Who will win amongst them in the court of life? 

I just kept looking at them as the tension in the air became thicker. I don't know how but his green pools were making me tongue-tie as I didn't know what to say after hearing their conversation. So I choose to say the reason why I came here but before I need to apologize for interrupting their conversation. I took a deep breath before opening my mouth. 

"Sorry for interrupting your conversation but Ava I need to discuss something with you before you pass the documents," I said with a small smile on my face. 

"You didn't need to apologize as you interrupted nothing here. The conversation here was long over but some people just won't accept it" she said in a bitter tone as she finally found the energy to move away from her sport. I didn't miss how Mr. Robert glared at her with his emerald eyes after listening to her bitter words. 

"Nothing is over until I say so. Fit these words in your mind so you won't suffer in the come future" he said in the same tone making Ava clench her jaw to control her anger. 

"Mr. Roberts you could go now as you can see I don't even have a single second to spare for all useless talks," she said in her grim voice while gesturing towards the door of her office. His eyes became hard when he heard her. Instead of going out, he looked at me with the same look in his eyes. 

"Mrs. Millers as I can see you are here to talk about legal documents so it would be good if I stay here too and note all the changes you want. It will save all of our time," he said in his only business voice that I couldn't even reject. I looked at Ava to see if she was comfortable. And from her face, I knew she was not. 

"Don't worry Mr. Robert, about taking notes you can go, I will inform your assistant as he deals with it. You can leave now as you are a very busy person" she said bitterly to get him out of her office. 

"Don't worry about my time and from now onwards I'm going to personally look into all the documents that come from you. So let's start the discussion" he said while looking from me to her. His eyes lingered on her angry face more than needed and I saw a smirk on his face as he was successful in staying here until our decision was over. I knew one thing he was only going to make her more pissed than she is with his presence. I nodded in yes and we started our discussion. 

After half an hour we were done with documents. I tell you now Ava was beyond piss because each time she suggested something he would oppose it and come up with something different. At some point, it was fun watching them. It made me feel they were perfect for each other in some strange way. Ava was like a fire ready to burn and he was like ice that freezes everything he touches. My train of thoughts broke as I heard someone entering Ava's office. I turned to look back and my eyes lit up as I saw Jack coming towards me. 

How did he come so early? 

"Hello everyone," he said as he saw all three of us. His eyes glinted in amusement as they lingered on Michele and Ava. He walked towards me and stood behind my chair. I saw Michele nodding at him with a smirk on his face. He certainly knows something about them. 

"I will get back to you with new changed documents," he said in a stern voice while looking at Ava. 

"It was nice meeting you Mrs. Miller," he said with a smile on his face as he stood up from his seat. I too stood up in the process. 

"You can call me Nina and it was nice meeting you too," I said while taking his hand. 

"Well I must say my mother's word-by-word description about your beauty was so true," he said with a smirk on his face making me blush. I didn't know how to respond to him but before I could a hand was wrapped around me possessively. 

"Stay away Robert she is mine," Jack said in his possessive voice as he pressed a kiss on my neck making me shiver. 

"Don't worry I have set my eyes on something else?" he said while looking at Ava who was now almost on verge of kicking him out of her office but before she could he walked out before nodding at us for the last time. Jack ignored them and continued pressing his warm lips on the exposed skin of my neck. 

"Both of you get out of my office and do it in your office whatever you want but for love of God's lock your door this time," she said in her pissed voice but which turned into a horrified one at the end of her sentence. It made Jack laugh and I blush hard as I remembered her entering his office when Jack was about to do deeds with me. She ran out of his office like a bolt of electricity. I glared at him at his shamelessness. 

"Let's go cupcake," he said as he took my hand and started to walk out of her office. Soon we were in the elevator. His hungry mouth found mine as I could see the longing of two weeks in his dominating kiss. Even when we reached our floor he was not ready to let go of my mouth. I had to push him to bring him back to earth. 

"Jack," I said in protest as he again tried to claim my mouth. He growled when I covered my lips with my hand not letting him continue. 

"We can't do this here now, we have so much work to do," I said, still covering my mouth with my hands but it didn't stop him. Instead, his lips again found the exposed skin of my neck and shoulder. I gently pushed him away from me as the doors of the elevator opened. He again growled in protest as he didn't like my pushing. 

This time he took hold of my hand from which I was covering my mouth and took me to his office. Everyone looked at us as they saw Jack taking me to his office with a hurried step. It made me blush to know what people must be thinking about us now. As soon as we entered his office he locked the door and moved me to the couch in his office. He made me straddle him in the process making my dress ride up to my tights. His one hand started to play with the bare skin of my tights and his other with the zip of my dress as his mouth started to give an open mouth kiss on the junction of my neck and shoulder. 

"Jack" I tried to stop him but it came out more like a moan. I felt him smirking on my skin as he heard me calling him. He pulled down the zip of my dress causing it to fall from my shoulders. He started nibbling on my skin before I could protest. While his other hand stares to fondle my breast. 

"Jack" this time I said in a firm voice which made him look at me with hooded eyes. He was in no mood of listening to my sensible words. 

"We can't. We have so much work to do," I said in my soft voice as I cupped his face to make him understand. He looked at me with puppy eyes. 

"Cupcake I will be quick and after that, we can continue our work. I won't disturb you," he said like a five-year-old boy who was pleading for candy. I bit my lower lip from stopping myself from laughing. I knew he was logging for me so do I but we had more important things to do. And the Jack I know once he starts he is not satisfied with a single round. 

"I promise I will treat you later at home when we are done with everything and now like a good boy zip my dress back," I said in the same soft voice. I can't even believe I was talking in this way with him but it somehow worked on him. He let me go and then helped with my dress. 

We worked until late and when we reached home we collapsed with all the exhaustion. I still could see he wanted to do it but I was not even able to keep my eyes open. I tried to be true to my words but instead, he pushed me back on the bed. He didn't say a single word to me, instead he embraced me in his arms as I took a deep breath in his intoxicating scent to drift into a deep slumber. I wrapped my arms around him as I rested my head on his firm chest. After a long time, I was going to bed with him by my side. But in the middle of the night, I again started to see a dream which I often see.  It was a nightmare that still haunts me. Every time I would fight to breathe and suddenly I would be on the same road where I saw my sister last time. This time I saw. 

I immersed myself up from ice-cold water as my whole body shifted as it was completely drenched in it. Ice plates were forming on my bare skin making my movement slow. It was slowly freezing my limps. And now I was suddenly running on a deserted road as I tried to gasp for more air and tried to run towards her to save her but my legs fumbled making me fall flat on the cold ground and still gasping for air. My legs felt heavy as they were now turning into ice. I tried to stage myself but it was so difficult for me. I called her name many times but she didn't hear my voice. I shouted more loudly but she still did hear my crying voice. But before she could hear my voice everything was over. 

"Amelia" I shouted with all my might while opening my tight shut eyes wide with force. I gasped for air as my lungs burned and my body became colder with cold beads of sweat forming on my forehead. I tried to stand and run but before my body could get up from bed a warm body was wrapped around me. I looked at the shocked Jack and immediately tried to push him away from me. 

"Get away from me I want to go to my sister. She needs my help," I almost yelled at him as I tried to get out of his cage arms. My tears were running continually from my eyes. 

"No cupcake she doesn't," he said as he wrapped his hands around me. Taking me back in his arms. I still fought with him to get out of his arms but at some point, I gave up as I had no energy left in me. I sobbed in his arms as the realization it was just my dream my sister is no more in this world. This realization crashed on me like ice-cold water. 

"I miss her so much" I sobbed as I kept weeping silently in his arms. 

"I know---I know," he said as he pressed a kiss in my hair to calm me down. After some time exhaustion again took over me. Breathing his alluring scent I calmed myself. When I was almost asleep, that's when I heard him whisper which made my heart beat fast, and wrapped my arms around him more tightly with this unknown fear in me. 

"I miss her too"
