Tori's POV

We walked through the woods, looking for any signs of the sneaky little f*cker, but we've had no luck thus far. We can't find any footprints and we don't have a tracker with us so this is-

"what's that?" Asks Jade, running towards something. I sprint after her, and see a piece of Squid's jacket caught in a thorn bush. 

I pick up the cloth and examine it, "seems that we're on the right trail," I say looking around, "this is a scrap of Squid's jacket." 

Jade nods and we continue through the forest, looking for any other signs of Squid. Eventually we come to a rather large tree with a huge trunk and thick branches. I look up into it, and I see a figure up on a fairly high branch. 

I look over at Jade and sees that she's seen it too. "So...." I whisper, "who's going up."

"You, baka," she replies, looking at me, "I don't wanna break my neck."

"Alright, fine," I say, rolling my eyes as I walk up to the very base of the tree. Stepping onto a large root, I reach up and grab a low hanging branch, and start climbing as quietly as I can. As I'm climbing, I step onto a thin branch, and it cracks and breaks off the tree under my weight. I let out a shriek of terror, and I nearly fall, but I manage to hold onto a branch just above my head.

I look up as the person looks down at me from a higher branch, and I immediately recognize them as Squid. I see the confusion on his face as his eyes move from me dangling from this branch, to what I assume is Jade. 

"Great going, baka!" I hear Jade yell, and I look down, trying to ignore the sick feeling in my stomach.

"Shut up! Its the stupid tree's fault!" I yell back quickly before looking back up.

I hear a "sure it is," as I attempt to pull myself up onto the branch I'm holding onto. Key word, attempt. I eventually give up on trying to pull myself upwards, and look for a foothold. I see a branch a foot or two away and try to reach it with my foot. 

I hear a rustling above my head, and stop trying to reach the stupid branch. I look up towards the rustling and see squid climbing down the tree towards me. He steps onto the branch I am clinging to, causing it to bend a bit under both of out weights. 

"Grab my hand!" he says, crouching down and holding his hand near one of mine.

I nod, and let go of the branch with one of my hands, quickly grabbing his. Using a nearby branch for support, he manages to haul me up onto the branch. Quickly as I can, I move to a different branch, so that the one branch wouldn't break from supporting us both. 

"Thanks," I say, leaning against the trunk of the tree, rubbing my sore and slightly scraped hands. 

"You two bakas okay up there!?" I hear from below, and see Jade pacing slightly at the base of the tree. I forgot she was here for a moment...Whoopsies...

Ayyyyyyyyyy *hides behind chair* don't kill me for taking so long to update ;D;

I've been seriously writer's blocked for this damn thing, as well as other storiesssssssss.

So yeh....anyways I hope y'alls enjoyed this chapter! I think it sucks tbh....anywho...
