II

Faye starred out her bedroom window on a cold April night. The day before her 11th birthday.

She watched the streets as an old man walked down, flickering out all of the street lamps.

They slowly all went out, until she could only see his silhouette.

She could see his beard trailing behind him on the street.

She ran downstairs to tell her parents.

They were all making dinner.

"Hey sweetie!" Said her mother happily, "What's going on? We must have a town power outage again. I'll go call Ned."

She turned around to go get the phone.

"Mom! There's a man standing out there! He's not young, I'll just say that. But he took out a cigarette lighter, and turned of all the street lights!" Cried Faye.

Her father turned to look at her.

"Uh, honey, have you been breathing in to much exhaust at the satiation? Maybe you shouldn't come as often..." He mumbled worriedly as he fiddled with his fingers.

Faye sighed. "No dad. I'm fine."

Faye turned to walk out of the room, but she heard a knock at the door.

She stopped in her tracks, and her eyes widened.

"Who is it Faye?" Called her mother from the kitchen.

Faye looked through the curtains and said; "Uhm, I, I don't know. It's that man I was talking about! With the long white beard!"

Faye's mother and father walked out of the kitchen.

The looked out the window, and then glanced at each other, worriedly.

"Honey, go up to your room. We'll be up in a minute." Said her mother.

Faye obeyed, and ran up the stairs, glancing back down to see the man timidly enter the house.

"So, um, what do you do?" Faye could hear her mother say.

The man responded with a gruff but hoarse voice.

"I'm an accountant. All of the numbers facinate me."

Faye crept around the wall that led out into the hallway.

She slid down the hall, quiet as she could.

She peeked her head around the corner and saw the man sitting there, and her father nodding his head.

"How-" her father began, "...interesting."

The man nodded his head.

He almost began saying something, but Faye's mother stopped him.

"Before we discuss anything else, what was your name?"

The man sat up straighter in his chair.

He cleared his throat, and spoke clearly, and precisely.

"My name, is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."

Her fathers eyes widened, and her mothers mouth gapped open.

Faye was slouched in the hall, on the floor with her hand over her mouth, eyes brimming with tears.

'He has the same last name as me, could he be family?' She thought.

She was about to walk out and find out when the man turned around, and looked her dead in the eyes.

His were the same as hers.

His nose had the same crooked shape.

Even his mouth seemed oddly similar.

She thought for a moment, but then, a surge off energy went through her.

She knew exactly who this man was.

"Dad?"
