      "Princess Beverly?"

I sit up abruptly, letting out a gasp as my eyes widen at my crazy dream. I run a hand through my hair, slightly jumping as a knock sounds from my door, "Princess? It's nearly 5 o'clock you need to be present for Cotillion in 2 hours."

I frown, turning to check my alarm clock. 4:57 P.M.

"I'm up, I'm up." I groan, lying back down, "I'll be out in about an hour."

"Alright, also Miss Evie has requested your presence in her dorm room. She said quote, "I want to pretty her little booty up" "

"Alright!" I call, my patience wearing thin with the man's posh accent and slow speaking.

"Good day, Princess."

"Good day, sir!" I sit up, throwing one of my pillows at the door. I hear the man chuckle, a noise escaping his mouth, "I said, good day, sir!"

When the sound of footsteps finally disappears I let out a tired groan, slowly rolling out of my bed. I pause halfway, my body too lazy to move anymore for atleast twenty minutes.

Get up, lazy ass!

I roll over one more time, letting out a shocked scream as I fall off the bed and onto the floor. I huff, sprawling out on the floor like a starfish, "stupid Cotillion making me get out of bed!" I grumble, struggling to pull myself up from the floor.

I drag myself to my vanity, grimacing at my dirty reflection. "You girl, look rough." I mumble to myself, grabbing a towel before rushing off to shower.

I step into the shower, turning the water on before leaning against the wall. My cheek squishes against the cold tile as the water runs through my hair.

My mind drifts off to my dream and I slighty smile, my fingers tracing my lips. It all seemed so real, I was almost certain he was there. What if he really did kiss me? Would I kiss him back? Would I even act the same with my parent's around? I'm not like Ben, my parents don't accept my dumb mistakes. If I would've wanted to bring the VK's here they'd probably disown me, so how would they react to me being with Harry?

Well, you aren't with Harry so it doesn't matter.

I sigh, washing my hair and body so I can get out before I overthink anything else. Once dry I slip into a sundress before rushing to Evie's room.

"Knockity, knock, knock!" I call, knocking away at the door.

It swings open quickly and I accidently smack the person in the face. My hands fly to my mouth to cover up my grin as my eyes meet Doug's.

"Well hello to you too." He mutters, rubbing his face.

I snort, trying my hardest not to laugh, "I'm so sorry!"

"Sure you are," the boy sighs, already annoyed by my presence, "I'm just gonna assume you're here for Evie."

"Yup," I let myself in, plopping on the girl's bed. Evie turns away from her mirror, grimacing at the sight of me.

"Why do you look like a drowned rat?"

"I prefer the term moistened rodent." I sassily quipp, flipping my wet hair over my shoulder. "Aren't you going to beautify me?"

The girl frowns, pointing at her dress rack, "go put your dress on. I'm warning you now though, I'm beautician not a miracle worker."

I roll my eyes, grabbing the dress before slipping into her bathroom. I struggle to put the dress on, grunting and jumping around like some wild animal with rabies. Once I finally get into the death trap I exit the bathroom and give Evie a twirl.

"Don't stare too long," I strike a pose, "after 5 minutes I charge 10 bucks a minute to admire my beauty."

Evie rolls her eyes, pushing me down onto her chair. I huff, crossing my arms over my chest as she begins to dry my hair.

"I had the weirdest dream last night," I mutter as she turns the hair dryer off.

"And I assume you're gonna tell me all about it." I nod, grunting when she smacks the back of my head, "no moving."

"Well I woke up and you had come to my room to help me get ready for Cotillion and then we talked about how I like Harry. But then I ended up at Cotillion and Uma and Ben were a thing, it was so ugly. Then Harry kissed me and that was pretty ho-"

"You like Harry Hook?!" Evie squeals happily, clapping her hands.

I frown, "don't interupt me, I'll cut you."

"Yeah, yeah," the girl waves me off, picking up her curling iron. "I am so setting you two up."

"That's not possible." I sing-song, "Pretty sure your girl-y matchmaker system has clouded your judgement. He lives on the Isle."

"So?" The girl questions, dropping a fresh curl onto my shoulder.

"Are you dumb?" I stare at the girl in the mirror, rolling my eyes when she ignores me. "Whatever, I'm not gonna be the one to squash your hopes and dreams. Just don't be upset when Barry sinks."

"Barry?"

"Our ship name, duh." I reply, slouching a bit in my seat.

"So let me get this straight, you like Harry and even named your ship but you aren't gonna fight to be with him?" Evie comes around to stand infront of me, shooting me a look of disapproval.

"I've only know the dude for like 3 days." I defend, groaning when she begins to cover my face in foundation.

"Again, so? Love doesn't care about the date."

"Just forget it!" I grunt, "I'm not talking about this anymore, I don't have time for a boyfriend. I have a kingdom to run."

"Whatever, now close your eyes."

-

"Dad!" I squeal, jumping onto my father's back as we make our way to our spots at Cotillion.

My dad chuckles, stumbling a bit before catching me, "This is so unlady like, how are you even doing this in that dress?"

I shrug, lying my head on his shoulder, "alot of the things I do are unlady like, like that dump I took today, holy crap! Literally!" I laugh, frowning when my mother scolds me.

"Beverly Anne, I did not raise you to be so, so-"

"You raised me to be myself, mother." I hop off my dad's back, crossing my arms over my chest. "You should know exactly what it feels like to be expected to be a certain way when you're not!"

"Bev-"

"No!" I mumble, "If you'll excuse me, I have to go."

I pad away, my head hanging as I fight the tears. Why did I have to be the disappointment child? Why can't I just be a normal princess who enjoys tea parties and finds princess-y things enjoyable? I sigh, taking my spot beside Mal.

"Hey." she mutters softly, not meeting my eyes.

I stare ahead of us through a crack in the curtain. "Hi."

"Bad day?"

I chuckle, shaking my head, "something like that. You?"

"Same." the girl sighs.

"Why is life so demanding? Why are we expected to be these people? I'm so sick of playing a character."

Mal looks up at me, a shocked expression dancing across her face. Her lips part, but she never does respond because before you know it we're both down on the deck watching Uma flaunt down a set of stairs, a fake innocent smile gracing her features.

"This is just like my dream!" I gasp, turning to stare wide eyed at Evie.

The blue haired girl shares the same look, her eyes wide as they dance from Uma and Ben to Mal to me.

"If Uma is here does that mean?-"

"Hello, darlin'." I gasp again, turning on my heel to see someone I honestly wasn't actually expecting to see. "Miss me?"

Author's Note:

oooh told ya you'd hate me for this chapter, the kiss never happened and the ship has not sailed. if youre confused the dream starts when she falls asleep in the limo, everything before that actually happened.

also im sooo sorry this is so short. i had like 3 chapters ahead of this done and my laptop died and now all of my drafts are magically gone. like not even joking they arent there and so i had to whip up a hopefully okay version of this chapter to make sure i updated on time. i'll try to catch up by friday so the chapter is longer and better.

thanks for 40k reads, thats freaking dope.

the q&a flopped so obviously i didnt do it. i'll probably just anwser the few questions i got in the comments so look out for that.
