Chapter three

Ezra grunted, the feeling of being weak started to overcome him inside of Althea. If he didn't rest soon then he wouldn't be at full strength to defeat the enemy. Although last year he knew they were going to be in trouble, Althea wasn't even ready at that time. To Ezra things were definitely not going the way he had hoped. "Are you okay?" Althea spoke in her head.

"I'm fine, don't worry about it, I'm about to rest to get my full strength up. You'll be in control for a while."
Ezra turned toward Abigail. "Abigail, I need to let Althea take control for a while just so I can rest up, do not let her leave this house, if she does the servants would most certainly be out there waiting for her."

"What am I supposed to do? Lie to her and tell her that she can't go out there otherwise she'll get sick?" Abigail asked.

"I don't care, just make sure she doesn't leave," Ezra turned toward Peter. "And Peter, make sure you figure out what those ingredients are so we can get to them before the others do."

Peter nodded. Ezra closed his eyes and shut down just as Althea starts coming to. Althea opened her eyes revealing the classic brown eyes that Abigail was familiar with.

"Althea?" Abigail asked. "Are you okay?" Abigail reached over and grabbed a chair placing it under her. Althea carefully took a seat.

*~*~*

Althea rubbed her head. She remembered most of what happened. Apart from Ezra taking control of her. But during that time, she had heard everything that Ezra, Abigail and Peter were talking about. She never wanted to be a conduit nor did she expect heaven and hell to try and take her body. All she remembered from last year was that as an angel conduit she was rare. Her heart pounded realizing the truth. She was a target, who knew what those servants were going to do to her. Exhausted from the amount of energy she had to give to Ezra, she needed some time to herself.

"Althea?" Abigail asked, touching her shoulder.

"I'm fine, I think I'm just exhausted from Ezra controlling me," she said. "I'm going to go and rest for a little bit, I know it's still daylight out but I think it might help me." She nodded toward her friends and made her way across the hall to the first bedroom she saw. She walked into the room and noted the different antiques hanging around from the old wooden bed, to the dresser.

"Well this is quaint..." Althea said. "Ezra, why haven't I seen you?"

A voice in the back of her mind began to stir as if he was starting to wake up. "Because we're joined together now."

"What do you mean?" Althea asked

"You are my true vessel when you said yes at the dormitory. I had to take over. And glad I did cause that demon would have taken you right under my nose."

Althea huffed. She preferred seeing Ezra around her but now she had to figure out how to deal with this new norm and how she would be able to tell the difference between her and Ezra. "Don't act like that kid. I know that this is weird and all but we have to stop the servants otherwise they will resurrect my brother."

"But is it even possible, I was awake for the most part of your possession, but I thought they couldn't tear you out of your true vessel?"

Ezra sighed. "They can, there is a spell that can push me out of your body." Ezra explained. "Or they could also trap me while I'm in control."

"Um how would that happen exactly?" Althea asked.

"Well... a circle of fire for instance. With holy oil. If they use that while I'm in control, I won't be able to step over it." Althea gulped. As she was getting the bed ready behind her the closet door creaked open. "Althea? What was that?"

Ezra quickly took over as an intruder snuck up behind them, using Althea's body he turned and blocked a masked man dressed in a ski mask and dark clothing, in his hand he held a sharp edged dagger. Ezra disarmed the intruder and kicked him in the chest. More started coming out from their hiding places as Ezra tried to fight all three of them at once. While he was distracted, a woman came up behind him, grabbed a vase and slammed it hard on Althea's head. Next thing he knew, everything had gone dark.

*~*~*

Peter was pouring over every single spell he could find but nothing helped that is until he came across two pages folded inwards.

"Um... Abigail, you might want to see this." Peter said. Concerned, Abigail ran over and looked over Peter's shoulder. On the pages of the grimoire was an ingredient list, and on the other was an angel trap symbol.

"Is that what I think it is?" Abigail asked.

Peter started to say something when both heard a loud crash coming from the bedroom. "Althea?! Ezra?!" Peter exclaimed. They raced over only to find the door locked.
"Althea!!" Abigail yelled, hitting the door with her shoulder.

"Move over," Peter ordered. Abigail nodded and stepped back. Peter backed up and ran at the door hitting it so hard that it blew right off its hinges. The two ran inside only to find that Althea and Ezra were gone and the window was broken. Leading Peter to realize what happened. "They got them. This isn't good."

"What are they going to do to them?" Abigail asked fear running throughout her body. Peter ran back downstairs followed by Abigail and toward the book. "Peter what is it?"

"The list," Peter said and flipped the book around. "It's a full list of ingredients that the Servants of evil would need to resurrect Lucifer."

Abigail looked over at the list:
1. A blade touched celestial blood
2. The blood of the traitor
3. A catalyst or a true follower to lock anything in its place
4. An angel conduit

"But those are hard to come by. What does it mean by a blade touched by celestial blood?" Abigail asked. "And the blood of a traitor?"

"Not really if you know where to look." Peter explained. "A blade touched by celestial blood involves an angel possessing a vessel."

"But what if that angel is asleep?" Abigail asked.

"They'd have to get that angel while they're in control of their vessel's body. Which means—-" Peter began.

"Whoever was here attacked Althea and Ezra took control..." Abigail said thoughtfully. "But he's an angel, they can't hold him down."

"Yes they can, look." Peter picked up the book and flipped through till he got to the next folded page. "This is an angel trap similar to a devils trap only it's designed to hold angels in place. And to keep them in control of their vessel. It silences the intended vessel so anyone who can hold down the angel will be able to talk to them."

Abigail looked at the picture of a giant circle and four Enochian runes painted in different directions pertaining to north, south, east, and west.

"Malakai probably kidnapped Althea and Ezra while Ezra was in control," Peter explained. "Which means we need to find them before it's too late."
