Hobbins held Tomislav down with all his weight, punching at areas he knew would do maximum damage. The high feeling of adrenaline burning through his veins was a feeling that he had always cherished, but in the strictly anti-violence community he had been adopted into, he had never been able to exercise his impulses on a human target.
" Aim for the neck Phoenix."
Hobbins paused for a split second, processing the memory, then swallowed roughly and shook his head.
' I can just pin him. No need to kill right now.' He thought to himself.
Tomislav stared up at Hobbins, something akin to respect in his eyes.
" You're the first wrathful one I've found.." he whispered.
Hobbins froze.

Lillian gnawed on her fingernails.
" This isn't good."
" Should we help the chick?" Gabriel asked.
Lillian nodded, and the two hurried over to Jacques and Amen.
" You take Jacques." Lillian ordered.
" I'll take care of the other one."
Bracing herself, Lillian marched over to Amen and tapped the side of her face.
" Amen, right?" She asked. Amen turned to stare at Lillian, looking like a deer in the headlights.

Avery Greene paced furiously, ignoring Enisa's pleas for him to sit down. His call-brace buzzed, and when he answered the phone, he was assaulted by Yosef's jabbering.
" A, you gotta get over to corridor 6-D, there's one helluva situation over there."
Avery unlocked his weapon cabinet with the key hanging around his neck.
" Risks?"
" Serial killer, one very angry rookie, one injured- he got kneecapped by the serial killer, and the patient zero for Col-Akins. I would've called Rochelle, but she got that cybernetic enhancement a couple months ago, and Enisa's in no fit state to deal with this."
" Screw that." Avery said, tossing his wife a Proof vest.
" Enisa's put up with me for twenty years. We've got this."
" Understood. Blackwinter over and out."
Enisa smiled at Avery.
" This brings back memories."
Avery smirked and lit a cigarette.
" Try not to lose your other eye babe."
Enisa wiped her remaining eye free of tears.
" You got it."
After gearing up, the two left the safety of their room, and marched side-by-side to Corridor 6-D.
" Weapons hot?" Enisa asked.
" Locked and loaded." Avery responded.
The two turned the corner in time to see Hobbins thrown to the ground.
" Go ahead." Enisa said.
Avery nodded, kicked off his flip-flops, and loaded his tranquilizer pistol.
" Who do I shoot?" He asked.
" Both." Enisa responded.
Avery took aim, then shot.
The dart's needle sunk into Tomislav's neck, and the big man jolted, then turned to stare at Avery and Enisa.
Before Tomislav could charge them, Hobbins regained his footing and charged head-first into Tomislav's chest, knocking him to the ground.
Avery fired again and the dart missed Hobbins by an inch, then sunk into Gabriel's shoulder. Gabriel barely registered the sedative before he keeled over onto Jacques.
" Oh nuts." Avery muttered.
Enisa rolled her eye and retrieved her own tranq pistol, then got close and sent a dart flying into Hobbins' side.
Hobbins stayed upright for roughly ten seconds, then sunk to his knees. He shuddered, then sunk lower. Then he keeled over completely.
" Jeez that was like taking down an angry elephant." Avery muttered.
" Contact the ICU. I'll take care of the rest." Enisa said. Avery nodded and sent the help request out with as much information as he could.
She walked over to Amen, and made eye contact.
" You know what I have to do, right?" She asked.
Amen whimpered, and sunk to the ground.
" I'm sorry." Enisa said, then unholstered her live pistol.
Lillian tried to intervene, but Avery held her back.
" Keep back kiddo."
Enisa took aim, fired, but the shot was intercepted by Jacques, who had managed to pull himself over far enough to throw himself into the path of the bullet. It struck his left shoulder and lodged in the bone.
Enisa swore loudly.
" WAIT!"
Those that could turned around, to see Bess Harding.
" I think I hacked it."
" Hacked what?" Lillian asked.
Bess held up a USB drive, a desperate smile on her face.
" I think I hacked the Col-Akins virus."
Amen sobbed loudly. Bess shrugged past Enisa and knelt by Amen.
" I'll need to connect this to your C1 vertebrae."
Amen bent her head, and Enisa sucked in a breath through gritted teeth.
" If this fails, I'll need to shoot you both."
Bess smiled awkwardly and plugged the USB into Amen's C1.

The ICU moved fast, arriving as soon as the anti-virus code started to work.
Amen sobbed and pulled Bess into a tight hug,
Tomislav was taken away, by a special-response group.
Gabriel and Jaques were taken to the infirmary.
Nova felt for Hobbins' pulse, and Lillian watched as her face fell.
" Is he..." Lillian started trembling.
Nova sighed and shook her head.
" He's either unconscious... or in a coma."
