I said, as they walked off, leaving us with Noah.

I looked back at Noah as I studied him more. He had hair that was purple with red tips, which framed around his eyes.  His eyes were a beating red, the similar shade of the limo Ritska and I saw last night.  He wore a ripped red shirt, black jeans and a black hoodie with red that was splattered all over it. He looked a little pale, which made me wonder. Was he a vampire?  Noah nodded as he spoke. "How's your day going Ella?" he asked, his voice now sounding a bit gravely, thirsty for a drink.  "It's going good. I guess" I said, as I studied him more.  He was staring straight at me, with a weird expression on his face.  I couldn't describe it, but it was a little creepy. "That's great," he said as he turned to Aaron, nodding in his direction. "And you?" he asked as Aaron took a sip of his drink. "Good. Classes are running smoothly" he said, as Noah nodded. "Excellent," he said, as he sighed. "Don't mind me asking?" Noah said as he bent down towards us. "Exactly, what are two devils doing in the human world?" he asked, as I dropped my drink.  I looked at Aaron as he looked back at me, with a shocked look on his face. "Um. We shouldn't talk about that here.  People don't know we're immortal" he whispered, as I nodded. "We've been keeping it private like our parents," I said, as I finished up the statement.

Noah sighed as he sat up straight. "I see. Us immortals have to hide our secrets" he said, as he took a sip of a cranberry juice. My eyes widened at his drink, as I sighed. I relaxed a bit, knowing that I had the power of ice, just in case he tried something.  I looked over at Aaron as he sighed. He tried to keep his cool, but I could tell that he was freaked out by Noah.  "So your friends with Ritska?" he asked, as he pulled our gases back to him.  I nodded as I spoke first. "Um. Yes, we live with her and her brother" I said, as he sighed. "Why don't you live with your parents?  You all must be on the same page" he said, as I gulped. What was he planning? Even worse, how much did he know? I looked at Aaron as he sighed. "There's a fight going on between us and our parents.  We don't like to talk about it" he said, as he took a bite of his meal.  The air went silent as Ritska sat next to Noah and I. Azuna sat next to Aaron.  "Sorry, there was so much to choose from," Ritska said, as she started to unwrap her sandwich. "It's all good," Noah said, as he made room for her.  

Azuna looked at us as she spoke. "You're not eating Ella?" she asked as I shook my head. "No. This day is too weird. I don't have an appetite today" I said as she huffed. "You're just like Ritska" she chuckled as I sighed again.  I looked at my hands as I felt too weirded out. First the committee and now him?  I just wanted this day to end.  The creepy feeling kept drifting over me as I sat there. The voice didn't come in my head, but I got that same creepy feeling. I sighed as Azuna spoke. "Ella. Let's go to the bathroom.  You look like you need to talk" she said, which made me look at her.  I noticed everyone staring at me at this point.  I sighed as I nodded. "Alright, let's go," I said, as I stood up. I turned to Aaron as I spoke. "If I don't see you, I'll see you after school?" I asked as he nodded. "Yeah. You go talk to Azuna" he said, as I gave him a nod. I looked at Noah as I spoke. "It was good to meet you, Noah," I said, as I started to walk out with Azuna.  Once we left the cafeteria, we started to pick up the pace, getting away as quickly as possible.  She ended up grabbing me by the shirt as she dragged me in and locked the door behind her.  I paced across the tile as I started to freak out.

Azuna turned around as she spoke. "Ok Ella, what's wrong with you today?" she asked as I looked at her. "He's a vampire, great. Our friend's hanging with a vampire" I said, as Azuna sighed.  "So what? He's in her class and Lindo is friends with his family. I don't get it" she said, as I looked at her. "Did you forget the devil vs vampire thing?  My dad doesn't like vampires" I said, as I sat on the floor and crossed my arms.  Azuna sighed as she knelt by me. "Alright Ella, you need to calm down," she said, as I looked up at her. "I can't. What if the committee is taking over and that vampire is out to kill me?" I asked as Azuna sighed. "Maybe I should take you to the nurse. Your acting extremely weird today" she said, as I sighed. I shook my head as I spoke more to myself then Azuna. "I don't know anymore," I said as she sat by me. "Come on  Ella. Let's go see if you can lay in the nurse's room" she said, as she pulled me up off my feet.  I sighed as I spoke. "It wouldn't hurt," I said, as she looked at me. "Right," she said as we started to walk out of the bathroom, heading towards the nurse's room.
