With your permisson

Mary woke up to the warm Wakandan breeze on her bare back. A warm hand drawing circles into her shoulder. She smiled, turning over in the bed to face her husband. Her eyes opening and seeing James Buchanan Barnes, fresh faced from their night, his beard was itching Mary's forehead as he pressed his lips to her head, but she didn't care. Her husband was in her arms and finally, nothing was tearing them apart. "Morning, my wolf." She whispers to Bucky, his crystal blue eyes scanning every feature of his wife. His eyes landing on her rounded stomach, only four months along in her fourth pregnancy but he still found every inch of his wife breathtaking.
He kissed her on her soft, pink lips, drawing a smile from both parties, "Morning, my luna." He replies, "Did you sleep well? The baby not causing any trouble?"
Mary shakes her head as she shifts herself, Bucky's chest now her pillow as her arm wraps around his torso and her leg wrapping around his own leg. "No, this pregnancy's been fairly easy compared to Becca, Winnie and Jamie's." The wife replies, her finger running along her husband's bare chest, tracing lines over him, comforting her husband the only way she can.
Bucky hums in response, smiling, "You know we have to get up soon. Becca will be back with Jamie soon." He reminds his wife. The husband and wife had moved completely into Wakanda when Shuri had repaired Bucky's mind. Mary making a name for herself as a doctor for the native people and as T'Challa's royal Advisor. The Luna of the Wolves of Wakanda was proud of who her and her family had become in the eyes of the people locally and nationally.
Mary nods, sitting up, holding the sheet around her chest, "And Peter, James." She points out.
Bucky's face contorts, his flesh hand running through his shoulder length hair as he shifts in the bed, "Right, and the kid." He grumbles. The sergeant didn't have anything against the Parker boy, except the fact that he was dating his only daughter. That was the only thing wrong with the situation.
"James." Mary scolds her husband as she dresses herself, slipping into her underwear and bra. Her husband staring at her with watchful eyes. His blue orbs scan his wife's features when she slips on a yellow sundress and her sandals. Her chocolate colored hair had grown out over the years and now fell to her shoulder blades, the tips of her hair were still the reddish pink she had dyed it when her and her family had to go into hiding after the Civil War of the Avengers took place. She twisted her hair and pinned it, making it look shorter than it is. Bucky loved watching his wife get herself ready for the day. He loved watching his wife do anything. Hell, he'd watch her sleep most nights, she often fell asleep before him. He'd watch her dream, her chest rising and falling at a steady pace. His hand securely placed on her growing stomach protectively every night. Keeping watch over his precious family. Mary looks over at her husband, "James-" She repeats herself, gaining his attention, "-get yourself ready, and stop staring at me." She teases, throwing clothes at him.
He catches them with ease, chuckling, his smile on full display, "Sorry, can't help but admire what we created with our love." He teases as he gets dressed.
She gives him a pointed look, but smiles, her hands landing on her stomach, "I hope it's a girl." She says quietly, looking at her stomach wistfully, "I love Jamie with everything i am and more, but i never got to raise Becca passed five." She explains, Jamie was eight now. It had been three years since Tony passed away and the Avengers defeated Thanos.
Steve was still alive and being taken good care of by Shuri and her medical team alongside Mary. Becca and Peter had been together for six years now, not counting the five they were gone. Becca had been subtly hinting at Peter to propose to her for a while now, commenting at MJ and Harry's wedding and how she wanted something similar. When the two couples plus Jamie would walk around shops, Becca would always stop at the stores that carried rings. Everyone could see she wanted to be married to Peter.
Except Peter.
Bucky chuckles, standing up as he pulls his jeans on, buckling them as he wraps his arms around Mary from behind, both his flesh and his metal hands securely placed on her stomach. He lovingly trails kisses along her collarbone, neck and cheek before speaking. "It'll be a girl, if not, we just keep trying. From experience, i'd say we quite enjoy trying." He teases, earning a smack on his bare chest from his wife. A chuckle draws from his chest, kissing Mary's cheek before pulling on a shirt.
Bucky started to step out of the hut when Mary gripped his hand, "Your hair is a mess, my love." She tells him, holding up a hair tie. He turns around, his eyes closing in bliss as Mary runs her long, nailed fingers through his scalp, massaging it as she pulls his hair back, putting half of his hair in a bun. She kisses his neck before pulling away, "There, all done." She states, proud of her work.
"Thanks, doll." Bucky replies, his Brooklyn accent thick and prominent. if they had time, Mary would've pulled him back into their bed just for saying those two words. But they didn't have the time sadly. Later.
The husband and wife step out of the home they had built for their ever growing family. Both of them take in the beauty of Africa. The lake was glistening in the morning sunlight, the sky was littered with pinks, purples and deep oranges as the sun rose in the sky. The sky was painted in the most beautiful way possible in Mary's mind.
"Ma, Pa!" A child's voice called out, heavy panting followed. A small body soon tackled the husband to the ground, drawing a laugh out of Mary. "I got you, Pa!" Jamie says proudly.
"You did-" Bucky replies, gripping his son's waist before flipping them on the ground, Bucky now on top of his son, "-not." He teases. Jamie pouts, but it's soon turned into a fit of giggles as Bucky tickles his son's sides.
"Mama!" Becca calls out, rushing to her mother and father, Peter is close behind his girlfriend, hands in his pockets with a content smile on his face as he watches the love of his life interact with her family that she had longed for all her life.
"My sweet baby girl." Mary smiles, wrapping her arms tightly around her daughter. She looks at Peter briefly as he stands at a distance. Ever since Peter was bitten by the spider, his senses had been dialed to an eleven. His hearing was heightened to such a degree that he could hear everyone's heartbeats, even the baby's that was growing inside of Mary. He and Becca were lie detectors. They could both hear the change of a person's heartbeat when they would lie. It came in handy for the couple when they would patrol New York and watch over the city. The mother and daughter break apart, Mary looks over at Peter, Becca walking off to play with Jamie in the lake. Bucky walked up behind his wife, a hand placed itself on the small of her back.
"Queens." Bucky said as his greeting to Peter. Peter shifted his footing, he wasn't scared of Bucky. He was absolutely terrified. But not because he could kill him in an instant. It was because he was dating Bucky's one and only daughter.
"Mr Winter- No, Mr Barnes- sir." Peter scrambled out nervously, a smirk formed on Bucky's face when he saw the kid's forehead beating in sweat.
"Hi Peter." Mary said softly, she loved Peter since he was a young boy, having known his aunt and uncle for years before Ben passed. One of her best friends was May, Peter's aunt.
Peter's nervousness faded some when he smiled at Mary, "Hi Mary." He greeted, "I- um-" he murmurs, shoving his hand in his pocket, his other hand going to scratch the back of his neck, "Um- i- can i talk- i need to- i'd like to talk to the both of you." He sputters out, "About Fia." He adds.
Mary smiles, nodding, "Of course." She replies, gripping her husband's hand, "Be nice to him." She demands, her husband's arms raising in defense.
"I'm as gentle as a bird." He replies, smirking.
"A vulture." Mary quips back, Bucky's metal hand grasps his chest in shock.
"Mary! My luna! You've wounded me. How on earth could you say that." Bucky teases.
Mary rolls her eyes, "I can say it because it's true. Poor Peter has been trying to please you all these years and you've done nothing but give him the hardest time."
Bucky nods slowly, "I know i mess with him, but that's what i do. I'm just making up for lost time." He says solemnly.
Mary's heart aches, her hands place themselves on the sides of his face, "We both are." She reminds him, "We both are making up for so much lost time."
Bucky nods, "It hurts knowing how much i've missed. It hurts so damn much knowing i missed Becca's first everything, Jamie's first everything. I missed Winnie being born and i wasn't there when you needed me most. I regret ever going on that damn mission." He grits out, looking away from his wife. "The Commando's could've captured Zola without me."
Mary sighs, she takes one of his hands, placing it on her stomach, smiling at the comfort just a simple touch brings her from her husband, "I know you've missed a lot. Everything of Jamie is on video for you, you've seen it all." She says, "And you will be in that delivery room, right by my side as i give birth to our fourth baby. You will be cheering me on, comforting me. Everything. And then we'll both be up doing the late night diaper changes, the two a.m feedings. All of it."
Bucky's eyes cloud with tears as his wife makes him look at her, "I'm going to treat you like the queen you are. You deserve the world and all i have brought you is darkness." He says, his demons coming through the walls he's built with the help of his family and Shuri. The thoughts of his past begin to haunt him. All the bad he's done to the world. He doesn't deserve someone like Mary.
"James Buchanan Barnes. You, and you alone are my world, my joy, my comfort, my safety. You have given me four of my most prized treasures. I wouldn't change a thing. Because then none of us would be who we are today." Mary states boldly to her husband.
Bucky looks his wife over, smiling at her. He holds her as close as he can without harming her petite figure with her protruding stomach. "You're my life, my love, my light. My entire reason for existing. Mary, you are the breath in my very lungs. You are the reason i wake up every morning. Without you, my life is meaningless. Without you my world is darkness plagued by my demons. You are the light that drives the darkness out. You have given me the greatest gifts i could ever ask for. You've given me a family when i thought i could never be worthy of love a child gives." Bucky chokes out, his body shaking as he collapses slowly to his knees, his hands on her stomach, "You are my everything. I would die a thousand deaths if it meant keeping you safe."
Mary's hazel eyes let tears stream down her face as her husband declares his love for her again. He did this every time his demons got the better of him and clouded his judgement. But not once did Mary ever judge him, or complain, or criticize him. She was always there for him, as a shoulder to cry on, a lover for him to show how much he feels for her because there were nights he had no words to tell her how much she meant to him. So he would show her using their bodies. She loved everything about him, all his flaws she found were beautiful. Nothing he could say or do would drive Mary away from him. Her delicate fingers ran through his hair, undoing the bun she had done for him earlier, calming him down slowly, "Baby, my sweet wolf." She whispers, getting on her own knees slowly, "You are my everything. Nothing you say or do will change my love for you. I love you with everything that i am and more." She whispers to him.
Bucky buries his head into her shoulder, his arms wrap themselves around her gently. He doesn't say anything, for he has no words to offer her. He stands both of them back onto their feet. He looks at his wife, his gorgeous wife. Someone who's saved lives countless times. A person that puts others before herself in every situation. "I love you, my Luna." He whispers.
"I love you more, my wolf." She whispers back.
Peter cautiously knocks on the door, not wanting to interrupt anything between the couple, "Is it okay to come in?" He asks, "Fia can only play with Jamie for so long.. and i wanted to talk to both of you before she's done." Mary nods, sitting down on the couch in front of the fireplace and mantel for Steve's shield. Bucky situates himself behind Mary, his hands resting on her shoulders.
Peter clears his throat and pulls out a small velvet box out of his pocket. He cautiously sets it on the coffee table in front of the married couple, "W- With your permission.. i'd like to ask your daughter to marry me." Peter says, locking eyes with both Mary and Bucky.
Mary grins, looking at the ring, "It's beautiful, Peter." She whispers, but Bucky's stone cold features only scare Peter.
"I want to know how you'd treat her." Bucky says coldly.
Peter gulps, fumbling over his words before he looks up at the walls of the home, seeing pictures of Becca over the years. He remembers why he's here. Who he's here for. The life he wants to give Becca so badly.
"Sir, i love your daughter with every fiber of my being. I will protect her with everything that i am and more. I will give her anything her heart desires. I've loved her since the day we sat in the cafeteria with our friends in our sophomore year of high school and she was asking MJ and Michelle how to properly eat a chicken nugget." He replies, smiling at the memory, a small laugh escaping his lips, "I would gladly give my life for hers." He states, standing up, locking his eyes with Bucky's.
"And what if she happens to find someone else that makes her happier than you do." Bucky asks, his arms crossed. He wants to be absolutely sure that his daughter, his precious baby girl will be taken care of by the man standing in front of him and his wife.
Peter hesitates, dread fills his entire being, but he shakes his head, "Sir, if someone made her happier than i do.. i would let her go. Because her happiness means everything to me."
Bucky nods slowly, looking the kid over, then looks down at his pregnant wife, "What do you think?"
Mary nods in agreement with her husband, smiling when she turns to look back at Peter, "I just want to know two things." She says softly, her hands resting comfortably on her stomach.
Peter nods, "Anything."
"How will you ask her?" Mary asks her first question. She was a sucker for romantic gestures, and she knew Becca was the same. The daughter loved hearing how her father asked her mother to marry him. It was one of her favorite stories of their life in the 40's.
Peter grins widely, "She loves the wild flower fields here, even more at sunset. I planned on having a small picnic full set up for us with our favorite foods and a laptop that has her favorite movie for us to watch." He explains, "When the movie's over.. it'll be sunset if everything goes right. I plan on asking her then."
Mary smiles, nodding in satisfaction with his answer. "My second question." She starts, "Will i be given grandchildren?" She asks.
Peter's face flushes bright red, he and Becca had fooled around before but the two were always careful, knowing how her parents were on premarital intimacy. They decided to not go further then a heavy make out session and slight fonduing as Becca's Uncle Steve would put it.
"Um-" Peter murmurs, scratching the back of his neck, "I- uh.. we've talked about kids.." he mutters, "She seems to want them. And i've always wanted a family." Mary nods slowly. Smiling, she looks up at Bucky, their eyes locking, they both have their answer for Peter.
Bucky walks up closely to Peter, staring him down, "You hurt her. And i will break every bone in your body. Starting with little Peter." He growls out.
Mary rolls her eyes, "What he means is, yes, you have our permission to ask Becca to marry you." She says.
Peter's face breaks into a grin, "Really?" He asks, looking at Bucky, the man nods his head.
"You're good for her, Queens. That's all i want for her." Bucky states and then Mary, Bucky and Peter all heard a squeal from the door. Heads turn to see Jamie dancing in place. He has no coordination unlike his father, Mary's son entirely.
"You're gonna marry Sissy?" Jamie asks Peter. The young adult nods, squatting to meet eye level with his girlfriend's brother. Peter had grown fond of the young Barnes boy, looking out for him as if he was his own brother. Which if everything went according to plan, he would be.
"I hope so." Peter replies, "You think your sister will say yes when i ask her?"
Jamie nods his head rapidly, "Uh huh! She'll say yes." He says. "She loves you this much." He states, spreading his arms wide, hoping his point is getting across.
"Little Man, where is your sister?" Bucky asks his son, ruffling his hair, "I thought you were with her."
Jamie looks up at his father, "She's talking with U-Anti Shuri." Aunt, He says, "She wants to check on Ma."
Mary chuckles at her son, standing up, with the help of her husband, "Well let's not keep her waiting." She says, looking at Peter, "Go, do your plan and then tell us how it went." She says. "I expect details."
Peter smiles, kissing her cheek quickly, "Thanks, Mary." He says, jogging out of the home with the brother following behind.
Becca smiles when she sees Peter and her family. Everything about him makes her swoon and love him even more. His smile, his hair, his eyes, how he is with her brother just makes her love him even more. And her favorite part of Peter was his selfless nature. His love for everyone. And his ass. She loved his butt in his suits and in jeans. And it didn't hurt that during their make out sessions he often lost his shirt. His muscles on full display for her. She loved how sweet and kind he was with her during her hard times. She was utterly and hopelessly devoted to him. And he was the same in every way.
"My favorite patients!" Shuri calls out to Mary and Bucky, "I've come to check on baby wolf, i can assess the gender as well." The married couple grins at Shuri, they planned to stay in Wakanda until after the baby was born. Stephen made plans to come out to aide Shuri in delivering the baby in Wakanda. The couple wanted Steve to be present for the baby's birth, hoping he stayed with them long enough for it. Shuri promised them that despite Steve's age, the serum was aiding in him still being alive. He'd live well past 110 by her predictions.
When they got to Shuri's lab, T'Challa and Okoye were waiting for them, both parties adored the petite doctor, the soldier and their spitfire son.
"Okoye!" Mary exclaims, grinning, "And T'Challa, i didn't know you two were going to be here."
"Shuri told us that today you'd find out the gender of your baby wolf." Okoye says, smiling at her friend.
All of Wakanda knew the Barnes family as the Wolves of Wakanda. The small country's secondary line of defense. Bucky was their White Wolf, the Alpha, Mary was their Gray Wolf, the Luna, Becca was their Red Wolf, the princess, and Jamie was their Golden Wolf, the heir. Each color had it's own meaning for the Wakandan natives. White signified valor and victory. Gray signified trustworthiness and compassion. Red signified energetic and full of life. Yellow signified happiness and joy.
"Will we have our blue wolf perhaps?" T'Challa asks, smiling.
"We'll see, wont we?" Mary teases, "Purple and Blue are left, right?" She asks the Wakandans in the room.
Okoye nods, "Blue for confidence and strength. Purple for magic and mystery." Mary nods as she steps into the changing room, changing out of her sundress into jean shorts and one of Bucky's shirts. They were huge on her, engulfing her tiny figure but they were the most comfortable thing she could find with she was pregnant, it being the only thing that would fit her by the time she was ready to have the baby. When Mary stepped out, she smiled at the group as Bucky assisted his wife into the medical chair.
Shuri lifted Mary's shirt, using her Kimoyo beads to scan her baby bump. Mary had been given a bracelet of her own when she become the royal Advisor, Bucky receiving his own after his mind was healed. Shuri threw the live feed of the baby the beads had gotten onto the wall in front of the group, the sound of the heartbeat strong, vibrating through the lab. "Strong. The baby's heart is strong." Shuri says proudly, "Blue." She states, smiling, "I think we have our Blue Wolf." Bucky grins, kissing his wife's forehead as Shuri continues to look over the live feed, laughing as the baby gives them a wide view. "And i also believe we have a girl."
Mary grins widely, "I knew it."
Bucky smiles back at his wife, "Stesha Grace." He says, holding his wife's hand. The three Wakandans smile, but they know the name has meaning. All their children's names have meaning to the couple.
"What does it mean?" Okoye asks.
Mary looks at the three, "Stesha is Stephanie in Russian, Stephanie is the female version of Steven and Stephen." She explains.
"And Grace is a G name, Steve's middle name is Grant." Bucky points out.
Shuri smiles, "You're naming your baby after Mr America and the wizard." She concludes.
Mary nods, "And we went with Stesha because of Nat."
"She was Russian." T'Challa puts the pieces together, smiling softly. Shuri prints out pictures for the couple as they leave per Mary's request. Always wanting photo evidence of her babies.
Soon the two were walking to visit Steve in his bedroom of the palace. Mary knocked on the door, hearing Steve as she opened the door. Her brother was laying in bed, reading a book he had been given by Becca recently. "There's my two favorite people." Steve says, putting a bookmark in the book, shutting it.
"I'm here too Uncle Stevie!" Jamie says, grinning as he runs up to his uncle, they had picked him up from being with M'Baku, wanting Jamie to see his Uncle as much as possible, "Sissy's gonna get married maybe!"
Steve grins at his nephew, "Oh, is she now?" He questions, looking at Bucky, "And how are you taking that, Buck?" Steve knew his brother too well to know that the Sergeant was not handling it well. Being protective was in Bucky's nature, had been since the trio were children. And he was even more protective over his children and wife. His beloved family.
Bucky shrugs, smirking a bit, "I put the fear of God into the kid. I can't complain." He says, "He makes her happy. That's all i want for her."
Steve nods, smiling, looking over at his sister, "You're glowing, Lizzie." He comments, "Any baby news for me?"
Mary nods, climbing beside him in the bed, holding out the pictures, "If you look at this one you can see her showing us full frontal." She teases.
Steve laughs, looking over the sonogram picture but then stops, looking at his sister, "Her?" He asks, "You're having a girl?"
Jamie grins, "I'm gonna protect her! I'll kick everyone's butts if they mess with my little sissy." He sates, throwing finger guns everywhere and punches into the air.
Bucky chuckles at his son, picking him up and setting him on his shoulders, "We'll protect her and Becca, wont we bud."
"Yeah!" Jamie agrees.
Steve smiles, "Well? What's my niece's name?" He asks.
Mary smiles back, "Stesha Grace." She was proud of the name she and her husband had come up with for their Blue Wolf, their warrior of a daughter.
The brother nods, smiling, "That's beautiful, Lizzie." He says, "Now what does it mean."
Mary laughs, "You know we still had to name a baby after you, Stevie."
Steve smirks, "I know, but how does Stesha equal my name?"
Bucky chuckles, "Stesha is Russian, for Natasha, but is the Russian version of Stephanie."
"Stephanie is the female version of Stephen and Steven." Mary finishes, Steve can't stop smiling at this point.
"Three birds with one name." The brother teases, "Thank you, it's beautiful. What wolf is she?"
"Blue." Bucky answers, "Confidence and Strength."
"When Shuri announced Stesha was the Blue Wolf, i could see Okoye already picturing training her to be in the Dora Milaje." She teases.
Bucky chuckles, "I saw that as well."
Steve smiles, "And Becca is getting engaged to Queens Jamie said?"
Mary nods, "Peter asked for our permission earlier today."
"Mama! Papa!" The group hears Becca from down the hall, a smile they've never seen before on her face. She was beaming. Peter is behind her, the same smile on his face.
"Baby girl, what is it?" Bucky asks, Jamie still perched on his shoulders and his arms take hold of his daughter.
"P- Peter-" she stops herself, regaining her breath a she holds up her left hand, "Peter asked me to marry him!" She exclaims.
Mary grins, "Becca, that's amazing!" She exclaims back, climbing off the bed and walking over to her daughter. Taking her hand, looking the ring over. It wasn't big and fancy like other rings they had seen throughout the years. It was simple, it was timeless, it was Becca. A diamond set in the middle of the silver band, little diamonds surrounded both sides of the center diamond. Mary knew it was Peter's mother's ring. She had remembered seeing it when May showed her things that had been left to Peter by his parents. The ring being one of them.
"It's so beautiful, Mama." The daughter whispers, waving at her uncle, "Hi Uncle Steve." She says, grinning. She couldn't contain her happiness, and nobody was going to stop her.
"Hi B." He replies, looking over the pictures again, grabbing the album from his bedside table, finding an empty page, sliding them into the photo album.
Peter smiles, "So that's our news." He states, glancing at Bucky, "I'll treat her right." He declares.
"I know you will." Bucky says, "Because if you didn't. Becca would take you down."
Peter laughs, nodding, "She would. And i would gladly let her any day if i didn't treat her the way she deserves."
"Good." Bucky says, "Becca won't be Mary and I's only daughter."
Peter's mouth is agape, Becca overhears and gasps, "I'm getting a sister?" She asks, looking at her mother.
Mary and Bucky nod, "Stesha."
Becca grins, "You went with my pick!" She exclaims, looking at Peter, "You owe me ten bucks." She teases, holding out her hand.
Peter rolls his eyes, pulling a ten from his pocket, putting it in his fiancé's hand, bringing her knuckles to his lips, kissing her knuckles. Mary smiles, looking at Bucky, "I love the family we've created." She tells him, tickling Jamie's leg which is seated on her husband's shoulder.
Bucky nods, kissing her lips, "I'm proud of what we've made together." He says, his hand placing itself on her stomach, "I'm happy it was with you."
"I wouldn't have it any other way, James." Mary says, smiling at her husband, moving a strand of hair from his face, placing it behind his ear.

I wrote this out months ago, probably around November when i was still figuring out my writing style. But this one has always had a special spot in my heart. It can be a continuation of Home if you want it to be, or a one shot by itself. I feel like it can be interpreted either way.
Some things in this one shot are canon and some are not. But i'll let you try and figure out which is which.
I have two more one shots that connect with this one. With the three of them together, i love them so much. These one shots are so precious to me, and i'm so happy i found them.
