I followed the woman reluctantly, not saying a word and keeping my head down "ya don't speak much do you?"She asked while walking with her hands behind her head and flashing me a look. I just shook my head while carrying my spectacular activity, suddenly I began to smile at her comment. "What are ya smiling for?" She asked while spinning on her heels and flashing me a look of wonder. I shook my head "nothing" she just shrugged and continued to lead me, I was happy not because I died but because I was still the same at heart. We walked around the woods for at least 4 hours, it felt like we were going in circles but I didn't say anything since she was the leader but suddenly she turned to me and gave me a worried smile, "what?"I asked while raising my eyebrow, already knowing what was wrong."I-I'm lost," she laughed awkwardly and scratching her head. "Oh..." I awkwardly said while looking around. "Come in, Commander White?!" a loud voice screamed from the radio on the female right hip. "Oh uhh, this is Commander White reporting, is there something the matter?" She said nervously into the radio "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU, COMMANDER?? THERE ARE SOLDIERS THAT NEED YOUR GUIDANCE!!" The voice screamed angrily, causing me and the commander to jump. "Uh yes, I understand but I'm l-" she was cut off. "Uh, fuck it! Turn your badge on, and I'll have a search party come and get you" the voice said before falling silent. "I assume that was your leader," I said a little sarcastically and the lady looked at me and smiled weakly."Yep, but he can be a bit uhh" she paused and I chuckled.

We sat under a tree and chatted about trivial things while waiting for the search party. They arrived quickly and talked to the commander about the situation in a foreign language. "Who is she?" A white-haired male said while pointing at me with his gun. "Hey put down your weapon, she is no harm" she spoke with firmness while lower the man's weapon."You sure she looks suspicious" he raised an eyebrow. "Do you doubt me?" she raised an eyebrow, "uh no commander, I would never," the man said while quickly swinging his gun to his side, "I thought so," she said while offering me a hand and I took it happily. While pulling myself up off of the damp grass I heard a long click and looked up. A gun was pointed at the side of the woman's head, the gun was held by one of the men from the group, the quiet one. "I'm so sorry commander" he chuckled lightly while slowly squeezing the trigger. A loud bang was heard, and I squeezed my eyes shut.

There was nothing but complete silence as I slowly opened my left eye. There was a slight giggle and both of my eyes shot open. There stood the woman I had just met, she was smiling slightly with her eyes closed and her head cocked to the side. "Commander!" A voice screamed and I watched, unable to do anything as she slowly collapsed to the grass. It felt as if time had stopped. A few men from the search party rushed over to her while a few ran to me. They swung each one of my arms on one of their shoulders and helped me back to their camp. My ears still rang from the gunshot but I was in too much shock to complain. Another one has died because of me I thought while looking down at the dirt path.

"We're here sir!" Both of the men saluted to their boss with me still on their shoulders. "Who the fuck is she?" He said while pointing to me and lighting a cigar. "Sir, she was with Commander Perya," the man with tanned skin said. I stared at the tanned man, I watched as sweat fell from his brows, as he mouthed the words; as his adam's apple bounced up and down at his words. "Take her to my tent," said the commander. I snapped my attention away from the tanned man and looked at the commander.

I entered the tent and sat down, after a short amount of time a man walked in and sat in front of me. "Who are you?" He questioned while folding his hands on top of the table that separated us. "I'm Nika...Nika Town," I said while looking him in the eyes. "Nika? What a strange name...Now where are you from and what is your relationship with Commander Perya?"He glared at me, letting me know he doesn't trust me."I'm Nika; I am from Michigan or Earth as you would call it and Commander Perya is nothing more than an acquaintance."I huffed out in worry. The room fell silent and all that could be heard was the sound of my heart beating rapidly. "You're nervous," the man said calmly as he watched me, well yeah who wouldn't be nervous? I sarcastically thought while crossing my arms over my chest and sneering my nose at him. "Haha, I like your attitude. You should join us," the man chuckled and narrowed his stormy grey eyes at me. "Join you in what exactly?"I leaned forward in curiosity." We're an army, as you can tell, we..." he paused for a minute."Who do you guys fight for?"I asked while arching a brow at his words."We fight under our ruler, King Oliver," the man leaned back in his chair and looked up. "King Oliver is the youngest king we've ever had but he cares about his people more than anything, even though he can come off as a bit cold and rude." "Who do you fight?" I asked while thinking of the possibilities "the Calibers," he responded quickly without hesitation. "What have they done?" I asked while trying to fight my anger and keep my composure. "That is not something I am authorized to explain but will you help us?" The man said with a hopeful smile and extended his hand. I sat there thinking about my decisions, if I go with them I could learn to defend myself and I also wouldn't have to worry about living expenses I thought while looking at the middle-aged man. "I'll join you," I said while taking the man's hand and shaking it violently. "We're glad to have you with us, Ms. Town," the man smiled and walked me out of the tent. The sun was setting, but I could still see the men and women who were still training, eating, and chatting. We stopped in front of a tent, and I turned to him, "thank you for having me, Lieutenant," I saluted and he saluted back "no problem, Town." he said before leaving.

I crouched down and hobbled into the tent; I was faced with a green sleeping bag and a small traveling lamp next to it. I smiled as I laid down on the sleeping bag, I felt a bit nervous; I have never fought before let alone killed anyone I thought as I closed my eyes.

"You've joined the army?" A voice said and I turned around. Not again, I thought as I stared at the man. "Why have you joined the army?!" He growled a bit, "what's it to you, I need to protect myself. I can't rely on others to protect me all the time," I said while looking down, remembering Ao, Celest, and Ace. "Is it because of that rabbit?" He asked coldly, and I looked him in the eyes. His eyes had become a stormy dark grey color, white and light blue scales had appeared on his cheeks, his hair grew longer and I took a step back when I heard a small angry growl. "Look Mr. Jelly, I don't know what your problem is but Ao is my friend, he helped save my life and I owe him," I said while crossing my arms and walking up to the man. I stopped when were inches apart and I felt his breath on my face; hot and uneven. "I'm not jealous but..." he stopped "We're bound to each other," I said while sighing. "Is there any way to nullify it?" I asked while looking into his eyes that lit up with curiosity. "Why?" He asked while staring into my eyes "because I'm sure you have someone you love," I said with a little smile but it faded when I felt a pain in my chest. I clenched my chest, and the man noticed me, walked over to me, and place a hand on each side of my shoulders, he looked me in the eyes "what's wrong?"He said and I stopped when a series of questions flooded into my head."Why do you care about me joining the army?"I said slowly while backing away from him, but I didn't make it far because of the grip he had on my shoulders. His grip tightened, and he began to laugh insanely "w-who are you?"I stuttered nervously." oh come on Princess, it's me your fated pair," he giggled sarcastically while trying to kiss me. "N-no no get off of me!" I screamed and kicked, squeezing my eyes shut as he laughed loudly at my struggles, suddenly everything went quiet and the man who held my shoulders was gone, "calm down Nika, calm down, it's me," a familiar voice said. I instinctively calmed down opened my eyes "Mr.Jelly?" I said jokingly, and he pulled me into a hug, "I'm sorry Nika," he apologized before disappearing.
