~Chapter 1~

I walked into class late...again. I knew this was going to be a very bad day from the start. I overslept, I fell down the stairs, and I was really close to getting hit by a car. Yep, today was turning out great.
I tripped going to my seat. Adrien caught me.
"Whoa, careful," he said. I blushed.
"You thank. I-I mean th-thank you," I stuttered. I got up and went to my regular seat next to Alya.
"Girl, do you realize that the boy you have a crush on just saved you from hurting yourself?" she asked.
   "Wait, WHAT?!" I yelled.
"Marinette, quiet down!" Ms. Bostier said, sternly.
"Sorry," I apologized. Today was just getting worse and worse.
"Yeah, and you were blushing so hard," Alya said.
   "WHAT?!" I yelled again.
"That's it, Marinette! Go to the principal's office!" Ms. Bostier ordered.
"Ok," I said, grabbing my things. I walked out of the classroom and started walking towards the principal's office. I heard a loud boom. Great. Just what I need. An akuma attack.
I ran to the girls' bathroom and made sure no one was around. I opened my purse and Tikki flew out.
"We've gotta transform! Tikki, spots on!" I chanted. A bright pink light filled the room and quickly disappeared, revealing my Ladybug suit.
I ran to the scene of the akuma. Chat Noir wasn't there yet. I started defending and looking for the akuma. I saw a black figure out of the corner of my eye. It was Chat Noir.
   "Finally, you arrive," I said.
"Sorry, m'lady. I had a little bit of a delay," he replied.
"I think I found where the akuma is," I announced.
   "Where?" Chat asked.
   "In his collar," I answered.
"A dragon...wearing a collar. Weird," he said. "You got a plan?"
"But, of course. You distract him and get him to land. I'll come up behind him and climb on top of his back. I'll grab you and pull you up. That's the first part of the plan. The second part of it will only work if the first part works," I explained.
"Alright. Then let's go, Bugaboo," Chat said.
"Don't call me Bugaboo," I said, though I secretly kind of liked the nickname. I also kind of liked Chat Noir. I was afraid to tell him, though. I also liked Adrien, so that made it even harder.
"I'll start distracting. Hey, Scaly! Over here!" he shouted as he ran towards the dragon. He came down just low enough to where I could jump up and grab his tail and climb up to his back.
I ran behind the dragon. I jumped up and grabbed his tail. He was rebelling against me, but I managed to get on his back.
"Chat Noir! I'm gonna pull you up onto the dragon! I need you to jump up and grab my arm!" I yelled to Chat.
"K! I'm ready!" he yelled back. I got my yo-yo into the dragon's mouth. I directed the dragon towards Chat Noir. I held out my arm to him. He jumped up and grabbed my arm. I pulled him up onto the dragon.
"Ok. You are really strong and you have a way with dragons," Chat said sounding impressed.
"Why, thank you. Now, I need you to use your cataclysm to destroy the collar," I said. The dragon started to fly upwards.
"Got it! Cata-" he started to say, but the dragon jerked, throwing Chat off of the dragon.
"Chat!" I yelled. I used my yo-yo to pull him towards me. It worked, but the momentum pulled me off of the dragon as well. I started falling. I held on to Chat Noir very tightly. I used my yo-yo to grab a pole to slow our fall. We got separated and we flew threw the air.
I landed on the ground feet first. Chat, however, wasn't so lucky. He smashed into a pole and let out a cry of pain. He then fell to the ground. I ran over to him.
"Are you ok?" I asked, my voice filled with concern.
   "No," Chat replied.
   "What's wrong?" I asked.
"My side hurts really bad and I can barely breathe," he answered.
"You might have broken your ribs. I need to get you to a hospital. I'll carry you," I said.
"You have to defeat the akuma," Chat said.
"I know, but you're more important to me right now," I said.
"No, go take care of the akuma. That's more important. Save Paris. Then you can save me," he said.
"I lov-lik-" I started and then stopped myself.
   "What?" Chat asked, looking curious.
"I think that you're too good of a partner to just leave you here. I'm no-" I said, but Chat cut me off.
"Go!" he shouted. Then he looked like he was in a lot of pain. "The sooner you take care of it, the sooner you can get back to me." I took that into consideration and then sprinted off as fast as I could.
I rushed to get to the dragon. I used my Lucky Charm and eventually de-evilised the akuma. I ran off to find a place to hide. I detransformed and gave Tikki a cookie. I quickly transformed back into Ladybug and ran back over to Chat Noir.
I sat with him for a while, trying to comfort him, since he was in a lot of pain. I noticed a crowd forming around us. I was worried to the point where I was almost crying.
"Is Chat Noir ok?" I heard a familiar voice asked. Then I realized that it was Alya.
   "I-I don't know," I admitted.
"No, I'm not," Chat said. I was glad he could still talk.
"And the cat speaks," I said jokingly.
"Are you a dictionary?" Chat asked. I was confused by this question.
"No, why?" I asked, growing more worried.
"Because you bring meaning into my life," he said. I was so mad at him for doing that. He scared me so bad. I thought something was seriously wrong with him, mentally.
"Don't ever do that to me again," I said.
"Sorry," he apologized, sounding kind of sad.
"You worried me for a second there, but you're alright, Kitty. You're alright," I reassured him.
   "So, what now?" Chat asked.
"I'm going to take you to the hospital, no buts about it," I said. And with that, I picked him up carefully and took him to the hospital as quickly and gently as possible. I soon learned that it was extremely hard to do so.

I looked at Chat Noir as he layed in the hospital bed. The doctors told us that he had internal bleeding and that his ribs were broken. They said that they would everything in their power to help him, but they didn't guarantee that he would make it. That worried me. Like I wasn't already worried enough.
I thought my heart would float out of my body when Chat Noir finally spoke up.
"I have something that I should tell you in case I don't survive this. Je t'aime, m'lady," he confessed.
   "I can't believe I'm saying this, but je t'aime, Kitty," I admitted.
"Also, my secret identity," Chat said weakly.
"Chat? Ok," I replied unsurely. I leaned in so no one would hear.
"Adrien Agreste," he whispered. I nearly fainted. My Kitty was my crush. He actually was already one of my crushes. I wasn't really sure what to say. I spoke after a short moment of silence.
"I'm glad it's you! Now, for my identity," I said.
   "You're not mad?" Chat asked.
"Mad? Why would I be mad?" I asked.
"I don't know," he admitted. I leaned down so the doctors wouldn't hear me.
   "Marinette Dupain-Cheng," I whispered.
   "You're probably disappointed."
"Of course not! I'm thrilled that's it's you!" Chat said.
   "Really?" I asked.
"Really. And since I might not be around for much longer, would you be my girlfriend?" he asked. Whoa. I knew my answer immediately.
"Yes!" I replied. "I love you, Kitty."
"I love you too, Bugaboo," Chat said. I was about to say something else when my heart dropped. I heard the one sound that I didn't want to hear. Flatline.
"Chat? Chat?!" I asked tears pouring down my face. I looked at his lifeless body. The doctors tried to get his heart to beat again, but it was no use. Chat Noir was dead. Forever.

That's the first chapter. I am literally balling right now, thinking about if that had actually happened. I cried while writing this. Oh no. Chat Noir just got here. He wants to read this. I can't let him. I'll let him read it...after our identities have been revealed. I'm just not ready yet. Gotta go. Akuma attack. Bug out! 🐞
