Chapter one

Althea and her friends had gone through a lot the last year and a half. For the most part nothing has happened to them, that is until the Servants of Evil decided that it would be a good idea to invade their school. Celestial University was a beautiful campus. Across the street there was a family-owned farm which to the campus was an important part of their culture. The school was in the valley of the mountainous region, the one road that led into the campus had no cell reception. Almost like they were cut off from the nearest civilization. When the girls were in their junior year, the biggest issue involved these strangers arriving on campus. Stating that they were in fact transfers from the nearest college. Rockland University. Althea was the first person to notice how strange the friend group was. Although that same year she wasn't thinking that she would be stuck in a world full of evil. Demons and magic. Althea hadn't thought about the scenario in the beginning. All she wanted to do was at least get through her junior year. Now that her junior year was over with, and what a crazy year it was, she now found herself as a senior.

"I cannot believe how far I've come." She said, unlike before, she and Abigail no longer lived in the same dorm. In fact, this time, they were separated. The previous year really took a toll on them. However, that didn't stop them from having fun. Althea wanted her own room for her senior year so she could have her space. While Abigail met up with another girl named Jayden. A spoiled rich kid with designer clothes and handbags, she'd arrived on campus the other day and claimed to be on the swim team. Anytime Althea got a look at her, she would have this strange feeling overcome her, it was weird to say the least. Especially since Althea and Abigail had already been through one demonic villain, what more could they go through. Althea had awoken to the sound of birds chirping on that fall day, everything during her senior year so far had been good. Unless you counted Jayden all of a sudden appearing everywhere that she went, especially with Abigail.

Althea got dressed for the day throwing on a pair of black skinny jeans and a cropped t-shirt. She pulled on a black leather jacket and her favorite pair of combat boots. Grabbing her comb off her nightstand, Althea stands in front of the mirror and starts combing her hair. As she continues getting ready, someone knocks on Althea's door. Confused, the young girl looked through the peephole to find her best friend, Abigail on the other side.

"Hey!" Althea exclaimed, as she opened the door. "How are you? I didn't expect someone to let you in."

"I wanted to come see my best friend," Abigail chuckled. "I see you're getting ready for breakfast?"

"Yeah, why don't you come—" Althea started as Jayden, forcing herself to keep quiet as Jayden leaned against the door frame as if she thought about how worthless Althea's life was. Jayden stood next to her, her hands deep in the pockets of her designer jacket. Abigail smiled at Althea, despite Althea not wanting Jayden there, she couldn't say anything to her friend for fear that she'd hurt Abigail's feelings. "Oh... hello Jayden."

"Hey girl!" Jayden smirked as her designer denim jacket ruffled as she moved. "Abigail invited me to breakfast with you, isn't that great!"

"Yeah... peachy." Althea replied "hey, Abigail can you maybe wait downstairs for us? I have to talk to Jayden, alone."

"Okay? I guess?" Abigail shrugged and made her way downstairs. Althea grabbed Jayden by the arm and dragged her inside. Slamming the door behind her. Jayden chuckled and made her way over to the windowsill leaning up against it. In the corner of her room, Althea saw Ezra standing with his back against the wall. With a simple nod, Ezra walked over to her and stepped through without Jayden noticing.

"I take it, you know why I'm here?" Jayden chuckled. "Hello! Earth to Althea." Jayden stumbled as she noticed that Althea's demeanor had changed. "If you ever lay a hand on me, I will personally see to it that you and your little friend will lose their scholarships. And everything you have always worked for is gone, what do you have to say to that?"

Suddenly Althea's voice changed from a soft-spoken girl to a deep gruffly voice. "You done talking princess?" Ezra said through Althea's lips. Grabbing Jayden by the arm he shoved her against the wall. "Cause the way I see it, you are threatening both girls and I care deeply about them, if you lay a hand on her or Abigail, I will personally see you gone."

"I don't... I—" Jayden's body went rigid. An evil chuckle escaped from her lips as she looked up at Ezra. "Well look what the cat dragged in," Jayden's eyes turned from her bright blue eyes to solid black.

"I should have guessed you would have a host," Ezra leaned against Althea's desk. "What's wrong? Mammon is too scared to face us?"

"Hardly angel," Jayden said, stretching her arms. "Of course, I'm surprised that Archangel Michael let you down here, are you doing his dirty work as a soldier or are you in this for yourself?"

"I know what you can do, you can shut your trap, because the way I see it, you are treading on dangerous grounds." Ezra replied.

"It's you that's on dangerous grounds angel; do you have any idea what we are planning?" Jayden chuckled. "You see we're here for your little conduit; Malakai needs her blood to spill so we can resurrect Lucifer, and this little rich bitch I'm wearing? She's going to play a role in it too. Although of course my lord still needs your angel conduit friend, he needs a body and since her lineage incorporates that of an angel conduit for the divine, well that means she will be his."

Ezra flinched, hearing the threat he turned and put both hands on either side of the demon. "You listen here you sick son of a bitch, don't go anywhere near Althea! If you so much as touch a hair on her head you're going down right back to where you came from."

Suddenly, Althea's phone rang distracting the angel briefly. On the collar ID he read Abigail Calling. Seeing her chance, Jayden kicked Ezra in his stomach. Ezra flew back crashing into the desk. Althea's phone flew through the air and landed underneath a bad. Groaning, Ezra pushed himself to his feet and summoned his angel blade just as Jayden ran at him and grabbed him by the throat.

"Now where were we?" Jayden asked pressing down hard on Althea's throat. Althea's eyes flashed blue as he pries her hands away from his throat. "You think you can protect her from us Ezra? You got one thing coming before the winter solstice Lucifer will return, and your little whore will be first on the list."

"Keep dreaming sweetheart," Ezra grunted twisting Jayden's arm behind her back. "Bring this back to your boss or whoever you report to, as long as I'm alive, and behind the wheel, you'll never get Althea. Lucifer will stay in hell, and you will join him."

A loud bang on the door caused the demon and Angel to stop feuding.

"Althea!" Abigail called from the other side. "Althea! Is everything okay?"

Jayden turned to the window running for it she pushed it open and turned toward Ezra. "This isn't over Ezra, she will fall and no matter where you go no matter how often you hide her, we will still find her." With that, Jayden jumped out of the window and landed in the soft dirt with a thud. She took off toward a white Sedan before leaving the campus.
