You quietly hummed to yourself as you swept the kitchen floor.

The rain outside seemed to get louder as louder by second, yet you thought nothing of it.

Austria and Hungary were in a different country for a while, and trusted you completely with taking care of their things and chibi Italy, who was in a different room painting or something.

You smiled at the thought of the adorable little Italian who loved you dearly.

Suddenly, there was a bright flash and a very loud crash.

Everything turned pitch black and you stood there for a second, trying to process what just happened.

"The energy must have been temporarily cut off with the storm," you thought aloud.

You turned on the mini flashlight you keep in your pocket for emergencies.

Going back to sweeping the best you could, you noticed a photo on the kitchen table.

It was of Austria, Hungary, chibi Italy, and you.

Wait a second-

You gasped and dropped the broom. "Shit! Italy!!"

Sprinting out of the kitchen, you ran into every room you saw until you found little Italy under the covers, which took extremely long since the house was pretty damn big.

You rushed to his side and lifted the blanket off of him and your heart nearly tore in half when you saw him curled into a little ball and sobbing.

He looked up as you called out to him and the instant his eyes met yours, he threw himself at you and hugged you tightly.

"Shh... it's okay now, Italy." You reassured and hugged him back.

Getting on the huge bed while carrying the chibi, you laid down and wrapped the warm blanket around the both of you.

After Italy's sniffles died down, he finally spoke out.

"(C/n)? C-can you sing for me?"

You smiled. "How could I say no to my little Italy?"

Turning the mini flashlight off and holding chibi Italy more comfortably, you closed your eyes and began to sing a lullaby in a soft and soothing tone.

"Honey is for bees, silly bear. Besides there's jellybeans, everywhere. It's not what it seems in the land of dreams, don't worry your head, just go to sleep. It doesn't matter how you feel. Opening your eyes back up and glancing at Italy, you smiled as you saw him sleeping soundly in your embrace.

Settling, you shut your eyes once more and slept.
