Matt's P.O.V

After having a good time with Tia this evening, I decided to go and sit in my room for a while, because the truth was that I couldn’t see Shawn flirting with my girl.

Why would he do such a thing? It wasn't fair. I waited a long time for her to come over and stay with me so I could some how win her over. But Shawn was ruining all my plans.

I went into my bedroom and fell on my bed. I layed there looking up at my blank ceiling and just thinking about what I could do or say to get her back.

I didn't understand what she meant by "I don't think of you as more than a friend, Matt."

Well obviously it meant that she had no feelings for me anymore. But how? We were together for 8 months. She was my first love and I was hers. So how come she didn't like me in that way anymore. There had to be a connection. One way or another. There really did have to be a connection.

I got out of bed and opened my closet to reveal the shit load of clothes I had. I pushed all my clothes to one side to find my memory box.

You see, I had this box from the very first day I started dating Tia. This precious little box contained all of our pictures, we'll the ones that I had kept. All the little gifts that she had given to me, and the note that started our relationship.

It said "I'm sitting at the corner of this coffee shop looking at a cute girl sitting at the same spot everyday. My curiosity is getting to me and so I can't help but wonder, What might her name be?"

That was the first thing that I had said to T. It was also the first time I had got the guts to talk to her. Even though I basically spoke to her by writing a note because I was too scared to approach her.

I sat on my bed and heard my own chuckle in my quite and empty room.

I held this note as I felt myself doze off into a deep sleep.

*The next morning*

Shawn's P.O.V

I don't have a clue why, but I got up at 6:45 this morning. I just couldn't sleep. I mean I had a good sleep at night, but I got up to go take a leak and after that I just couldn't fall back asleep. Which was odd, because it usually took me 0.03 second to fall back asleep.

I didn't have anything else to do so I decided to make myself some tea.

So a few minutes later, there I was sitting on the couch drinking my tea and staring out the window looking at the marvelous view that Matt's apartment had.

Once I was done my tea, I threw  the tea bag into the garbage bin and left my cup in the sink.

My mind kept racing with different thoughts of Tia, and it just wouldn't stop. So I decided to walk into her room.

I opened the door as quietly as possible hoping that it wouldn't squeak and I tip toed into her room.

When I walked in, her back was towards me and the blanket was up till her waist. I couldn't see her face, but I really really wanted to. So I walked really really slow so that my huge feet wouldn't make as much noise as they usually did.

I got to the other side of room and sat down at the edge of her bed.

Right now I felt like a stalker, but I just couldn't resist.

One of her arms was under her pillow and the other was right under her face. The position she slept in looked somewhat like a fetus position and I couldn't help but make a little "awh" sound.

As soon as I said that the door squeaked open and Matt's head peeked through there. Well shit! I just got myself in trouble.

He looked at me with rage filled in his eyes and asked me to come outside because he wanted to talk to me. Well at least that's what I thought it was. He didn't say a word. He just used his pointer finger to ask me to come outside.

Matt's P.O.V

Once Shawn was out, I dragged him outside the house and into the balcony and closed the door behind us so that Tia wouldn't wake up because of all the yelling that was going to follow.

"What the heck is wrong with you Matt? Why did you have to pull me out here? You could have just asked me to meet you here." Shawn said pulling his hand away from mine

"Shut up Shawn." I said running my hand through my hair in frustration and anger

"What?" He said his head flinching just a bit. " What do you think I did now?"

"Your stealing my girl away from me!" I said and walked closer to him

"For the last time Matt. Tia. Is. Not. Your. Girl. Anymore." He said talking 2 steps away from me, pointing towards Tia’s room while explaining.

"YES SHE IS!" I yelled

"Explain to me how Matt." Shawn said going to sit down on the swing.

"I don't have to Shawn." I said turning around to face him. "I was with her for 8 months. She was my first love. We both were best friends. We both loved each other so much."

"Matthew. Your getting all confused about this. You keep using past tense but you seem to fail to understand that she's not your girl anymore." Shawn said his tone as gentle as possible

"I can't see you with her." I said pacing around in circles, blinking away the tears

I got no response. Just a loud sigh from Shawn.

"I heard you guys last night. Laughing at the movie and hearing Tia laughing her ass off because you wouldn't stop tickling her. And it stung Shawn. It really did." I said my tone going back to the frustrated one.

I saw him get up from the swing to come and stand next to me.

"What do you want me to do about it Matt?" He asked not looking even one bit interested in this argument

"I want you to back the f*ck off." I said getting defensive and pushing Shawn back

"I'm sorry but I can't do that." He said pushing me right back

"You don't have a choice Shawn." I said and almost swung my fist at him but I ended up stopping myself

"I really like her Matthew, there's no way I'm backing off and there's nothing you can do to make me stop liking her." He said and walked out the balcony and into the living room

"I love her Shawn." I yelled at the top of my lungs 

"Well. You had your chance Matt. But now it's my turn. I really like her, and I'm not missing out on a girl like her." Shawn said and turned to his right and suddenly there was a pure expression of shock on his face

I followed his gaze to see that Tia was standing there.

Her face had the same expression of shock that both me and Shawn had on our face at the moment.

Well. Things were going to get extremely awkward around this house now.
