- Our little secret -
Taehyung's POV
"Do you really think this will work?" He asked shakily, voice thick with worry. I smiled, dropping my hand and walking closer to my boyfriend. "I know it will, Jungkook. Do you believe you can possess my magic?" His eyes scanned over my features, almost like he was battling with his mind.
"Yes, I do believe." I nodded, letting my hand cup his cheek. "Then trust me, you'll be fine. You want a part of me, right?" He nodded. "Then let me give it to you." I crashed our lips together in a fiery kiss, our eyes shutting as our lips began to dance against one another's.
With my right hand, I gently ran my fingers up his waist, sliding over his chest until I reached his heart. Then, I allowed my ice magic to appear, pushing it to seep into his veins. He gasped, pulling away from the kiss and resting his forehead to mine. "Taehyung," He whispered, hands gripping my shirt.
"Shh, you're okay. Does it hurt?" He shook his head, shuddering against my body. "It's just really cold." The wind around us seemed to pick up, but I paid no attention to it. My focus was on Jungkook, making sure he didn't collapse or get hurt during this. "Do you feel it all over your body?"
"Yeah," He said breathlessly, eyes shutting as his grip began to loosen on my shirt. "I feel it everywhere." I smiled, kissing his lips as I changed the ice to water, pressing that against his chest and letting it do the same as the ice did. He gasped again, opening his eyes to meet mine.
"I think that's enough. I feel kind of strained." I immediately retracted my hand, letting my magic disappear, my eyes meeting his. "Do you feel okay?" He nodded, smiling up at me and throwing his arms around my neck. "I'm perfect. It didn't hurt, I promise." I picked him up, feeling him wrap his legs around my waist.
"We have some time if you're not too tired," I whispered against his neck, lips ghosting his ear. "We can go test it if you'd like." His response was instant, his grip on me tightening. "Please!" I laughed, setting him down, watching as his feet touched the rooftop.
My fingers brushed against his lips and cheek, my eyes meeting his. Then, I turned around and ran towards the edge, jumping off and diving into the air. I fell twenty feet before my wings sprouted and carried me up into the sky, letting me float a few feet above the rooftop.
Jungkook was wide-eyed, jaw open when he saw me. Then, he glared, punching my leg. "I thought you hurt yourself!" He scolded, standing on the edge as I extended my hand for him. "What happened to having faith in me, Cupcake?" His scowl was replaced with a smile as he took my hand.
His wings sprouted and he jumped off, flying into the air with our hands intertwined together. I flew with him, the two of us spiraling around the building, enjoying the cool night air. I let go of his hand, diving back down towards the street, allowing myself to fly when I was ten feet above the ground.
"So, where are we going?" I hummed, flying beside him as we let ourselves blend in with the dark sky. "City outskirts? Someplace where we can have some fun without getting caught by civilians." He laughed, nodding in agreement as we sped up, heading for the north side of the city.
We found a field, hidden away in the middle of the woods, with no buildings around it. I pointed to it, diving down, heading for the ground. He followed behind me, the two of us slowing down once we neared the grass, gently placing our feet on the ground.
My wings disappeared and I turned to look at Jungkook, seeing him sitting with his legs crossed on the grass, head up while he looked at the sky. I smiled, walking up to him and extending my hand for him to take. "Don't you want to find out if you can use my magic?"
That's all it took for him to stand up on his feet, eyes narrowed a bit with a look of determination upon his face. I smiled, taking a few steps back from him, keeping eye contact the whole time. "So, I think we need to concentrate and feel the power surge through us."
He nodded, closing his eyes. I watched, spotting the light blue color that tinted his fingertips. Happiness swelled within me and I smiled, seeing his eyes reopen as ice formed on the ground around him. "It works!" He shouted, jumping up and down. Water poured from his left palm, a gasp fleeing his lips.
Well would you look at that, it does work.
I smiled, my magic seeming to do its own thing, circling around me. My palms grew hot and began to glow orange, lighting up my features. "Try it!" He shouted, enthusiastic as can be. I aimed my palms at the ground, spinning around and letting the fire shoot from them. It lit the grass aflame and I smiled, watching the fire rise in front of me.
Water extinguished it, smoke rising into the air as I met Jungkook's eyes. This was surreal. I can't believe it worked. We possess one another's elements now. I stepped closer to him, furrowing my eyebrows when something cold hit my feet. I looked down, spotting the ice that encased them.
"Very funny, Cupcake," I teased, meeting his eyes with a playful glare. He giggled, shrugging innocently. "What?" I rolled my eyes, closing my eyes and reopening them seconds later. My flesh changed from what it was to ice, allowing me to move again. I was like an ice sculpture, except I could move.
"Okay now that's just not fair," He countered, arms crossed over his chest as the ice around him melted away. I laughed, changing my form back to its regular state, my flesh returning as the ice disappeared. My fingertips were orange, making my face light up from its glow.
"This is so amazing," I said, looking at Jungkook. "You're telling me? This is sick!" I laughed alongside him, tackling him to the ground and rolling around on the grass. "Let's just relax for a bit, enjoy our time together." He hummed in agreement, laying beside me as we stared at one another.
"I can't believe it worked," I whispered, letting my fingertips caress his cheek. "What does this mean for you then?" He shrugged, letting my fingers glide across his cheek. "Does this make you like me? An infinite?" His eyes met mine and I could feel myself slowly getting lost in them.
"What are you exactly?" I sighed, lips twitching upwards into a smirk. "What Soros and the other gods call an Infinite. My magic power never runs dry and it comes from my heart rather than my veins. Although, I'm not sure why I'm able to possess more than one magic element without dissipating." He cocked an eyebrow.
"Are you saying it's usually not possible to?" I shook my head, staring at the sky. "According to Soros, no. Three magic elements were something I don't believe he's seen before. Even with that, I never had trouble controlling them." He sat up, looking down at me.
"I possess three now, and I haven't vanished into thin air. Does that mean I'm like you?" I sat up too, shrugging because I truly didn't know. "I'm not sure. Do you have a limit to your magic power?" He nodded, playing with his fire magic. "Yeah, I can only use so much before it exhausts me completely and then there's just no more of it."
"But, you've been fighting a lot harder and using up more magic recently, right? Yet you're not as tired as you used to be?" He nodded. Oh shit, did this mean something for Jungkook? "I remember Soros telling me that it's possible to become like me, an Infinite, but it would take others longer than it did for me. Usually, it happens over time."
"And how does one become like you?" He questioned, elbowing my arm with a playful smirk on his face. I ruffled his hair, staring at the grass as darkness swirled around my fingers. "Honestly? I can't truly remember what Soros said. All I know is that my heart accepted the magic that was poured into me. And, I believe this is what he said, but it had to do with my past experiences."
Jungkook hummed, leaning his head on my shoulder. "Because you were neglected?" I shook my head, then stopped. "Well, that might be a part of it, but also because I was an outcast at school and constantly bullied. My heart was broken but it also could withstand the pain. Even despite all of that, according to Soros, my heart cares deeply for people I grow close to."
I laughed. "Seems about right now that I look at it all. I care about you, so much, that I'm willing to put everything on the line for you. The same thing goes for the rest of the Elementals and Soros. I'm willing to risk everything for them." Jungkook's eyes met mine and he smiled, leaning closer to me.
"Your heart truly is special, you know that? You deserve the magic elements you have right now. You deserve to be able to control three- well now four- magic powers." I smiled, pressing my lips to his in a quick, passionate kiss. When I pulled away, I pressed my forehead to his and just smiled.
"Soros says there's a great chance that you can become an Infinite like me, and I believe he's right. Maybe by possessing these two new powers, and being able to control them thus far, it means something. Like, maybe it's a step closer to becoming an Infinite." Jungkook smiled too, shrugging carelessly and pulling me down onto the grass.
"Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I think it's best if I figure that out at my own pace and don't rush things." I nodded, wrapping my arm around his waist. "Agreed, Cupcake." He laughed, hugging me back. "I'll have you know that I don't plan on using your magic elements unless I completely have to. If I don't, then I won't use it."
I kissed his neck, humming in agreement. "Same here. I have three powers of my own to worry about, the fourth will lie dormant within me. But when it comes alive, just know that the fire within me lives." His eyes lit aflame, sparkling with mischief while he smirked.
"I like that," He whispered, kissing my cheek, fingers traveling up my chest and under my shirt. They were warm and honestly burned, but it felt nice. His fingertips slid over my stomach, tracing the outline of my abs then ran up my chest towards my neck. I groaned, looking into his eyes.
"Look at you," He whispered, straddling my hips, keeping his palms pressed to my bare chest under my shirt. They were hot and it honestly made me a little weak. "You look so hot like this." I smirked, finding the strength within me. Darkness swirled around my body, tendrils grabbing his hands and pinning them behind his back.
I pressed my fingertips underneath his shirt and to his nipples, changing from ice magic to fire, watching as he squirmed and gasped. "Don't test me, Cupcake. I'm in control." He nodded, whimpering as I kept up my assault, torturing him and making him unable to move away. "Understood?"
"Yes! Yes, I understand!" I smirked, removing my hands and sliding them down his chest, watching as he slowly fell on top of me, the tendrils disappearing. My hands slid over his back as we laid there, relaxing underneath the stars. "We have a part of one another," I whispered, kissing his forehead.
"But for now, let's keep it our little secret."
