~Chapter 2~
When I got back home from Chat Noir's funeral, I sat on my bed still in shock. I kept thinking about what had happened the week before. I started to cry again. I was never gonna see him again. The thought made me cry even more.
"Marinette," Tikki said.
"Yeah, Tikki?" I asked.
"It's gonna be ok. Well, not really, because you can't really do anything without Chat Noir, but..." she said.
"I know," I said.
"Well, I'm actually bad luck and Plagg, Adrien's kwami, is good luck. That's why you have survived. I have brought bad luck to Chat Noir," Tikki explained.
"So, it's my fault?" I asked.
"No, it's not your fault. It isn't even my fault. I'm just bad luck," she replied. "You know. He isn't gone. Well, not exactly."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I can't tell you. He might be able to, though. It depends," Tikki replied.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I can't tell you," she repeated.
"Ugh!" I groaned.
"Once you find out, if you do, you will feel better," Tikki reassured me.
"Ok," I said. Wait. If? If I find out? So I might not find out? I decided to just go to bed. I would figure everything out in the morning. I turned off my light and climbed in bed.
Then I heard a sound. I figured it was Tikki, so I ignored it. Then I heard it again. I glanced at Tikki, but she was asleep. So if she wasn't making that sound, then who was? I got out of bed, turned the light on, and looked around. Nothing. I heard the sound once more. I decided to wake up Tikki. I was starting to get scared.
"Tikki!" I whisper yelled while shaking her. She opened her big, blue eyes and looked at me.
"What is it, Marinette?" she asked. "Is something wrong?"
"I heard something. I don't know what it was. Mom and Dad are asleep, so it isn't them. You were asleep until I woke you up, so it wasn't you. So..." I explained. "Who was it?"
"I know exactly what it is, but I can't tell you," Tikki replied.
"Who's there?" I asked.
"I am," a male voice answered.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"You know me. That's all I'll say. Someone said not to tell you, and for you to figure it out on your own," the voice replied.
"Where are you?" I asked.
"Mew ask too many questions," the voice said.
"You haven't answered my question," I said.
"Fine. I'm right in front of you," the voice said.
"I don't see anyone," I said, confused.
"That's because I'm invisible. Don't you know anything about ghosts?" the voice asked. Then I remembered what the ghost had said earlier: 'Mew ask too many questions.' I knew it was familiar. Now to confirm my suspicion.
"Chat Noir?" I asked.
"Yes," he replied.
"So, you're a ghost now?" I asked.
"You're asking a lot of questions, but yes, I am. I can show myself...once I figure this whole ghost thing out. I can walk on the ground. I can't hover, though. Too bad. Plagg won't tell me anything!" Chat explained.
"Are you hungry? 'Cause I can get you something," I offered.
"I haven't tried eating yet. I want to try, so yes," he replied.
"Croissant?" I asked.
"YES!!!" Chat yelled.
"Shhhh! I don't want to wake my parents up!" I hushed him.
"You're the only one who can hear me. I'm gonna try to show myself now," Chat said. All of the sudden, he appeared. "Let's see."
"I can see you now," I said.
"Oh, good. Now, about those croissants," he said.
"Coming right up," I assured him. I went downstairs to get the croissants. I got three. One for me and two for Chat just in case he could eat because, knowing his love of food, he would eat plenty.
I came back upstairs and gave Chat one to start with. He tried to eat it. Emphasize on the word tried. He failed to eat the croissant.
"I can't eat?" Chat asked sounding very upset.
"Apparently. I have just the thing to cheer you up," I said as I got my laser pointer out. He went wide eyed.
"You wouldn't," he said. I turned it on. I hid the light in my hand so he wouldn't see it. Then I uncovered it...not. I turned it off, having the perfect plan.
"I am going to cross dimensions," I stated.
"Wait, WHAT?! How?" Chat asked.
"I'm going to get a video of you. Well, someone cosplaying as you. Bye!" I said. "Tikki, spots on and dimension change!" It actually worked.
I appeared back in my room, where Chat Noir was sitting on my bed, waiting.
"I have the video," I announced.
He watched the video and then looked me like I was an alien.
"Why?" Chat asked.
"Because..." I replied.
"Because why?" he pushed.
"Just because..." I answered.
"What happened with Dark Cupid?" Chat asked. Wow. That came out of nowhere.
"You changed the subject awfully quick," I noted.
"I don't care. I just want to know what happened," he said.
"Well...I'll show you a video," I decided.
"You and videos. Not that I'm complaining, because I would like to see it, but still. Words work too," Chat explained. I showed him the video.
I think that I broke Chat Noir. He fainted on the spot. Literally. He fainted and then fell right on top of me. (The spot... Me...There are spots on my suit...)
"Wow," he said, awestruck.
"We should get to bed. See you in the morning, Chat," I said and then went to bed. Chat decided he was gonna sleep with me.
"I'm sleeping here," he announced.
"Can you even sleep?" I asked.
"Plagg told me that I can. So, goodnight, Bugaboo," Chat said.
"Goodnight, Kitty," I replied. Then we fell asleep.
