Daybreak

Mary groaned as she shifted on the bed, she was just about nine months along with Stesha's pregnancy. Everyone was on edge around her, knowing she could go into labor any time now. Bucky was waiting on his wife hand and foot as much as he could when he wasn't called to missions with the other Avengers. The team was still a necessity to the world, aiding in taking down gangs and other crime related business. Hydra was still attempting to come back so Bucky, Wanda, Sam and Becca had been leaving for weeks on end trying to take them down. It meant Mary was alone, heavily pregnant, in an African country, for more than anyone liked to admit. So to help with that, Peter was often around Mary, entertaining Jamie when she wasn't able to and her energy was drained due to the pregnancy.

The door opened to the home Mary and Bucky had built five years ago, the expecting mother turned her head to see her husband and daughter walk into the home, covered in dirt, blood and bruises. Peter rushed to his fiancé, checking her over, "Fia, how did it go?" He asks her.

Becca smiles, "It went well.. Papa has a dislocated shoulder though."

Mary attempts to stand up, but fails, looking at her husband as he holds his flesh arm close to his body, "I can reset it."

Bucky looks over at his wife, "No. Luna, you're in no condition to reset my shoulder." He was leaving no room for his wife to protest, "I'll go to Shuri and it'll be fine."

The hazel eyed mother huffs, crossing her arms over her chest, "I'm still a doctor, James." She retorts, "I may be carrying a baby, but i can still preform my duties. But i need help up." She murmurs the last part. Peter rushes over, grabbing Mary's hands and pulling her up with ease, he had his super strength to thank for that. Mary adjusts her shirt that she stole from Bucky over her giant stomach. The only shirts that fit her now were her husbands. She was the largest she'd ever been during a pregnancy and it worried Bucky and Mary about the future when she would have to deliver. Mary reties her sweatpants and she instructs Bucky to sit down, "Sit." She states, her husband wanting to protest but the look his wife has on her face says he should just follow through.

"Peter, i need you to place your foot on the inside of shoulder, close to his chest." She says, "I physically cannot reset it but i can guide you through doing it." She says. Peter's eyes go wide as he looks at Bucky.

"Are you sure?" Peter asks, Becca and Jamie are just watching everything unfold, laughing at Peter's nerves.

Mary nods, "Do it." She says, "I don't have all day."

Peter gulps, nodding as he walks towards Bucky, lifting his leg and placing his foot onto the sergeants chest, the man in question groans in discomfort, making Peter even more nervous, "Okay.. now what?"

"Grab his arm with your hands and pull." Mary says, "With your super strength and his rapid healing it should be quick."

Peter's eyes go wide, looking at Bucky, "Um.. This may hurt?" He says questionably.

Bucky rolls his eyes, "Just do it, okay, Queens?" He wasn't in the mood for chatting with his daughter's fiance while his shoulder was out of it's socket. Peter nods, glancing at Becca before looking back at Bucky's arm, grabbing his wrist. He clenches his teeth when he pulls on Bucky's arm. There's a popping sound that comes from the arm.

Bucky groans in pain and relief as Peter backs away slowly, "Did i do it?"

Mary nods, "Yes, you did it." She tells Peter.

"Benji." Becca calls out, smiling at Peter, her arms open for him as she stands up. Peter smiles back at his girlfriend, walking to her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind as the two walk up the stairs to her room.

Bucky smiles at his wife as he rolls his arm, "Kid did a good job." He murmurs, "I'll thank him later." Mary nods, walking to her husband, standing in between his legs. He sits up, his hands placed on his wife's giant stomach, "I missed you Stesha." He murmurs, chuckling as he feels a kick aimed at his metal hand, Mary winces in pain when their daughter kicks again, Bucky hesitates. "Stesha has my strength, doesn't she." Bucky says softly.

Mary nods slowly, "It appears so.." she murmurs, "But so does Jamie." She reminds her husband, "His kicks hurt as well."

Bucky nods slowly, showering her stomach in kisses, "You need to go easy on your Ma, Stesha. She's strong but not right now." He tells the baby.

The husband looks up at his wife, seeing her legs shaking, his eyes widen as she falls onto his lap. Bucky's quick to catch her before Mary hurts herself, "Luna!" He shouts, "What happened?" Everything in his body is going crazy with worry for his wife. He'd never seen her in this bad of shape before.

Mary shakes her head as Bucky lifts her up carefully, setting her on the bed, "Stesha makes it difficult to stand for long periods of time.. that's all."

Bucky looks his wife over, "Positive?"

Mary nods, "I am. I went through this exact thing with Becca and Jamie.. Winnie was early."

Bucky nods slowly, "I missed so much." He murmurs, burying his head into her chest. Mary runs her fingers through his scalp.

"Shh, it's alright." She whispers, "You're here now."

The sergeant looks up at his wife, nodding slowly, "I promised Steve i'd see him when i got back." He murmurs, "You'll be okay?"

Mary nods, "Yes, i'll be just fine, i have my book and then i'll probably take a nap with Jamie. He's been my napping buddy."

Bucky chuckles, smiling at his wife, kissing her lips, resting his forehead on hers, "You call me on the beads if you need anything, understand?"

Mary nods, kissing his lips once more, "I will. I promise."

"She is just fine, Buck." Steve says to his brother and best friend, "You don't need to get stressed over it. Did she tell you it happened with Jamie?" Bucky nods slowly, he had arrived at Steve's room an hour ago and told Steve how the mission went and his concerns for Mary's health with how close she was to giving birth.

"Yeah, she did. You were there, what did you do?" The husband asks.

"Besides panicking? I just was there for her like you've been doing. It was stressful for all of us after the snap, we were all still in shock and in mourning. Tony made sure that Jamie's birth was going to have everyone present, something good coming out of everything that happened." Steve explains, smiling, "Then five months after Jamie was born, Morgan was. When those two are around, they're inseparable." Bucky chuckles, nodding. When they were back in the states, Morgan and Jamie were constantly around each other, always getting themselves into trouble. Pepper loved Jamie but when the two kids were together, the three parents were never far behind the two trouble makers.

"They still are. Jamie's going stir crazy not having anyone his age to play with here." Bucky comments.

"You'll be back in the states soon. Once Stesha is born and a few months old." Steve replies.

"And you'll be here. Away from everyone."

Steve shakes his head, "No, i'll be fine. Becca said she'll stay a bit longer after you leave. She wants me to give my thoughts on some of the wedding planning."

Bucky chuckles, nodding, "Her and Mary together talking about the wedding is madness."

"And how do you feel about that?"

Bucky hesitates, "About the wedding?" He asks and his brother nods, "I don't think it's hit me yet that my daughter, that i didn't even know i had 'til i met her in the Red Room seventy years later is getting married in five months. It doesn't seem real."

Steve nods, "I remember that feeling, with Peggy and I's children. I walked all four of my daughters down the isle." He says softly, "Each time it affected me differently."

Bucky looks at his brother, Steve rarely talked about the life he had with Peggy. But when he did, everyone that was in the room listened. "What were there names?" Bucky asks.

Steve smiles, looking up at the ceiling, "Mary Jane Rogers was our first daughter, second born after our son, Joseph James." He says, "It was Joey, Jane, Winnifred, our twins Sofia and Sarah, then Grant and then our youngest, Robert." He lists, smiling, "Peggy and I never planned on a big family, but we were grateful for it."

Bucky's blue eyes were wide, "Seven?" He asks, Steve nods, "You said twins?"

Steve nods again, "Sofia and Sarah, they were a surprise. We planned on Sarah but not Sofia."

Bucky hesitates, "Shuri said twins are genetic." He trails off.

"Mary and I's grandmother was a twin." He says, "It's our genes."

Bucky leans back in his chair, "You said Mary is the biggest you've ever seen her pregnant?" He asks, "What do you mean?"

Steve nods, "I saw her pregnant with both Winnie and Jamie, she was never as big as she is now with Stesha." He murmurs, "You may want Shuri to check if you're having twins, Buck."

Mary woke up in her bed two weeks after Bucky got home from his mission with Becca to a soaked bed. She had felt contractions on and off the past two days but knew nothing was going to come of it until her water broke. Which it had just done.

"James." She whispers, "James, wake up, please." She says a little louder, the pain of a contraction drawing a scream out of her lips. Bucky jerked awake, looking his wife over.

"Mary, what's happened? Is Stesha is okay?" He asks as Peter rushes into the bedroom, Becca went to get Jamie.

Mary barely is able to say their daughter's name before she screams in pain, clutching onto Bucky's metal hand tightly. Becca rushes into the room with a groggy Jamie in her arms, "Mama's gone into labor, Papa!" She states, "Her Kymoyo beads should have alerted Uncle Steph and Shuri." Bucky's whole body goes rigid, he remembers his Ma in labor with his sisters, it was hours before anyone knew anything. But that was close to eighty years ago. Things were different now. Very different.

Mary looks at her husband, "J- James." She stutters out, her breathing is shallow as another contraction hits her, she screams in pain. Sweat beads down her face as Bucky then understands what's happening, he turns to his wife, his lips connect with hers as a way to comfort her.

Shuri and Stephen arrive ten minutes later at the home, "Mary?" Stephen speaks up, rushing over to her, looking her over, "How're you holding up?"

Mary smiles at Stephen weakly, "They hurt so much." She breathes out, "I don't remember the others hurting this badly." Bucky had left to get her the ice chips they had prepared in their freezer, Shuri and Stephen both agreed she wouldn't be able to be transported due to her pain levels.

"Her pain is higher than it should be." Shuri says to Stephen, "What do you think is wrong?"

Stephen hesitates, "More pain indicates something is not right with the baby." He replies, "Which means we need to act fast."

Mary looks between them, "Please- please don't let Stesha die. I can't lose another baby." She cries out, Bucky by her side in an instant, he's brushing her hair out of her face, she had only gone into labor possibly two hours ago and was already in massive pain. Stephen and Shuri had to act quickly to save Mary and Stesha's life.

More hours of pain ridden labor go by, all Bucky can do is watch the love of his life go through so much pain in her small body. The pain of watching her eats away at him and at one point he removes himself from the home. He stares at the lake, tears threatening to fall from his blue eyes. He hears footsteps but pays them no mind as he grips a small tree and pulls it from the ground. He throws it across the lake in frustration with himself and with everything in his mind.

"She'll be alright, Buck." The husband hears Steve say. Bucky turns around to face his brother.

"I feel so damn useless." Bucky says through his clenched teeth, "I can't do anything for her!" He snaps, "She's crying out in pain and all i can do is sit there and hold her hand."

Steve nods slowly, "I get that. I was the same way with Peg." He murmurs, "I wanted to take the pain from her, i pleaded with God to ease her pain for her sake and for mine." He adds, "But it's apart of life."

Bucky sits down on the ground, looking out at the lake as the sun begins to rise, "What if i lose her?" He asks, "I can't live without her."

"What do you think she had to do when we came back to the campsite without you." Steve retorts, "She said the exact same thing. She said she couldn't live without you. But she did, and she did it with a smile on her face despite the pain that happened around her."

"I'm not her, though." Bucky points out, "She is the only one that can calm down my breakdowns, that can soothe me out of my attacks. She drives my demons away."

Steve nods slowly, "You'll have Becca to help you raise Jamie and Stesha. Peter will help as well, so will every single one of the Avengers." Bucky hesitates, he never truly understood the impact his wife made on everyone, but it was a unanimous decision the Avengers had made long ago that if something happened to Mary. That they would band together and raise her children right. Bucky runs his hands through his long hair, as he looks out at the lake, watching Peter and Jamie run into the lake. Becca probably asked Peter to entertain Jamie and take his mind off his Ma in a lot of pain.

Becca sits down next to her Papa, smiling as she watches Peter strip his clothes off, leaving him in his cargo shorts as he helps Jamie into his swim trunks. Becca chuckles, "I know Mama is going through a lot, but i'm excited to start my life with Peter."

Bucky looks at his daughter, "Even seeing your Ma in that much pain?"

Becca nods, "I am, i know it's a lot of pain, but it's worth it in the end, seeing the life you made with your wife or husband." She says, "It's almost magical."

Bucky hesitates, "How did you react when your Ma finally came clean about what she went through when she lost Winnie?"

Becca hesitates, remembering their time after Ultron had affected their minds. Being at Clint's farm. "It wasn't good, i was mad at her for keeping it from me, and i was mad at you for sneaking off to see her when we were on the run." She murmurs, "I noticed she was skinnier than before, but i didn't realize that she was slowly gaining all her weight back that she had lost from the depression."

Bucky nods, "I saw her the day she had Winnie.." he mutters, "She could barely move let alone speak. I had to get it out of her to find out what happened." He says, "I wont lose her. She's lived too long to die from having Stesha." Becca leaned her head on her Papa's shoulder, watching the sun rise as Peter played with Jamie in the lake.

Hours soon turned into a day. The longest it had ever taken Mary to give birth. That didn't weigh easily on Bucky's conscience. It was dawn of the next day, Bucky had gone in and out of their home, wanting to be there for Mary, but she was in and out on consciousness several times. Stephen and Shuri thought it was best if everyone waited outside until the delivery was over with. So there everyone waited, outside by the lake, the goats had come around and visited everyone. Bucky had taken up a job of raising goats when Shuri had officially taken the trigger words out of his mind.

It was daybreak when a quinjet landed close by the lake and where the house was. Bucky saw nearly all the Avengers exit out of the jet. His blue eyes went wide as Wanda and everyone else had brought the Barnes family food, baby clothes, and anything else they would need. The Sergeant stood up, walking over to Sam, "What is all of this?" He asks his friend.

"Shuri sent out the signal to all of us. It said Mary went into labor yesterday and we all needed to be here." Sam replies as he places his hand on his friend's shoulder, "We're all here for you and your family, Bucky."

Wanda smiles as she hugs Becca, then walks over to Bucky, "Is she in the house? I could possibly ease her pain levels." She says, Bucky nods, pointing towards the house.

"Please, help her." He whispers to his wife's best friend. Her sister.

Seven more hours went by, it was nearing ten in the morning when crying woke up everyone outside. The team had pitched tents outside with the help of the Wakandan natives around the area. Bucky was the first to stand up, Wanda stepped out of the house.

Bucky rushed himself over to his friend, "Wanda, how is she?"

"Mary will be fine, so will Stesha." She says, smiling, "She's exhausted but wants to see you."

Bucky's face breaks out into a grin as he walks into the house, seeing Stephen in a corner of the house with Shuri going over things while Mary is holding Stesha.

He slowly walks over, "Luna." He whispers, seeing Stesha asleep.

Mary looks up, "She's perfect." She says, "Everything about her is perfect. She's even a blonde." She adds, smiling, "Winnie was our last blonde." Bucky smiles, then hears more crying, but it's not Stesha. When he turns around to face Shuri and Stephen, he's greeted by another baby that's carefully placed into his arms.

"You have another daughter, Mr Barnes." Shuri says, smiling, "The Purple Wolf."

"She was our mystery." Mary says, "I had given birth to Stesha and thought we were done. When more contractions hit me and Stephen put the pieces together and found out i had been carrying twins this whole time."

Bucky's still in shock, but a smile never leaves his face, "What's her name then? We didn't plan for another kid." He teases the last sentence.

Mary laughs, "I don't know." She says, but thinks, the one person she hasn't named one of her children after is one of her most special people. "Antonia Elise Barnes." She says softly, "Toni for short." She adds, tears falling from her hazel eyes.

Bucky nods, "I think it's perfect." He says, "Stesha and Toni."

Mary smiles as Bucky shifts Toni in his arms, "She looks so small in your arms."

The father chuckles, "I feel like i could break her."

"You wont." A voice says, Steve steps into the home, smiling, his cane assisting him, "I felt the same way when all of my kids were born." He says, "You think you'll break them, but they'll break you first."

Bucky laughs quietly, turning to Mary, "Should we tell everyone?"

"Everyone? I thought only Wanda came."

Steve shakes his head, "No, everyone that was able to make it out is here. Even Thor." Thor had arrived shortly after the other Avengers did. He was currently entertaining the Barnes children, showing Becca how to plate intricate Asgardian braids like he had shown her in the past. Mary grins, nodding as Bucky carefully situates both babies into each of his arms. He walks out of the house to the outside.

"Everyone?" Bucky calls out, drawing their attention, "Meet the newest additions to the Barnes family." He says. Everyone's mouths fall open and cheers erupt from the group.

Becca runs up to her father with Peter, Jamie and Sam following close behind, "Twins, Papa?" She asks.

He nods, smiling at Sam, then looks at all of them, "Stesha Grace and Antonia Elise." He says, "Toni for short." He adds.

Peter's mouth falls open, "Toni? After Mr Stark?" H asks, looking at his fiance.

Becca nods, "Mhmm, after Buddy." She says, smiling at her Papa.

Part 2 of the 3 one shots that are connected!

Stesha and Toni are precious and no one can change my mind.

But again, some of this is canon, other parts are not, but i'm letting you figure that out for yourself.
