-Chapter 6-

Sighing I dried a plate clean whilst looking out a window near the sink. Chatter from families and laughter from children filled the air from the other side of the café. Today seemed to have gone by fast, too fast.

It was near finishing time for my shift and my stomach seemed to hiss and grumble, giving me that unwanting feeling of negativity throughout me.

The clock ticked to 5:30pm. I put down the clean dish, setting it on the rest of the pile of plates. Unwrapping the white apron around my small frame, I hanged it on the old rusty hook on the pale wall, before grabbing my bag and leaving.

My mind was blank, as I walked down the street that the café was located on. I had told Optimus to stay and look after my mother, even though he protested and claimed he would pick me up, I argued and told him I would walk. He finally gave up with a mechanical sigh, before leaving me at work for the day.

I groaned annoyed, spotting a flamed western star truck drive down the street and skidding to a stop next to me. I faced him with an annoyed look.

"You could not allow me to walk home?, I told you to look after my mum", I said with annoyance lacing my words.

He never listens to me.

"My apologises Cathie, but there seems to be some... news that has appeared", He told me, guilt and over-whelmness happened to lace his words.

The sound of his voice easily caught my attention. The passenger door opened and I quickly climbed in before sitting down whilst closing the door.

I put my bag on my lap, as I looked at his holoform awaiting for what he had to stay that was so important. He seemed to have been through a lot today, as he looked and sounded to be in a foul mood.

"What is it?", I ask with an raised eyebrow.

Silence filled the air. Surprisingly for once, it seemed to suffocate me and I didn't like it. not one bit.

"Optimus?", I push for him to answer my question, the silence was slowly killing me. He took off, back on the main road before saying anything to me.

"I need you to trust me on this", Optimus finally spoke after a couple of minutes, looking at me from the corner of his eyes, "you'll need to stay at N.E.S.T for a while", he told me, making me blink, He changed a gear, before I blinked once again.

"Wait, what?", I stumble out dumbly.

"Cathrine. Please trust me"

My eyes filled with worry, my thoughts slowly started to pump up with numerous of questions.

"Why?, I want to go home", I ask confused.

"You can't", Optimus simply said, whilst turning the steering wheel slightly, his eyes now on the road that was very quiet and empty.

My heart dropped at the simple words he told me. what did he mean I cant!?. Of course I can!.

"My mum and my stuff is there. My whole LIFE is there. You can't just take me away from the place I call home!", I tell him raising my voice, as I glare at his Holoform that now stared at me.

I hated how he didn't explain everything to me, only parts of the situation. As if he thinks I couldn't handle it.

Optimus halted to a stop on the side of the road. sighing, his fingers drummed against the steering wheel, before he spoke up.

"Cathrine. the decision has been made and it's not changing", Optimus told me sternly, doing a couple of hand movements as he spoke. Optimus turned in the chair to stare me down. His voice and eyes easily warning me not to push the boundaries of this conversation.

How dare he!?.

"Who gave you the right to make my decisions for me!?. You can't just walk into my life and control it!", I tell him, anger easily spotted in my eyes.

Optimus's eyes narrowed in frustration, his bad mood easily getting the better of him. Optimus's Holoform seemed to show more visual emotions than his original form, "I am trying to help you!", he claimed failing to remain calm.

"You are not being very helpful. you are pretty much driving me insane!. I don't understand why I have to move!", I hiss at him, Tugging my blue hair slightly, my anger boiled easily through my veins.

"I am trying to get you to a safer area. You are not helping the situation at all, you're making it rather difficult", Optimus said, trying to hide the frustration in his voice and remain calm towards me.

"Well maybe, I would be helpful if you actually explained what the situation actually IS!", I threw my hand in the air annoyed at him, It slightly brushed the roof before falling on top of my bag that rested on my lap.

"Cathrine. It's hard to explain. You need to wait and trust me"

"Why can't you explain to me now!?. Do you even know what you're explaining!", I hiss at him angrily.

"Positive. it's been planned out and all-", I cut him off, "sure it is", sarcasm laced my words.

"I know what I am doing, do you understand!?", Optimus demanded, his commanding tone easily hears towards me. His electric blue eyes shined brightly in anger, having enough with my attitude.

"If you know what you're doing, than explain what the situation is already Prime!", I yell at him using his title as anger clouded my mind.

"Your home is gone. there is nothing to return to. Nothing!", Optimus snapped at me, before pausing and realising his mistake, His eyes slightly widened, easily filled with regret and guilt.

"W-what...", I stuttered out not believing what he said.

"Cathrine, I'm sorry", he whispered softly to me, before shaking his head.

My heart dropped as he spoke again, wishing I never heard what he said next...

"Your mum is dead"
