Many things have scared me in my life, but none so much as when I woke up to a bunch of people around me. "Are you okay?" A female asked me.

She had bright auburn hair and the darkest brown eyes you've ever seen. You couldn't even see the difference between the iris and the pupil. She was bone skinny, like pretty much all of us these days, but she while she sat above me, she seemed as if she were surprisingly tall. Others surrounded us, mostly guys though. "Zack." She called my name. Worry stuck on her face as she looked down at me.

As my eyes adjusted, I could see the sun. Frightened immediately I went to shoot straight up and make a run for it, if only I wasn't tied down. "What do you guys want with me? And why are we outside during sun hours, and why is it not hurting or killing us?" I started questioning frantically.

"Zack, we saw what happened to your companion and we thought we should help. You kind of had a broken ankle and was in the middle of the sun's rays when we were able to get you. Now don't be alarmed, but you are no longer on Earth." She spoke calmly. "This is Teribericum, the planet many before our time had founded so that we'd be saved off of the dangerous planet our ancestors once destroyed. Unlike everyone else, you weren't 'saved' by the people who run this planet. You were saved by us. Now here's what you need to know. This utopia they have built up is a fake, a fraud. They have a plan, and that's not a need to know. All I will tell you is this, we are the resistance, and you have the choice to join us or return to Earth and die in the sun." She tensed up at the end.

Still confused whether this was a massive trick or not I kept clanging at the sun. It seemed completely different and not at all harmful, how could they trick anyone with that? I've seen the Earth's sun, I've felt it's harmful sting and still have scars all over my back to prove it, if it's wasn't for Jess I would have died.

"Where's my sister! You said they save them but where do they bring them? Where is she!" I blew. I struggled in my entanglements around my hands, feet, waist, and throat. I have to find her, I have to protect her.

"Zack chill out or the restrains will only cause you more pain. We cannot let you out unless you join us." She was firm, then started to melt a little. "Though if you do help us and join the resistance, we will help you save your sister."

The others that surrounded me all looked to each other, as if they questioned her decision. "Tara, is that wise to do such a thing?" One of them stepped up and grabbed her arm.

"Jacob you know what we need, don't question me again." She barked as he jumped back in fear.

"I'm not going to just join you guys, I know it's to save my sister, but how do I know if I can trust you go enough. You say this utopia or whatever is a complete lie, prove it and tell me what's really going on. Why if this place is saving people are you resisting and rebelling against them?" I argued. I've read enough novels that start out with people joining based on something they want and regretting it later.

"You like books, I can tell by the way you answered. If you want to know then I'll tell you, but alone." She spoke up.

For a few minutes she sat next to me, staring into my eyes. "That means leave!" She howled at surrounding people all blankly staring. From first impression alone, she has a great heart but also a powerful mind with an act for authority and great leadership skills, but scary nonetheless.

As they slowly left us be she never took her eyes off of me, she was entranced almost, looking into my eyes. What was she thinking?

As a knife miraculously appeared in her hand I held my breathe, "First, I do not like explaining things such as this when one is tied down, also it looks very uncomfortable."

Using the knife she quickly cut the restraints, though as she cut the one over my throat I felt a gulp of nervousness creep through my body. Once the last restraint was opened she outstretched her free hand to me. "Come, we'll talk outside." She smiled.

There was something strange about her, hidden pain clung behind the realist optimism in her deep eyes. Her hair in a messy ponytail draped over her shoulders in a formerly red waterfall, while her posture perfect. Her mouth was closed, almost pushing against each other trying to hide her secrets, but also soft. Her cheeks blossomed as bright as the sun, while her eyes caught the beautiful shimmer of the moon. She turned to look at me, I didn't know whether to be scared or curious.

She didn't have to say anything, she just started walking towards an open doorway in the ruins of some old building we were in. The light from the other sun showering in through the open ceiling had shown me this world, but I never really did seen it until this moment.

Standing on a sort of balcony we looked out into the endless world on chrome buildings and glistening streams where people were happily rowing about in their boats. There were mysteries someone who lived their whole lives on Earth wouldn't even imagine, the barren wasteland that took the meaningless lives of its inhabitants was nothing compared to the sight from here alone. In the center of everything was the tallest building structure of them all, almost shaped like a double helix I once saw as a diagram in a book, it was complex and simple at the same time. Bewilderment filled my eyes as I watched people, real people walking about. Not as though they were surviving, but thriving in this new place. "You may think that this is a dream come true, and that that building in the center is both complex and simple at the same time. It is, but you don't know what's hidden under the skin of every fragment of this world that exists.you don't know the horrors that truly rule this world." She looked out, vacant expression as if she was hiding more than just a secret, as if she was holding true pain. Pain nothing that anyone would endure on Earth would ever understand.

"The people that rule this world are the same people that destroyed Earth. They used nuclear missiles and demolished all the majorly populated area to kill the most amount of people they could. And they're not ending here, they put you through initiation that could possibly kill you if you don't submit to everything they want. Those who you see are roughly five percent of what once existed in the human race." Her breath was deepening as if she was choking on her words. "This planet isn't really a planet, this whole place is a giant weapon. They are planning on saving everyone on Earth and bringing them here. They want to rid the universe of the human race, even if it includes themselves. The organization believes that we've killed the Earth, and they want to stop us before we kill anything else."

Tears formed in her eyes but she was too proud to let them loose. "How do you know all of this?" I was curious. She could be filling my head with false truths to convince me to join, though it's hard to tell. Living on Earth has taught me one thing, unless I truly know a person do not trust them until you can turn your back and they will cover it.

"I was once in the organization that formed all of this. I believed as they believe that we are a virus, the the human race would do nothing but kill. And I was proven right, which is why I left. They wanted to end all the pain, no more guns, no more war, no more death. Their cause is right, but I let slip the master plans. Everyone who knew was immediately vaccinated with a virus, it didn't kill them though. It caused them immense pain, they're still in the center of the planet where the heart of this organization lives. There they're suffering, because of me. They can't die, they'll be in pain forever until time and space literally end." She was having problems saying some of the words.

"What were the master plans?" I couldn't help it. I know she's hurting but if she really needs my help then she'll answer my questions.

"I don't know, I can't remember them anymore. They gave me a different punishment that erases anything that they are doing. It still works now and again as soon a we find something out, and the rest of them have gotten it too. It's a contagion that is passing as if it's the flu, we need someone with survival skills to find out what's going on and keep the information. You've not only survived through the Earth's terrors, but you've endured everything that's come at you. You fought for your sisters and .....

"Sisters? You know about Lisa?" I was stunned.

"They've been able to watch everyone on Earth to decide when to save them, we took the technology and continued. We were surprised when we found you again. I saw you when I was with them, when they took Lisa. We had just lost a great candidate on Earth for this, and we found you. I remembered you, they always had an interest in you for some reason. You had your own individual person watching you. Don't ask why, that's one of the various things that's gone."

"So I have one question for you." I looked straight into her eyes.

She turned to face me as if she herself was confused. "Only one? I figured that you'd be trying to ask everything under the sun like you have been for the last twenty minutes." She sassed with a sneer.

"What do you believe now?" I looked straight into her. I watched as my question sunk in and made her jump. As her eyebrows lowered in a questioning gaze to opening with complete befuddlement.

"You surprise me Zack. Not only do you go against what people usually are, you have peculiar questions." She laughed.

"I'm not joking around. You said you needed me, but you also said you were with them and believed the human race was useless. What do you believe now? Are we useless and need to be destroyed before we destroy something else or are the newer generations able to have their chance to live?" I glared. I had never ever been more persistent for any answer. She could see I meant business, and she was scared.

"I don't know what I believe. Neither side seems to be worthy of an ally in me at the present time. Give the next generation a chance and they'll just make things worse, or they make things better. Only time can tell. The future's a mystery and if you play for the wrong side you may as well be endlessly tortured." Her heart was true, and her answer wasn't wrong.

"No one can tell the future, no one can decide whether we will save or destroy anything. But once you believe that one side has the right ideals, or you've suffered so much that you know what you believe, you fight for it and make that future real. Standing aside for the future won't help anything, you have to get involved and make it what you believe in." I stood tall. Never before had I really been able to speak my mind about anything, until now. "I'll help you for the cause of saving the human race, for saving people like you who have given up hope in a better future for everyone."
