12.| GALLOWAY FAMILY
A GRUNT LEFT HIS LIPS AS HE WAS SLAMMED AGAINST THE MATS. He lifted his gaze up to the head full of vibrant red hair as she stared down at him. There was a soft smile on her lips as she stared down at him, her foot pinning his wrist to the ground. He knew what it was like to train with her because he had been one of the people to experience it first hand. The Red Room assassin stood up and offered James her hand, and when he took it, he took the opportunity to pull her to the ground and switch their positions. He now hovered over her, giving her the Stark smirk that he and his brother were known for. She rolled her eyes as she slapped his side, which made him stand up. James pulled Natasha to her feet and she walked over toward a bench and picked up her water bottle, taking a long drink from it.
"What? You tired?" James questioned her, which made the woman twitch her eyebrows quickly, before shaking her head.
"Against you? Please, that was a warmup," Natasha replied to him and he nodded his head. She pressed her lips together as she rested her hands on her hips, giving him a small smile. "Did Clint tell you about his next mission?"
"Vaguely," James answered her with a sigh. "He told me he was going out searching for some alien relic or some shit. God knows why Fury wants him going after an alien relic when there's so much shit going on in the world now."
"Well, if you really think about it, it's something S.H.I.E.L.D is known for as of late. Going out for strange people and things," Natasha pointed out, which made him nod his head. James inhaled deeply as he wrapped a towel around his neck, and Natasha narrowed her eyes at him, before clearing her throat. "There was something that came up on our radar. A girl and her family to be exact."
"What about them?" James questioned her.
"Well, they're possible members of the Avengers Initiative," Natasha began to explain as the two of them made their way out of the training area and into one of the hallways. The Russian led him over toward one of the vacant offices and picked up a tablet, offering it to him. James glanced at Natasha, before looking down at the device in his hand. The images began to show a young girl tear out of her own skin and into that of a wolf. James furrowed his brows as he stared down at the video of the young girl before it switched over to a man chucking a semi at one of their opponents. And that wasn't it, there was also a woman who appeared and disappeared in mid-air, as well as another young girl used her hands to throw something, without even touching it. "They're the Galloway family, a group of what we think to be mutants. There's no way of telling if they were experimented on, but our best bet is that they're just mutants."
"So, now we're working with mutants?" James questioned her, before shaking his head. "Isn't that that Charles Xavier's job? He's the mutant."
She shook her head, "He hasn't been able to make contact with them. They're very good at keeping themselves away from him and his mutant team, the X-Men. So, he reached out to Nick and asked if we could check on them."
"They don't seem like bad people," James pointed out, and Natasha shrugged her shoulders.
"They have the possibility of being dangerous," Natasha stated as she took the device from James and leaned against the desk. "Nick wants the two of us to go out and meet them. He managed to get ahold of Derek Galloway in order to organize a deal. I don't know what kind of deal Nick wants to strike with them, but right now Nick wants us to explain to them the Avengers Initiative and what it means for their family."
James scoffed lightly, before a smile appeared on his lips, "Wonder what my old man would think about with how S.H.I.E.L.D operates now. Working with the Mutants to get a few of them to join our little organization."
"Yeah," Natasha replied to him, before giving him a small smile. "You should go get some sleep, we head out pretty early tomorrow."
James nodded his head as he stood up from his spot and made his way out of the office. He stood in the hall briefly, staring into the room and watching as Natasha cleaned everything in the room, and he smiles to himself. There were things about the woman, that he wished that he could tell her. Being a Stark, it should've been easy to flirt with women, and it was; god it was so easy. But for James, flirting didn't seem to come easy when it came to Natasha Romanoff, seeing as she was even better at flirting than he was.
The Stark made his way through the facility before stepping into his apartment. His eyes glanced around the cluttered and messy complex, before walking into his kitchen. His laptop was thrown open and he saw that there was an email from his older brother, to see that Tony had asked him about the Avengers Initiative and what it would entail for him. James pressed his lips together before typing out a response and then hitting send.
It felt good that he and Tony were talking with each other, there was a brief period that they weren't. He was glad that he had a good relationship with his brother now because he wouldn't know what to do if he didn't have Tony Stark in his life. Tony Stark may have been seen differently in the eyes of the media, but James knew who his brother was. And he wouldn't let anyone else tell him who it was that Tony was.
Shutting his laptop, James walked over to his bathroom and quickly got ready for bed, before jumping onto the large bed. He didn't bother getting under the covers, knowing that he would only throw them off anyway. His eyes stared up at the ceiling and he pressed his lips together for a few seconds, resting his hands on his chest. Inhaling deeply, he squeezed his eyes shut and allowed sleep to take over.
Because tomorrow was a busy day. Who knew what it would be like to deal with a family of Mutants?

With this chapter, I have introduced the Galloway Family. If you have read my first Marvel fanfiction, Not Alone, then you would recognize them. This is the family of Fawn Galloway, my Pietro Maximoff OC. She's a shapeshifter, who also has chaos magic. Next chapter, Natasha and James will be the ones to approach the family, and there will be a little drama, seeing as two of the four are against joining any organizations that could claim their family as their property and such.
This is the casting of the rest of the family, just so you guys know!
Derek Galloway (Fawn's father) is played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan:

Lily Heavens-Galloway (Fawn's mother) is played by Kate Beckinsale:

Kaia Galloway (Fawn's sister) is played by Maia Mitchell:

Serena Heavens (Fawn's aunt) is played by Sandra Bullock:

And of course, Fawn Galloway is played by Shelley Hennig:

All of these lovely people will be introduced next chapter and I will give more information on them there!
I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter! xx
