When the sand cleared we were in a public bathroom I quickly changed Rameses back to his smaller form and got his harness so we didn't draw attention. Rameses climbed up onto my shoulders while Danny peeked out the door.

"It looks like we're in an actual hospital." Danny told me.

"Seth where are we?" I asked.

"Dr. Cunning is here somewhere I got us as close as I could without tipping him off." Seth replied in my mind.

"Seth says he's here somewhere." I told Danny and Rameses.

"Then let's go ask for the terrible doctor." Danny replied, we left the bathroom finding ourselves in the lobby of the hospital with several people waiting to be called in. I went up to the front desk where a nurse was typing on a computer.

"Hi, I'm looking for Dr. Cunning?" I told her getting a sigh in return.

"Miss you are going to have to wait your turn please fill out a form and wait like everyone else." The tired nurse replied passing a clipboard and pen over the desk.

"It's really important that I see him." I pressed.

"I'm sorry your just going to have to wait." The nurse told me sternly.

"Lie" Rameses said in my mind.

"It's a family emergency." I told her trying to sound desperate getting her to really look at me rather than brush me off.

"Lie better." Seth prodded silently.

"I'm Dr. Cunning's daughter, mom called and said my little sister was hit by a car and they're taking her to another hospital. Mom sent me to come get dad cause he's not answering his phone." I told her forcing my voice to crack as I pleaded her attention fully on me now. She began typing quickly before a look of confusion crossed her face.

"There's no Dr. Cunning at this hospital or any other in the area." The nurse said face full of confusion.

"He has to be here." Danny said from beside me.

"I'm telling you there is no Dr. Cunning. Have I seen you before?" The nurse replied her face twisting as she looked closer at Danny trying to place where she had seen him. Seth took control and reached forward putting a hand on her cheek, I could feel my magic move and suddenly she turned to her coworkers who had started staring and was yelling at them.

"Go, now." Seth told Danny who followed along as we took the distraction to make our way into the rest of the hospital. I was about to ask what we should do now when Danny put a hand on my shoulder and pointed down the hall. there walking down a perpendicular hall was Cas with a doctor's coat on, a colorful drink in one hand and her phone that had her attention in the other.

We followed her trying to make sure she didn't notice us. She wove through hallways until she reached an elevator and got in, we waited as the doors closed and watched as the indicator showed the basement floor. We went over and waited for the elevator to come back up going in when it arrived.

"What are you doing?" I asked as Danny went to press the button for the basement floor above the one Cas had gone to.

"Hitting a button." Danny replied confused.

"He can't see it. Dr. Cunning probably put a spell on it so normal people don't end up in his lab by accident." Rameses said aloud as I pressed the button that was apparently hidden from Danny. As we descended the same feeling from the first time we had met Dr. Cunning permeated the elevator growing stronger the deeper we went.

"That feeling is the mark of a warlock and a really bad one at that." Seth told us.

"A male witch?" Danny asked.

"A warlock is far from a male witch, a warlock is a traitor of the worst kind a danger to all they meet. Any witch can put the mark of a warlock on someone but he must have been marked more than a thousand perhaps even millions of times to achieve this level of danger." Seth replied with a soft chuckle.

"So even witches want nothing to do with him? I mean I can't say I blame them." Rameses asked.

"Precisely the mark of a warlock is to warn other witches of the danger they are in." Seth affirmed as we reached the floor. When the doors opened into what looked like an old hospital lobby we saw Cas standing in the center of the room sipping on her drink a cross look on her face.

"I thought it was strange that the elevator was coming down here when both John and I are already here." Cas mused swirling her drink. I quickly made Rameses big again while Danny pulled his loaded gun leveling it at Cas.

"I don't want to hurt you Cas. We're just here for Jasper." Danny told her firmly.

"Well that's too bad cause I really want to hurt you." Cas hissed with sadistic glee as she turned into a wendigo leaping upwards and grappling onto the ceiling like a demented gecko as Rameses leapt at her. Cas skittered across the ceiling towards us and as she leapt at us Danny fired knocking her back. She picked herself up with a screech catching a glancing claw swipe from Rameses as she leaped up onto the ceiling again and out of his reach. Cas crawled along the ceiling pulling Rameses farther and farther away. Before she made a mad dash toward Danny and I but as she was about to pounce she jumped to the side landing beside Danny wasting his shot as she backhanded him across the room bullets rolling across the tile floor.

Then she turned to me and as she raised her clawed hand up to strike me I put my hands out towards her as if to push her, I forced my magic forward and the trickle soon became a torrent as Seth pushed his own energy forward. The result was instant as the smell of ozone filled the air and with a loud boom that shook the room and a flash of light Cas flew backwards like a bug hitting a zapper. Cas stood static dancing over her skin in places a face of pure rage as she side stepped another of Rameses pounces who roared in frustration.

Cas leapt towards the nearby wall only to jump off of it and land on Rameses back as he followed. She used her clawed feet to hold on to Rameses as he thrashed trying to knock her off all the while she was stabbing him repeatedly with her clawed hands. I ran towards them despite Seth's yelling in my head as soon as I got close Cas leapt for me pinning me and digging her claws into my shoulder.

"Do it again, I dare you I'll rip you apart and let you bleed and then I'll savor every morsel." Cas hissed in a gravelly tone drool dripping onto my face from her maw.

"I'll just eat you now." Cas said as she leaned down towards me her maw open sharp yellow teeth glinting in the sterile hospital light. Then there was a bang and blood splattered my face as she was thrown back her claws tearing through my skin which quickly healed as Seth's magic went to work. I scrambled to my feet as Rameses placed himself between me and Cas who was lying on her back shifting back to human as she coughed up blood. I heard a clatter from behind and then Danny was running past Rameses and I going to kneel beside Cas trying to put pressure on the wounds that littered her chest.

"I'm sorry! I'm Sorry!" Danny cried as Cas looked at him in disbelief.

"Y-y-you." Cas snarled through the blood her teeth dyed red her eyes glistening angrily but they were no longer an icy blue instead they were a dark brown like Danny's. She raised a hand and if she still had claws she would have drove them into Danny's back, instead her fingernails bounced harmlessly off of Danny's trench coat before hitting the ground as Cas' chest grew still and the light left her angry eyes. Danny screamed in grief as Cas went still Rameses and I went over even if Cas was our enemy she had been Danny's sister too and he had a right to grieve her.

"Danny stay here we'll come back." I told Danny hugging him from behind while Rameses pressed his cheek against Danny's trying to support him.

"No, Save the living first then grieve the dead. Jasper's still alive I'm coming with you to save him then I'll bury my sister." Danny replied standing before looking at me but his eyes weren't the honey brown I was used too instead in their place where two chips a arctic ice.

"Danny your eyes. Seth why are his eyes like that?" I gasped in surprise before addressing the one who might have an answer. although the fear on Danny's face at my words was clear.

"I am not capable of destroying a wendigo transfering the curse changing them that I can do. I didn't think she would die though, there must not have been enough humanity left in her to keep her alive." Seth replied.

"What does that mean for me?!" Danny asked.

"It means you should keep calm so the wendigo doesn't wake up, you're not a greedy or selfish person as far as I can tell which means the curse can't truly take hold of you. It will always be there whispering but it has no true power over you as long as you don't give in to it." Seth told him.

"Let's deal with Jasper first then you and I are having words." Danny growled before pushing past me to go deeper into the laboratory while Seth seemed to be mentally rolling his eyes, I doubt Danny was going to get that conversation.
