Beep beep beep

I heard my alarm clock ring out, I sighed and fumbled for my phone as I groan at the sudden light. It was 6:30, time to get up and start my new life.

I yawned and stretched, going into the shower and blushing a little thinking about Alex, always as that figure in his mind. It was like there was another mind in his. 

I brushed my hair in the shower and hummed softly, he was so handsome and that sudden feeling of warmth was like fireworks, no a whole factory of fireworks exploding. How could I have such an attraction to someone so quickly?

After 30 minutes of being in the shower, I got out and brushed my teeth and applied light make up, all thanks to Abby letting me have some of hers.

I put on a white button up shirt and black pants, while I tucking my shirt in a saw a glimpse of something in my bedroom window, my bathroom was attached so I could clearly see the window from my perspective. I walked to the window, it was still very dark, I sighed and thought my paranoia must have been coming back. I put my hair in a braid and let out a few hairs to frame my face.

"Here we go, just don't be nosey Rayleigh." I put on my dad's old army coat that he let me have as it smelled of old spice and shaving cream. I walked downstairs quietly, everyone was still asleep so I grab an apple with a bottle of water walking to the closet to pull on my combat boots.

I walked outside and breathed in the cool air of fall, I loved the smell of falling leaves and season changing. I started walking down our driveway with my phone light guiding my way, taking a bite of my apple I heard a crack in the woods. I snapped my phone in the direction of the woods and slowly scanned the area.

"Who's there? This is private property." I said just to break the deadly silence, not hearing an answer or anything moving I started to turn and sighed, walking down the path a little quicker this time until I got into town, feeling safer under the bright street lights.

As I started nearing the diner I heard rustling in the alley way, what is with stuff rustling around me lately. I slowly peaked into the alley to see a single shadow arguing with itself but with two different voices.

"Fuck off, why can't I have sometime out?" A deep voice groaned as if it was angry but annoyed.

"Cause dip shit, can't really switch while we are working or around here." Another voice rang out, this one was more calmer but almost equally deep.

"But I haven't been out since last night when we hunted." Hunted? They were hunting? It's not doe or buck season.

"Wait, do you smell someone?" The first voice spoke and snapped my direction, I gasped and started backing up, hitting in a strong chest behind me. I almost screamed but something in my heart said it was Alex.

"Ray? You are really early, what are you doing here?" His soothing voice asked me, I let out a small sigh and turned around, his eyes almost looked like they were sparkling again.

"Ray? The girl you told us about?" The second voice said and a person emerged from the darkness.

He was tall and was quite well built. He had two tattoos going up both of his arms, as I scanned his body I reached his face. His face was clean and looked as if it was freshly shaven. His hair was in a man bun and it was dyed a dark blue.

"Yes well, this is Ray, our new hire. Ray meet my best friend, Tyler Roberts." Tyler extended his hand and I shook it, smiling softly.

"Sorry if I scared you, I was practicing my lines for my drama class." He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck, as if he was lying.

"No problem, are you a voice actor? That was really impressive on how you changed your voice." I said deciding to believe him for now, I looked him up and down once more seeing he was wearing a uniform that matched mine.

I still felt a warm presences on my back as I had realized I was still up against Alex. I blushed a little and took a step forward as the two started chuckling and bickering at each other about some sort of event.

I walked with them into the diner and started getting trained by Tille who was in the office this whole time.

"Ray, you are a natural! I have already gotten so many compliments on you." She patted my back and I smiled while trying to help with dishes since Alex was on break.

"Well thank you, this is actually my first job believe it or not." I said truthfully, I wouldn't call what the Russian military tried to do was a job.

"Oh sure it is, you are still a natural, you keep it up and I just might promote you." I shook my head with a smile on my face, this felt so different, it felt good.

"Hey Ray! Got a question for you." I heard Tyler call from the kitchen, I walked over and smiled.

"Yes? What can I help you with?"

"Well it's more of, do you want to go to our college party tomorrow night?"

"Oh but I'm not a student there yet, I haven't done any of the paperwork or visited the school yet." 

"We can bring one outside guest, Alex wanted to ask you but I know he wouldn't want to. Will ya go with the poor guy?"

I blushed and tucked my hair behind my ear, I never liked parties or big events, too many minds and chances to get touched. "Oh, um well, maybe when he asks." I smirked trying to play it off and walked out of the kitchen.

After a long shift and a lot of work, my shift was over. I had forgotten to give Tille all my information so I had to stay a little after as I walked to her office I saw Alex sitting in there.

"Oh am I too late to catch Tille?" I asked standing in the door frame.

"Oh no, mom is just on a phone call with another business, she'll be done soon. Oh here!" He said getting out of his seat and gesturing to it, I smiled and walked over, sitting down as he crouched on the floor, "So how was your first day?"

"Oh I loved it! Everyone here is so nice, I love your parents." I smiled and just admired him, my thoughts were broken after he asked, "So uh, there's this event at my college and we can bring an outside guest, would you want to come? It's celebrating the senior class."

My heart fluttered thinking he would want to invite me. 'Rayleigh stop thinking those thoughts, you just met him!' My thoughts yelled at me

"I would love too." I played with my braid as Alex looked as if I just gave him the best present he could ever ask for.

"Great! Oh um here is my phone number, text me your address and I'll pick you up tomorrow at 7, oh um it's semi formal. But anything would look beautiful on you." He said quickly as he wrote his number on a stinky note and walked out.

Oh my god, I'm going to my first party!
