Squid's POV

I curse under my breath as the two girls come down the hallway when I open the door. I put the dagger back in my pocket, and turn to them. One of them is the girl from yesterday, the other I hadn't seen before.

"Hey," I say awkwardly as the girl I didn't know facepalmed.

The girl looks over and says, "jade? Why aren't we trying to stop him again?"

Jade shrugged, "dunno, but I'm thinking we should help him escape, I mean he is, was, or whatever, part of the squid army Tori."

Tori nods and looks at me. "To be honest I feel that we should put him back in the cell cuz I don't wanna get in trouble....but I'll help."

"Okay," I say, what's the best way outta here then?

Jade walks past me and pushes a brick on the wall, not too far away from my cell. The brick pushes in and a two block space appears, along with a tunnel.

I walk over it and look inside, it is pretty dark except for torches lining the wall every once in a while. I look back at the two, and raise my eyebrow.

Jade rolls her eyes and says, "you go down the tunnel and we'll close the door behind you, when you get to the end pull the third switch and a door to outside with open."

I nod and walk into the tunnel, after I've been walking for a few moments I hear the door close. I take a deep breath and walk into the darkness.

Tori's POV

After Squid walked into the tunnel, I waited a few moments before closing the doorway. I turn to Jade "what now?" I ask.

She starts heading back towards the staircase, "you stay here and pretend to look around for squid, and I'll go tell the general that he escaped somehow, but we have to make sure that no one figures out that we let him go, okay?"

I nod and walk into the cell. I hear her footsteps as she leaves and I go over to the cell bed. Under the rumpled bedding there is a small book.

I open it and the first page reads 'Squid's Journal, read this without my permission and you'll have a knife through your chest faster than you can say mercy'. I close the book and put it in my pocket. 'He must've left it by accident' I think as I 'search' the cell.

Jade's POV

I walk back upstairs quickly, I sprint back to the meeting room and when I walk in I try my best to look panicked and out of breath.

Sky looks at me with a confused expression, "is everything okay?" He asks, standing up.

I shake my head, 'time to do the best acting this army has ever seen' I think before responding. "N-no," I say, "the prisoner has escaped! When we got down there his cell was wide open and he was gone!"

Sky's eyes widen, "what!?" He asks, astonished. "That sneaky little...take me to the cell."

I nod and lead the way back to the cell. Tori is there, pretending to search for clues. If she actually found something, that would be pretty weird.

"Find anything?" I ask her.

She pauses before responding, "yeah, I found a book." She pulls out a small leather book and hands it to Sky.

Sky takes a look at it and then looks back up at us. "Round up some other guards and get to the main hall as fast as possible, we need to find Squid."

IM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING! Tbh, my friend reminded me so I finished the chapter today....anywho...
