If it wasn't obvious from the events of last chapter, I am changing the events of season 1 just a tad. Just like a tiny bit. The main premise will stay the same but I might stop quoting episodes, idk.

Mount Justice

October 31, 19:34 EDT

Ever since the team's individual therapy sessions with Canary everyone has been more relaxed, even Wanda has left her room more often. She has not mentioned anything about her meeting with the Light or her ailment to her friends, as per her agreement with them, but she has continued as before the training exercise, hopeful that the Brain and Klarion will find a cure for her.

Right now, most of the team was getting ready for a Halloween party at Happy Harbor High, the only two not going being Kaldur and Robin. M'gann was dressed as the bride of Frankenstein, Wally was a werewolf, Conner was a mummy, Zatanna was a witch, and Artemis was a vampire. Pietro decided to get cheeky and dress up as the Flash while Wanda decided to be a fairy.

"You can't go as my uncle, that's just weird!" Wally yelled at Pietro, staring at his dollar store costume.

"Fine." Pietro ran off, returning a moment later in a familiar yellow  costume. "Better? Or are you afraid I look better in your costume than you do?"

Wally gaped at him. "Dude!"

Pietro stuck his tongue out at him while everyone snickered.

M'gann finished wrapping Conner's arm in toilet paper. "There. Everyone ready to hit the dance floor?"

"Oh, do I have to dance?" Wanda groaned. "I don't even know how."

"Don't worry, we'll show you." Artemis and Zatanna smiled at her.

The group of friends made their way to the school, Wally and Pietro bickering the whole way there. They entered the school and made their way to the gymnasium where the dance was being held, immediately attracting the attention of three people.

The group of three came up to them and M'gann introduced them as Mal, Karen, and Wendy. They were dressed as Superman, a bumblebee, and Black Canary, respectively.

"I love your Kid Flash costume! Very nice, very accurate." Wendy said to Pietro, earning a glare from Wally.

"Thank you, I believe in being as authentic as possible." Pietro sent a smirk Wally's way.

Oh, if you ruin my costume in anyway, Pietro Maximoff, I swear...

What, Wally, what are you going to do?

I'll think of something, you quick bastard.

Ha! Did everyone hear that? Wally said I'm quick!

Well, you are a speedster, Pietro...

"Hey, what's Marvin doing?" Wanda asked, pointing to the boy on his phone.

"Oh, don't mind him. He thinks Martians are invading." Wendy rolled her eyes. "Everyone knows that is just a prank."

Marvin launched into a whole spiel about how it wasn't a prank and how they've been spotted across the country. Mal pointed out that Martians are friendly, just look at Manhunter.

"Its too bad Kaldur and Rob couldn't make it." Zatanna sighed.

"Somebody has a crush." Artemis mused.

"I'm not the only one with a crush, just look at M'gann and Conner, and Pietro and Wally." Zatanna pointed to the two aforementioned duos, the former being lovey-dovey with each other while the latter bickered. "How long have they been together?"

"Conner and M'gann? Almost two months now." Artemis answered. "As for Pietro and Wally...they are both too stubborn and bull headed to admit they like each other. Or to see that M'gann is with Conner and that they are both using her to make the other jealous."

At that moment, Wally was trying to get M'gann to dance with him while Pietro was trying to persuade her that she would have much more fun with him. Conner was shaking his head the whole time. Artemis turned to Zatanna with a raised brow as if to say 'see? I told you'.

"Well, I think we should give them a little nudge, don't you ladies?" Zatanna smirked.

"What did you have in mind?" Wanda smirked back, glad to finally get payback on her brother for getting her detention on their first day of school.

"Watch me work." Zatanna winked. She made her way over to the other group of their friends, stopping next to Wally, Pietro, and M'gann. She threw her arms over the two boys' shoulders, smiling at them. "Boys, boys, M'gann is spoken for. I, on the other hand, would gladly dance with one of you. But, you have to prove your dance prowess. Prove your worthiness. Dance with each other first. Whoever has the better skill, wins my hand."

Pietro's and Wally's faces were bright red. "Fine!"

"Fine! Would you care to dance, Pietro?"

"That's why I said fine, Wally. Lead the way."

The duo made their way to the dance floor and Zatanna walked back to Artemis and Wanda, a mischievous grin on her face. "That is how it is done."

Artemis chuckled. "Well, why let the couples have all the fun, right? Wanda, Zee and I promised we would show you how to dance so-"

"Actually, I'm going to get us something to drink. Join you in a bit?" Zatanna didn't wait for an answer, she just walked towards the refreshments table.

"Okay, well, let's go, Wanda." Artemis grabbed the younger teen's hand, pulling her to the dance floor. Wanda allowed herself to be tugged along, jumping slightly when Artemis put a hand on her waist. Artemis retracted her hand. "So, since this is a slow song, you want to put your hands on my shoulders. I'll lead. I'm going to put my hands on your waist, is that okay?"

"Y-yeah." Wanda nodded, feeling her cheeks heat up slightly. She placed her hands on Artemis' shoulders and followed the taller girls lead, swaying to the music.

Artemis smiled, nodding to her left. "Looks like your brother and Wally have finally stopped fighting." Wanda followed Artemis' gaze and smiled, seeing her brother slow dance with Wally, neither one of them making eye contact. Both of them were bright red. "They're cute together. Of course, not as cute as us."

Wanda's eyes widened and she whipped her head back to look at Artemis, who chuckled a little. "W-what?"

"Sorry, sorry. I couldn't resist." Artemis smiled. The song changed and she let go of Wanda, making Wanda feel a little twinge of disappointment. "I'm going to go find Zatanna, see where our drinks are. Coming?"

Wanda nodded, following the archer. She pushed away the butterflies in her stomach when her hand brushed Artemis', knowing nothing could happen between them. It couldn't on a count of her having to eventually betray her and the rest of the team's trust. Artemis would never forgive her.

Mount Justice

October 31, 20:31 EDT

"Secure the room." Batman stood with Red Arrow, Aqualad, Red Tornado, and Robin in one of the side rooms of the mountain. "Do we still believe there is a mole?"

"No. I believe Sportsmaster was comparing notes with members of the Injustice League and trying to spell disaster for the team. I do not believe there is a mole." Aqualad spoke.

"Yeah, if there was, they would've betrayed us during our fight against them." Robin piped up.

"I think there still is a mole. Obviously, you two and Kid Flash are above suspicion, but the others are not." Red Arrow declared. "For one, Artemis is not Green Arrow's niece."

"Well, yeah, she-"

"Is entitled to a secret identity, just like the rest of you." Batman glared. "I am worried about Superboy, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch. Who knows what Cadmus programed into their minds?"

"What about Miss Martian? J'onn said he only met her five months ago and that he has hundreds of nieces back on Mars."

"I have fought along side all of them, none are traitors." Aqualad narrowed his eyes at the other heroes in the room.

Batman stayed silent, thinking over the information that Scarlet Witch came to him with a few weeks prior. He had told her not to tell her friends, to keep it between the two of them as he devised a plan of action.

He just hoped he could trust her to follow orders.
