Chapter 4
Abigail was pulling Kara by the arm down a corridor, Alex hard on their heels.
"I-I'm not an elemental!" Kara spluttered in disbelief.
"You are, and a powerful one at that." Abigail retorted.
"You have already proved to us that." Alex began. "One of your bullies randomly caught fire, one nearly drowned, the other, choked. You are more powerful than any other elemental in the school!"
They rounded a corner, down a dark staircase, towards a door. Abigail kicked it open, more or less like a stuntman.
"Master!" She yelled through the room, as she and Alex dragged Kara through.
"Yes?" Said a voice from across the room.
Abigail and Alex both changed physically. Abigail's short brown pigtails turned a red and orange ombre, and had grown in size, now waist length on either side with sparks flying off the tips. Her hazelnut eyes turned a dark phoenix orange. Her clothes changed too. The long light yellow dress changed into almost like fire nation armour from Avatar: The Last Airbender, the netflix show, but with some differences. Alex's golden locks changed to a sea blue, his light blue eyes changed to a dark, deep, blue. His clothes also changed. The red hoodie that had been stretched to go longer than his knees, had also changed into looking like water nation armor from the same show.
"You look absolutely ridiculous!" Kara muttered, earning a glare from Abigail.
"What is it, my apprentice?" said a man, stepping from the shadows.
He had an aloof expression, as if he had just been elected president, and he held himself with a confident, arrogant posture. Kara hated him already, Abigail looked as if she didn't like him that much either.
"Ah, apprentice Alex, and, what is that?" He asked rudely.
"I'm not a WHAT." Kara said scathingly, curling her lip and baring her teeth in a snarl. The man looked surprised. And the other people in the room gasped, as if it wasn't normal to be talking back to this man. Kara finally shook off Abigail's hand. Taking steps forward towards the man, until he was towering over her, this is when Kara finally realised how tall he was. A small flicker of fear bubbled in her stomach, but Kara would never show it on her face.
"Never, call me a WHAT." She spat.
He chuckled.
"This one's got spunk." He said with a sly smile.
"She is an Elemental, another one of us." Abigail cut in.
"And a powerful one at that, she already uncovered to us that she can harness fire, water and air." Alex finished.
"Ah, and you have brought her to me to..." He asked.
"Teach her how to harness her powers and the ways of the Elemental." Abigail finished.
"She would be an asset in the war, we don't want her falling into the Fallis's hands." Alex added.
The man looked as if he was pondering something.
"Hold on, you are talking about me as if I were a tool!" Kara burst out of the silence.
"Oh my dear girl, you are no tool, you are a weapon." The man said, only fuelling Kara's anger.
"Welcome Kara, my name is Master Alderoff Kalikan," The man began.
"And welcome to the Elemental's."
