Chapter Two!

Okay. Here. Oh man, I miss this screen, I've been typing on my notepad because it's offline but this screen... Ah, memories. Anyways, here's chapter two (btw there's no word count for my notepad so I have no idea how many words this is, it may be too short)

Annabeth's POV

I picked at my food the next morning. No one was really eating, except the oblivious other campers. They knew Percy had passed, they didn't know how or why, which is why they were trying to stay upbeat, feeding off of the fact that Percy wouldn't want us to mourn. It's been five years, and the seven and Nico are still depressed while the campers are happily bustling about. We told Rachel because, well, she's the oracle. She needs to know everything. Thalia also knows. She actually dropped out of the hunt so she could stay with us at Camp Half-Blood. Artemis was a little sad, but understanding. She let Thalia go without any further punishments. After lunch, we did what we always did- Went to Percy's grave. We all met on the beach, and were about to head towards his grave when something that chilled us all sounded.

The conch horn. Three times in a row.

"Attack." Thalia whispered. We all looked towards her pine, which monsters were passing by like it was nothing, like there was no boundary.

We all exchanged looks before running as fast as we could, drawing our weapons as we approached. Campers were already lining up in defense, ready to strike, then there was a blinding flash that made everyone cover their eyes and look away. It was like a god or goddess showing their true form, but ten times as powerful. I dropped to my knees as the light penetrated through my closed eyelids, making my knees turn to putty. When I opened my eyes, there was a figure standing in the middle of the crowd of monster dust. They stood at least 6 feet, and they were wearing an entirely black cloak that crept down at a widows peek between their eyes, covering almost half of their nose. A black cloth mask covered the lower half of their face, so only a thin strip of skin was left bare across their eyes, which were a dark, murky green. The cloak was light and airy, made of layers of dark grey and black that seemed to move like living shadows when they moved. A sword dangled from the figures hand, made from a pure black metal that I immediately recognized as something even gods thought was a myth- Void Metal. Metal mined by the slaves of the worst of the worst, the people who went to the void instead of the Fields of Punishment. It's also said that the gods or immortals that fade have their hearts weighed using an ancient Egyptian method, and if you did more evil than you went to the void and if you did more good you went to Chaos to join a supposed elite army. Those were all legends though. However, how did the figure have a Void metal sword then? No one, not even Void himself, can leave the Void, and no one is allowed to enter unless you're there to stay there for eternity. The sword had black smoke curling around its blade, leaving a soft trail as the figure walked towards us. Another figure appeared; and they were the complete opposite of the first person.

They wore the same style cloak as the first figure, but it was gold and pure white. A white blade the glowed bright and had a golden glow surrounding it hung at the second figure's hips. Blond hair poked out from underneath their hood, with icy blue eyes and tan skin. He sighed, looking around. He waved his hand and the dust vanished. "I told you not to leave yet," the second figure, male, judging by the voice, sighed. "I wanted to help!" The first figure simply looked over at him with what seemed like a permanent monotone stare.

"Okay, never mind," the angelic-looking male sighed, then turned to face us again, "please, do not be alarmed. I know that my comrade over here probably scared you, but we're not a threat. In fact, we're allies, if you accept our help. There's another huge war, and we've been granted permission to help you. There is no prophecy for this war; and no quests. It is simply defend yourselves the best you can with our help and hope that you survive."

I looked between the two figures hesitantly. "I, for one, have multiple questions before we accept your help."

"I figured it would be you to say that. Go on," Male number two encouraged. I was slightly confused as to how he figured it would be me, but I proceeded with my first question.

"Who are you?"

"Well, we are the top soldiers in the Army of Chaos. My comrade comes first before me, and I come right after him. I'm Omega or Angel, and he's Alpha or Devil."

"I thought that the armies were simply legends, however I see that... Alpha... Has a void metal blade as well as you two claiming to be from Chaos' army."

"I understand that those were taught as legends; myths. However, we live in a world of fantasy, do we not?" Angel asked, spreading his arms out.

I nodded. "Question two, what are we going against?"

"Good question, very good question actually. Well, we're going up all the typical Greek monsters, a few Egyptian and Norse, but they should be easy. The... Well, the real reason the war is breaking out is recently some prisoners from the Void have escaped and are trying to destroy this planet; the planet to which sent them to the Void in the first place. As you know, only the absolute worst, most powerful people and immortals were put in the Void. Now... At least seven are claimed missing, and we're still hearing updates. Void can't find the gap, or figure out how they're escaping."

"Wait, doesn't Void hate us? Wouldn't he be helping them?" Nico asked, a look of confusion spreading across his face.

"That is one of the actually myths to deal with the Void. Void is actually on our side; we feed his land and make him more powerful by giving him prisoners. He and Chaos have a pact to make sure that Void can do whatever he wants in the Void as long as it doesn't interfere with outer-world lives, which means he has his own kingdom with slaves and prisoners in the Void. It's a sick deal, as Void is not nearly as kind as Chaos to his men, however, he's not going against any of the laws made with the pact," Angel responded, nodding.

"Okay..." I said, trying to think. "So you two are the two most powerful, skilled people in the army?" I asked. Angel nodded. "Why isn't Alpha speaking?"

"I would like you to agree to our alliance before we give too much away about ourselves. Of course, if you don't agree, your memories will be wiped and the world will be destroyed as you know it, within the next four months. Do you, Camp Half-Blood, agree to become alliances with the Army of Chaos for this war?" Angel asked.

I looked over at Chiron, who looked stressed. Eventually, he nodded. "We accept your offer of alliance. We thank you for your help," Chiron spoke, his bold voice echoing over the hills.

Angel took a small bow of respect. "Of course. Now, for Annabeth's question, Alpha simply doesn't talk. He can, he choses not to." How he knew my name? No clue.

"How do you communicate during battles then?" I asked, looking between them.

Angel tapped his head. "We're telepathic." He paused, then added, "he wants me to tell you that there's a difference between telepathy and telekinesis, which is moving things with your mind. Though we can kind of do that too."

Alpha paused then rolled his eyes. "I don't care."

"No, I- I seriously don't care if you do or don't."

"Yes I am aware that I am speaking out loud."

"Because my head it to hectic to talk without you being overwhelmed."

Omega groaned and grabbed Alpha by the shoulders, shaking him slightly. "I! Don't! Care!"

Alpha shoved Angel off of him, glaring, while Angel rolled his eyes, then spoke again. "Cool. Do it. I literally do. Not. Care."

Alpha flipped him off while Angel shook his head, rolling his eyes. "Watch yourself Alpha. Chaos may come take you for another 'field trip,'" Angel teased.

Alpha once again flipped Angel off and turned to face us. "Why do I have to- Ugh. Fine. Okay, I'll be Alpha's voice from now on," Angel sighed, turning to face the crowd as well. I could feel the confusion radiating from our group.

"He would like me to tell you that he is- I can't say that!" Angel exclaimed, slapping Alpha on the arm, "you know I don't cuss!"

"Fine. He would like me to tell you that he is freaking- I'm not saying the actual cusses Alpha, deal with it- mad- No I won't say even that- at a lot of people from this camp but would like to reveal himself just so that everything doesn't go to Hades and absolute crap when he tries to hide who he really is."

"You fucking suck," Alpha finally spoke, "you won't even say ticked off? I said that when I was fucking seven years old!" His voice was clearly annoyed.

"Language," Angel simply replied with a drawn out sigh.

"Fuck you," Alpha said, glaring at him.

"You wish," Angel muttered.

Alpha kicked Angel behind the legs and brought him to his knees. Angel made a grunt of surprise but stood, pulling down the bottom half of his mask to spit out some blood. "Great, made me bight my tongue. Thanks."

"Thank you, your pain brought me great pleasure and amusement," Alpha said, his voice still monotone but annoyed.

I was extremely confused. They showed up all professional like, but now they were acting like teenagers. Very annoying teenagers. "Can you just tell us who you are?" Nico asked, sounding annoyed.

"Yeah ALPHA," Angel agreed.

Alpha pulled down the lower half of his mask to reveal a scowl. "I hate you so, so much."

"Oh you love me."

"You wish."

I sighed, looking over at the giant clock. We've been standing here for almost forty minutes now. "C'mon Alpha, people are getting restless. They're a bunch of ADHD teenagers."

"We're ADHD teenagers," Alpha reminded him.

"Yeah, but they're 200 ADHD demigods," Angel pointed out.

"Okay, no disrespect, but you two could talk all day, so can we leave or is something going to happen?" I asked, getting annoyed. Murmurs of agreement rang across the crowd.

"Fine," Alpha said, scowling per usual. He reached up, grabbing the sides of his hood, then pulled it down. Everyone was dead silent as he scowled out at us.

"P-Percy?" Nico stammered. His pale, skinny hands trembled at his side. "Is- Is it really you?"

"No, I'm a clone of him running around blowing up planets," he said sarcastically.

"I'm so, so sorry Percy," I whispered. All chatter stopped dead.

"It's too late for that. I died. I'm back. I was forced to come here. If it were my choice, I'd leave all of you for dead. Fortunately-" Percy grabbed the back of Angel's hood and pulled it down, "Angel wasn't expecting that and he's now going to get pissed at me."

"Hey! Dude, not cool!" Angel quickly pulled his hood back up, but it was too late. We all saw who it was.

"So Chaos is basically resurrecting a bunch of people from the dead? Because I'm 300% sure that Luke killed himself like eight years ago," Nico said, looking between them. Luke sighed and pulled down his hood.

"Yeah, he is. And yeah, I did. Percy! You complete-" Luke punched Percy in the shoulder, hard. "Jackass! I hate you!"

"I know," Percy said, looking over at Luke, "was that supposed to hurt, by the way?"

"No, it wasn't," Luke said with a sigh, then turned to face everyone again.

"So, the new and new and NOT improved Percy and the new and improved me, basically."

"Did you just call me a downgrade?" Percy asked.

"Uh, yeah. It's better to have the preppy Percy than whatever the heck you are."

Percy stared at him. "How do you expect me to be preppy after what happened?"

"Um... Not really." Luke looked directly at me with a slight glare.

"Who are you glaring at?" Percy asked, then turned and saw me. "Oh. Right."

"Okay, first, would the seven please come up here please? The rest, please leave and continue to your typical activities."

After about three minutes, everyone had cleared out but the people who were on Olympus the day that... The day that things happened. We all looked at each other nervously. Half the people looked like they were going to cry as we walked up to them. Percy and Luke were obviously having an argument- not out loud. Then Luke turned to face us, same with Percy. "Okay. We need to talk about... Well, Percy."

"Right here," Percy muttered bitterly.

"Yeah, about you with you," Luke said with a sigh. "Anyways. So... We found out what happened. Chaos told us."

"Basically-"

"Um, no, you're not explaining," Luke said, cutting Percy off. "Anyways, it turns out that down in Tartarus, Percy got a curse that, unfortunately, can't be fully cured but can be pushed back and the effects can be minimized with a lot of medicine, like a sickness. Basically, he got almost a second personality, but more of a blood-thirsty insane psychopath mood switch than anything. Luckily, he's on a LOT of medicine that makes that mostly go away, unless he's either really mad or really depressed."

"Which happens a lot," Percy muttered.

"Anyways," Luke continued, glaring at Percy momentarily, "that's what made him act like that in Tartarus, with Annabeth and alone. On the surface, however, that was just... Well, his mind being his mind, like it has been since he was seven."

"Not seve- Oh, wait. Yeah. Never mind," Percy said with a short sigh.

"What about the-the power thing?" I asked hesitantly.

"Oh, basically his mom is a descendant of Chaos and since his dad is too, he got really powerful and a bunch of weird abilities. He didn't even know about it until he accidentally got mad and blew up a tree with lightning," Luke explained. "Now, one last thing to talk about before we take a break. Percy, well, killing himself."

I swallowed hard and Percy picked at his nails boredly. "What's there to talk about?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.

"Why he did it."

"That's easy, why does it need to be discussed?" Percy asked, his voice quick, his tone almost desperate.

"Because, I need to make sure they all know."

"Why?" Percy demanded.

"Because they deserve to know Percy," Luke sighed, setting a hand gently on his shoulder. This time, Percy didn't shrug it off.

"What did they do to deserve it?" Percy snapped, "name one thing!"

"They're your friends Percy."

"Well not anymore! FRIENDS don't drive you to kill yourself!" Percy yelled, then vanished. Luke's hand fell through the air, and he sighed sadly.

"I'll go find him. You guys look around camp."

Without another word, we separated and stared to search. Thoughts were rushing through my head so fast I couldn't hold onto one, and I felt numb. Emotionally and physically. I finally stumbled onto the beach and found them both. It took me a second to process what was happening though. Once it did process, I was stunned. They were KISSING. Luke had his hands on either side of Percy's shoulders, trapping him against the wall as he kissed him. It was a sweet kiss though; an emotional one, and I realized that Percy was crying. He seemed to get better as the kiss went on, however. When they finally pulled away from each other they immediately hugged afterwards. "I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry," Luke whispered, rocking Percy slightly back and forth. "I wish that you didn't have to do this, I really do..."

Percy sniffled and nodded, burying his face into Luke's chest and starting to cry again. Luke squeezed his eyes shut painfully and hugged Percy even tighter. "I think that we should go back home for a little while," Luke muttered, continuing to hug Percy, "we don't want anyone to see you crying." Percy nodded.

"Do you want me to carry you?" Luke asked. Percy nodded and jumped up, wrapping his legs around Luke's waist, hiding his face in his shoulder. Then they vanished.

And all I knew was that I felt like a fucking terrible human being.

Author's Note

2839 words. And next chapter will be the rest of the characters reactions to Percy's death, but I thought you needed a short break. You're welcome
