11- Work

A/N- Song for today is Animal by Andrew Ripp

As I drove home from Tyler's house I had a smile plastered on my face. I have a really good feeling about this. Tyler seems like a great guy so far, his music (soon to be our music I guess) is really cool and unique, and to top it all off the weather was gorgeous out today so I could drive home with the windows down and radio blaring.

I stopped by a corner store to grab a small carton of ice cream to have a mini celebration by myself for my success.

After I got back to the apartment and stuck the ice cream in the freezer and began to work on my dinner since it was already later in the evening; I always lose track of time when I'm with Tyler it seems.

After dinner, I sat on the couch with my feet propped up on the coffee table and my carton of ice cream in my hands. I ate about half of it before I started to feel kind of sick and had to save the rest for another time.

I stayed up until eleven to finish the movie I had started before going to bed. Eleven is insanely early for me, but I have to open the music store tomorrow around six in the morning, and for some ungodly reason my shift isn't over until four.

I have a break around one for lunch, but it's still going to be hell and I'm going to be exhausted. I really need to talk to the manager, Oli Sykes, about these crazy long shifts. I can't do them much longer; I'll start throttling the rude customers if I do.

I was able to fall asleep relatively quick, but I still felt like the living dead when my alarm went off in the morning. It took every ounce of my will to pull myself out of my comfortable bed instead of cuddling back underneath to blankets and sleeping for several more hours. I should really try to fix my sleep schedule...

Eh.

I blindly threw on some clothes and grabbed a beanie that had been discarded on top of my dresser to kind of hide my messy hair so I wouldn't have to fix it. I've been thinking about dying my hair, I'm just not sure which color I want to do.

I slid on my shoes, grabbed my wallet and keys, and headed out to my truck. On the way to the store I played my music loudly and stopped to get some breakfast in attempts to wake myself up more. By the time I reached the store, I finally reached the point where I could form a complete sentence.

I need more caffeine

I unlocked the doors, stepped into the shop, and locked them again behind me. The store isn't supposed to open for a couple more hours, but we just got in some big shipments and Oli needed help getting everything put up before opening time. And since I've been around longer than any of the other employees and am the only other key holder to the place, he called me in to help.

I mean, I'm not complaining because I need the money, but I also am complaining because it is so early in the morning.

"Hey Oli, I'm here and I brought you some food!" I called out as I put my stuff on the shelf underneath the cashier counter.

"Sweet, thanks!" I heard him call out from the back room, his thick accent twisting the sounds of his words in a lovely way.

I wish I had his accent, I always copy saying things the way he does, mostly to get on his nerves, but partially because one day I want to go around talking in that accent and see if people actually believe me.

He came out of the back carrying a large box which he set on the floor next to one of the shelves before coming over and grabbing his food off the counter that I had set out for him.

"Hey," he started to say around a mouthful of food before swallowing and continuing on, "I know I've been having you work crazy hours lately and I really appreciate it. But, good news for you I finally got someone else hired on so you can work a bit less. I'm training them later this afternoon and working them into the schedule as soon as possible. But yeah, thanks."

"I was actually going to talk to you about that today, but now I guess I don't have to. And it was no problem dude, but I am starting to get pretty tired, the past couple days off have been wonderful so thanks for those."

"Well, hopefully now I can give you a few more." He finished his food and threw away the wrappers before going over to the box he'd just brought in and opening it up.

"Now get your ass back there, grab a box, and start unpacking."

"Why of course chap! Are you sure you don't want me to make you some tea and crumpets first though?" I responded in an obviously fake accent as I went into the back room.

"Shut up you twat and get to work!" I just laughed as I pulled another box of a shelf and went back out to join Oli in the main area.

We talked as we worked which made the time go by faster, and before we knew it everything was unpacked and we still had half an hour before the store opened.

We sat on the cashier counter and scrolled through out phones, occasionally showing the other person something we thought was funny.

While we were just sitting there, I thought it might be a good time to ask Oli for some advice. He's five or six years older than me, and this was something I definitely knew he could help me with. I cleared my throat before I spoke.

"Hey, Oli?"

"Hm?"

"Can I ask you for some advice?"

"Of course, about what?"

"How did you know you were gay?"
