chapter 30 | Anger issues
30 minutes later...
"Miss Han," Jaehyuk sharply exhales right next to me, he raises his eyes up to look at her but speaks in a plaintive voice as I'm dying on my chair, feeling the need to pee like ever. "I don't understand anything..."
"What don't you understand?" she asks him after remaining quiet to let us work a bit alone on one exercise. "The verbs conjugation, why is there so much difference, dammit?"
"Because French is difficult," she states what makes me agree with her. "And don't curse, please."
"Yeah...sorry," he grins but drops his pen down to have his eyes on her as she's working on her laptop. He licks his lips but drops his look lower, probably to her breasts even though her skin is not visible at all there. "Could we have a private lesson just together tomorrow? Or maybe at your house today...?"
"Jaehyuk, I already told you that I never teach at my house," she glances up at him and relieves me with her answer. "Hm. I forgot..." he lies.
"Anyway," she sighs and rises from her chair, she grabs a marker and turns towards the whiteboard. "Write this down and put the verbs in the group they belong to."
"Yes, Ma'am," he does not take his eyes off of her but only stares at her butt, pushing the top of his pencil against his bottom lip as I'm fuming on my chair. He does not even listen to her at all, and that infuriates me. I gulp down and avoid looking at him, otherwise, I might go berserk, I bounce my leg, feeling on the verge of peeing myself just because I don't want to leave her with him.
"Ma'am," he licks his lips, his eyes scanning all her curves. "How do we say 'To make love'?"
"Why would you want to know that?" she does not glance at him but sits down after giving us some more verbs. "For educational purposes."
"Faire l'amour," she answers, certainly feeling obligated to do so because of how devoted she is to her job and that she would never want to not do as taught to teachers. "But stop behaving the way you do right now. I know why you ask me this type of question, and this makes me uncomfortable."
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, Ma'am. I'm sorry," he apologizes even though he knew what he was doing. "I just feel good with you, and I sometimes forget where the boundaries are."
"Yeah," she exhales, keeping her exasperation inside. Her fingers run over her forehead, her behavior alarming me. I focus on her. "Are you all right, ma'am?"
"Yes...I'm just..." she clears her throat, making me anxious. "I just feel a bit hot..."
I stand up without asking for permission and move up to the windows to open one, then I get to the door to open them as well. "You can go out and take a break if you need."
She nods but lets go of her pencil. "I need a moment, I'm sorry," she bows to us and leaves the room. What the hell is going on?
I follow her steps but stops once I'm in the hallway, checking up on her as she's heading away. She pulled her mask down, and she's going down the stairs. I hope she's okay because I'm not.
"You look like you're gonna cry, dude," the guy I hate to see or hear dares to address me, but I just glare and keep quiet. "Why do you always have to be so ridiculous in front of her?"
"Shut up," I stand on my spot, waiting for her but not letting him work me up. He scoffs at me. "Too bad for you, Dongsik is not there to protect his woman, so I can say what I want to her."
"No, you can't," I assert, feeling on the verge of going berserk. "Yes, I do. I talked about having sex, and you did not say a word because you're a coward. Dongsik would already have gone mad and tell me to shut the fuck up and leave her alone, but you didn't."
"Because I know this will make her even more uncomfortable, you son of a bitch," I bite on my inner cheek, realizing that I am indeed too much of a coward to even react to his provocations or the nasty insinuations towards her. "No, you just can't stand up for her because you know I'll beat the shit out of you if I want to. Don't you remember when she believed me over you?"
"That won't happen again because she knows how much of an asshole you are, you can see it in the way she responds to you, you fucking bother her," I state the facts, not standing his attitude. He acts like he knows, owns everything, and as if no one could beat him up. "I don't care whether she likes me or not. Do you think I give a shit about the sluts I fuck? That's the same here, I like provoking her and pretending to be a good guy."
"You better stop doing that to her," I step towards him, staring into his eyes to prove to him that I'm not kidding. "Or else what?" he chuckles, arrogantly. "Or else I fucking kill you."
"You're so cute when you get mad," he does not take my words seriously but makes it seem funny. "I'm not leaving this bitch al—" my fist gripping his shirt to throw him on the floor cuts his sentence short. "Call her that again, and I won't stop myself."
"What? You don't like it to hear me say the truth?" he smirks but gets back on his feet, so I propel his chair in the table to close the distance between us. "She always wears those tight clothes, uh, she knows what she's doing to us."
"You do not talk about her that way," I push him towards the whiteboard, but he sends his fist in my face right after to retaliate. "Do not fucking touch me again," he hurls out as my hand covered my cheek, but no matter the pain felt in my jaw, I do not let him have the control, I hit him back in the face and make it hard enough for his body to land on the floor.
"Say something more about her, do something more, and I make sure Dongsik rough you up. I know how scared you are of him," I clench my jaw as he's still a bit knocked out, and I gather all my stuff to leave. I need to know where's she is and what is happening.
I leave him alone without caring but pass my fingers over my lips, feeling some coldness leak in the corner of it. I check my skin afterward but come across some blood. A sigh escapes me, but I do not care about it, I walk down the stairs and look for y/n who must be in the restroom.
As soon as I get to the end of the staircase, I step out but fall upon her, coming back towards me. "Are you okay?" I move forth and touch her face, not holding back. She grabs my wrist and pulls it down. "I'm okay, I just need to go home."
"Why?" I keep my eyes fixed on her, wondering why she's not telling me more. "I just feel really sick, I shouldn't stay here and risk to faint or something," she steps aside to enter the building, but I stop her. "Can I go home with you? What if this is dangerous for you to drive?"
"No, it's not to that point, Jungkook," she tries to reassure but does not manage to do it. "Just what for me at my car if you want, I'm going to warn Jaeh—"
"About him...Uhm..." I lick my lips, feeling nervous. "I..." some saliva goes down my throat, but her eyes glance to my right, looking behind me. I turn around but see Jaehyuk. He glares at me but nudges his way between us in a rude manner, without saying anything.
She frowns at him as he's leaving, and we both get into eye contact. "What happened?"
"I...he said some stuff about you...I couldn't hold back..." my teeth squeeze my bottom lip, not regretting what I did but knowing this might make her mad at me. "Jungkook. Why would you do that? You could get into trouble."
"He badmouthed you, he deserved it," I show her I will not feel bad for what I did, and she sighs. "Do not do that again, I don't care about what he says, he just does it to provoke you."
"I don't care, he'd deserve worse. I'm coming with you to get your stuff, I don't want you to faint without anyone by your side," I step back inside and wait for her to move.
•••
5:10 pm.
"Go home, Jungkook. You cannot stay with me again. Your brother and parents must want to see you," she locks the doors of the vehicle that she parked in front of her house, but I express some disappointment. "They're fine. I need to stay with you, you don't have anyone with you."
"I'm okay, Jungkook. Seriously, it's just a cold, ill text you if anything happens," she refuses to let me go with her, making me feel annoyed. "And if you faint?"
"I won't faint, Jungkook. Do not insist," she steps to the door while taking her keys out of her bag. I'm really not fine about this, I feel like she's lying and hiding something serious. "You seemed distant today, have I done something wrong?" I ask before going away with those worries in my head, and she turns around after opening the door. "No, you didn't."
"All right," I leave her alone and head back home. She does not want to talk to me, so I'm just going to give up and not bother her.
That hurts me to be in this situation since I cannot handle this type of unknown, but I deal with it and open the front door of my house. I take my shoes and coat off, but feel the warmth of home, and the scent of food that my father is cooking.
"Oh, I almost forgot I had another son," he pretends to be shocked but makes me chuckle. I throw my bag on the sofa and move up to him. "I thought you would spend some time with y/n."
"Not today," I don't look up at him, feeling bitter about this subject, I get to the fridge and take a drink. "How was your day at school?"
"Fine, what about yours?" I get at one of the stools to sit down in front of him, and I sip on my chocolate milk. I sip hard onto it but take my phone out.
"You're already here?" my little brother joins us, but I put my eyes on my screen and get in my messages to text y/n.
[ If you ever feel nervous to talk about something that you want to keep to yourself, tell me by text please. I can see that something isn't alright >
I lock my phone once I feel the smaller body next to me, and he leans over the kitchen island. "Why are you home already?" he questions me. "Because she has a lot of work to do, and she already gave me a private lesson with the damn Jaehyuk of shit..."
"No way he was with you..." he bites his lips, aware of the hatred I feel towards this guy. "Did he say something?"
"He kept on bothering her, that pissed me off, and when she left the room I kinda fight with him..." I tell him the truth in front of our dad. "Fight? With your fists?" he gasps, willing to hear the details. "Just...twice...maybe..." I rub the nape of my neck but already see our dad shoot his eyes up towards us. "What did I just hear?"
"Nothing..." I now lose my confidence and gulp my drink down to avoid talking. "You hit one of your classmates?"
"I...he deserved it, dad. He called y/n a 'bitch', and he was saying inappropriate stuff that made her feel uncomfortable, I had to do it," my response makes him react the same way y/n did earlier. Why are they like that? This guy deserves to be beaten up until he cries. "Do not do anything like that again, Jungkook. You could get expelled or something. Just let him say what he wants and ignore him, or simply tell him to leave her alone."
"Dongsik did that multiple times, but he never shuts up!" I make it obvious I did the right thing, even though I barely touched him. He heaves a sigh and puts his utensil down. "Jungkook, I know this is difficult to deal with those types of morons, but you have to learn how to control yourself in this type of situation. They might come back with other friends to take revenge or make you regret what you did. I know what it is, I already had to stand some like that when I was at school, but you need to just ignore what they say. They're asking for attention, once you give them what they want, they never stop but enjoy it."
"But I do not want to see or hear him pester and disrespect her," I give the reason for my behavior, finding it more than understandable. "I know, but if you get into it, this will be worse. So if you're worried about her, just check up on her at the end of the class and reassure her or compliment her to make her know that this dumb guy's words should not be taken into consideration and have an impact on her state."
I do not agree with this but don't say anything more. I take my phone and get on the sofa, leaving my empty drink on the kitchen island.
She answered me.
