The green, metallic glow of the Slytherin house casted a dark shadow on Jack Frost's awaking face. Jack's eyes widened as he realized what day it was; immediately awake, Jack jumped up from his bed throwing open the canopy surrounding it. Rushing to get changed into his Hogwarts uniform and grabbing his wand, he exited the Slytherin Common Room and out of the dungeon. He ran up many of the stairs to meet up with the rest of his friends before entering breakfast.

Slowly gathering in order of Rapunzel– who was equally excited, Hiccup, and Merida– considering she woke up late. The four friends entered the Great Hall, turning a few heads, even if they had done it over a thousand times. Seventh Year was upon the Four, and they were lucky to how this year was going to go. The Four split up, going to their assigned tables with their housemates. Jack and Rapunzel were extremely excited because, not only had they entered their Seventh Year, this year was one of the years that the Triwizard Tournament.

Every five years, the Triwizard Tournament would come around, and this year, Hogwarts was hosting it. Jack was most excited because he was now able to enter, when the Seventh Years traveled to Durmstrang during Jack's second year, he wasn't able to enter. Nothing but the Moon could stop him from entering now. Jack was also excited to see the other Seventh Years from the other two schools– Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. He had never seen them before, either of them.

As Jack sat down to eat, he heard the others from his house talking about the same thing. It was rumored they would come during lunch or dinner that night. Everyone was excited, even if most of them weren't old enough to enter. Jack joined in on some of the conversations, some of which talked about what types of tasks there would be. Soon after, classes began, and Jack and the rest of his friends clustered together and walked to their first class.

It was dinner time when the Durmstrang and Beauxbatons students arrived. Jack remembered seeing a carriage carried by twelve Pegasus; which was surprising since all the Beauxbatons students came from the small carriage. It must have been enchanted, he thought. The Durmstrang students came via ship, a large wooden ship that arose from the sea surrounding Hogwarts. All the Hogwarts students sat at their House's tables, waiting for the Headmaster to give his speech and bring in the other schools.

Everyone started to get giddy with excitement when Headmaster North stepped up to the podium to give his welcoming speech. "Good evening, Hogwarts students!" He bellowed with a Russian accent. "Being a week into the school year, everyone has the layout of the school and school grounds." North's gaze skimmed the crowd, picking out the first years. "But as many of you know, five years ago a tournament was held–" everyone around Jack started whispering in excitement, "–And this year it will be held again! And I am pleased to say that Hogwarts will be hosting this year's Triwizard Tournament!" Uproar of cheers and applause erupted from the four house's tables. Jack joined in, cheering along as well.

North raised his hands, and everyone simultaneously hushed. "Now, if you would all be kind to give a warm welcome to the students of Durmstrang Institute!" The cheers and applause erupted again as the students of Durmstrang entered the Great Hall. They walked in with such confidence; it seemed like if someone set them on fire, they wouldn't seem to notice. Jack noted this in his mind, smirking slightly to himself. The mix between Seventh Year males and females walked down the Hall. Jack locked eyes with Hiccup over at the Hufflepuff table. Hiccup had told the others that his other friends were enrolled there. Even if they were his 'friends' they loved to tease him at any chance possible because he still wasn't "full Viking material." Following the students of Durmstrang was their Headmaster. Stoick the Vast, otherwise known as Hiccup's father. Jack locked eyes with Hiccup again, when he found him, Hiccup's gaze was following his dad as Stoick followed his students.

The Durmstrang students flocked to the Slytherin table after making their grand entrance. Jack didn't necessarily pay much attention, his gaze trying to find his friends at each table. North raised his hands again, calling out Silence! before everyone quieted down. He extended his arms, "The students of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic!" The doors to the Great Hall opened once again, welcoming the students of Beauxbatons. The girls of the group wore silvery blue uniforms with short capes, as they walked they seemed to entrance the boys. Jack couldn't help but smile at them; it was rumored most of the students at Beauxbatons were part Veela, which made the boys more in tuned to them.

Jack watched as they passed him, they're smiles enticing him. The students of Beauxbatons lined up towards the front, and in entered their Headmaster, Madame DunBroch, Merida's mum; along with two more students. Jack knew right then and there, the two girls following Madame DunBroch were definitely part Veela. They were both extremely pretty, one more than the other. She was platinum blonde, her hands clasped behind her respectively clothed in gloves that matched her uniform. She was poised, like royalty. Jack wondered why she and the other girl didn't file in with the rest. The students from Beauxbatons sat down with the Ravenclaw table, making Jack a bit sad.

North continued with his speech, talking about how those age of seventeen and older could enter the Tournament. The Goblet of Fire would choose the three champions representing the three schools, and the time for entering would be within a couple of weeks. There would be an age line so youngsters couldn't enter, blah, blah, blah, things Jack's heard before. North's speech ended and the feast began. Jack dug into his food, smiling at his friends when he caught their gaze.

                                                                        ❄ ❄ ❄

Jack looked over to his friends as he walked the halls with them to the courtyard. "They're part Veela, that's why guys can't take their eyes of them," Rapunzel stated, rolling her eyes towards the boys, who were still thinking about all the girl students from Beauxbatons.

"So?" Jack thought for a moment, "They're still girls who don't know us yet, we could have a chance!" Jack pointed to himself and Hiccup, who didn't really want to be interested in the conversation.

"They're not so pretty when they turn into harpies and try to eat ye," Merida said, then she wrinkled her nose, "Plus they're from Beauxbatons; the place where all the prim and proper people go."

"I see why you didn't get accepted then, Mer." Jack teased, giving a laugh.

Merida punched his arm, causing Jack to stumble. "Me mum was the one who wanted me to go; it's where all the royalty go."

"Not all of them," Rapunzel said, "You and I, we're here at Hogwarts."

"To be honest though, Punzie, you didn't know you were royalty before fifth year." Hiccup commented on the matter, bringing himself into the conversation.

"So what's up with you and those Durmstrang 'friends' you told us about? How bad are they?" Jack asked, changing the subject.

"They aren't all bad, just most of the people from Berk go to the Institute–"

"You just weren't macho enough," Jack said teasing Hiccup, too.

Hiccup sighed, "Just because I don't want to slay dragons and learn the Dark Arts like what they do, doesn't mean I'm not 'macho enough.'" Hiccup gave a sly smile, "Besides, you didn't get accepted to Durmstrang either."

Jack gave him an amused look, "After seven years, you finally learn to come up with better comebacks."

Merida and Rapunzel looked at each other. "Boys."

The four friends, or as others called them The Big Four, talked for a while longer, until curfew was upon them, and they had to separate ways. Jack headed down towards the dungeons, but not before noticing the two girls from Beauxbatons. The one, the blonde one, led the redder headed one along the grounds. They seemed to be on a walk, a walk where they wanted to be alone. Jack didn't have the right to go up and bud right into their walk anyways, it was rude, and even he knew that. It would make a bad impression; not to mention what Merida said. Majority of royalty go to Beauxbatons, which meant they probably were, too, right? Maybe during his free class tomorrow he would attempt to meet some of his possible future competition.

Jack said the password to his House, and made his way to the boys' dormitory. He quickly changed, and crawled into bed, falling into a dreamless sleep.

He woke up the next morning, waking up to the sound of excited housemates. Even though the Slytherin Common Room was usually quiet and intimidating, it seemed that this year, it was going to buzz with excitement. Jack smiled at those he passed on his way to class after breakfast. He had bid his 'see you later's to his friends earlier; Jack made his way to Charms class. This was everyone's first day of classes of the year, and Jack was actually excited about this year’s classes. Even though a lot of them would be canceled due to the Tournament, nonetheless, Jack was happy. He now had Astronomy, the one class he had been waiting for for seven years. For some reason, the stars and the moon calmed him. He could stare at them for hours.

Jack walked in to Charms; he took a seat roughly in the middle of the classroom. He took a long stare around the classroom, seeing who his classmates were. He stared at the door for a while, until a very familiar red head walked in the door. He waved her down, and she rushed over taking the seat next to Jack.

"I thought we didn't have any classes together in the mornin'." She said, giving him a smile.

"You're the one who didn't tell any of us your schedule, Merida," Jack stated, "But now Charms won't be all that boring, Professor Bunnymund loves to just drag on and on..."

Merida laughed, but stopped quickly when she looked over Jack's shoulder. Jack turned and faced a six foot tall rabbit. He gulped. "Is that all, Mister Frost?"

            "... Yes, Sir."

Bunnymund smirked, and walked between the desks and turned to face the students. "And with that, let class begin."

Merida walked alongside Jack as they exited Charms. "I can't believe ye didn't say somethin' sarcastic, or witty, or stupid to the Professor."

Jack looked down at his friend, "New year, new me," he said with a smirk.

"Right, and this year I'll actually let me mum teach me to be a princess," Merida retorted.

"Well..." Jack started, earning a glare from her, "What? She is here for basically the whole school year. Just wait until the Yule Ball." Jack grinned.

Merida dragged both of hands down her face, like she was clawing it. "Don't remind me."

The two friends turned a corner, leading to one of the corridors, as they walked down the corridor they were spotted by someone Merida didn't really want to see. "Merida!" her mum called, "There ye are! I've been lookin' for you all mornin'!"

Merida sighed, "I've been in Charms class, mum! We still have school, unlike your lot."

Her mum stared her down, "Do not raise your voice, young lady. It is not princess-like."

            Merida groaned, "Mum! I–"

"Excuse me, Madame DunBroch, but I'm afraid we have to get going, classes to get to." Jack interrupted.

Madame DunBroch sighed, but smiled. "Of course. And ye are?"

"Mum, ye've known him for seven years. It's Jack? Jack Frost?" Merida intervened.

"Oh, yes, of course. Jack." She smiled, "Well ye two must be going, don't want Merida bein' late for her next class." Merida started walking, and when Jack went to follow her, Madame DunBroch held him back, "Stay away from my girls, Jack. I don't want ye breakin' any of their hearts."

Jack stared at her, surprised of what she just said. "I–" She stared him down with a look even Merida would obey her under. Jack gulped for the second time that morning, "Yes, Ma'am..."

Madame DunBroch straightened up, flashing Jack a smile before leaving. Jack watched her leave. What was that about? he asked himself as he attempted to get to his next class.

                                                                       ❄ ❄ ❄

After a long and grueling morning of classes, Jack exited his last one of the morning: Defense Against the Dark Arts. It was finally lunch time, and then he had his free class, Apparition, then later that night: Astronomy. Not all his classes were horrible, only the ones without his friends (so far). He had Charms with Merida on Monday mornings, Alchemy every day, Transfiguration with Rapunzel every day, Defense Against the Dark Arts with Hiccup on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Ancient Runes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Apparition with all four of his friends every day after his free class, then Astronomy on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings.

Jack made his way to the Great Hall for food. He saw Hiccup walking beside Rapunzel and Merida, Jack jogged to catch up with them. "Hey, guys!" He greeted with a grin on his face. Each of them smiled and said 'hi.' Then Merida continued her conversation about Quidditch and how she was one of the best seekers Gryffindor has ever had. Jack joined in saying he was the best seeker the school had ever had.

"We'll see 'bout that, Frost." Merida said, smirking.

"Yes we will, DunBroch. First Quidditch match is in a couple of weeks, Slytherin versus Gryffindor," Jack gave her a smug look, "Just before Tournament entering."

Rapunzel perked up. "That reminds me! Who's going to enter the Tournament? I sure am, I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Merida gave a proud grin, "I am! And if I'm chosen, I'll be winnin'!"

"If you're chosen," Jack commented, "I'm entering, those Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students won't know what hit 'em!"

All their heads turned to Hiccup. "M-Me?" he stuttered, "I dunno, I'm still deciding..."

Merida nudged his arm, "Aw, c'mon. If we all enter, we'll have a better chance at havin' one of us in!"

"C'mon, you know you want to." Jack poked at his arms.

Rapunzel batted her eyelashes in a manner no one could refuse. Hiccup gave a long sigh, "Fine–" they all started cheering, "–But only because you're all bugging me."

The four entered the Great Hall, splitting up again to their respected tables. Jack sat at the edge of the Slytherin table, grabbing bits and pieces of different foods. He glanced around the Hall, catching the eyes of each of his friends; he smirked at each of them. He continued to look around the Great Hall, some of the other students stared at him, most being first years. Jack thought it was because of his hair, being an unnatural color of white. Being bored, he continued to look around; he caught a glimpse of another unnatural color of hair. Jack stopped his search, and stopped to get a good look at her. Her hair was a platinum blonde color, she had bright blue eyes. She was giving a small smile to the red headed girl across from her. Must be siblings, Jack thought. They were always together, not to mention when they entered the Great Hall yesterday, the two were together.

"Is your hair naturally white?" Came a voice to the left of Jack. He turned his head to be met by a blonde girl from Durmstrang.

"I think so?" He answered, yet it sounded more like a question.

The girl straightened up, smiling to Jack. She held her hand in front of her, "Astrid."

Jack looked at her hand for a moment, and then slowly took a hold of it, shaking it. "Jack."

Astrid crossed her arms, leaning them across the table, "Are you one of Hiccup's friends?" she noticed his confusion to why she knew Hiccup, "Sorry, I'm one of his friends from Berk."

Hiccup said his 'friends' from Berk all picked on him. "I don't think he's ever mentioned any of you, sorry." He lied, Jack didn't know whether or not this would hurt or help Hiccup. He was hoping it wouldn't do anything.

"Well then, never mind." Astrid replied, with a smile that even Jack could tell was fake.

Jack smiled weakly at her, "Well... I gotta go." He stood up, starting to leave the Hall.

"I'll see you around, tell Hiccup I said hi!" She said, waving goodbye.

Jack gave her a small smile, and then hurriedly walked out of the Great Hall. He didn't know where to go, so he let his feet take him somewhere. When he finally looked around at his surroundings, Jack noticed he was standing in the middle of the Courtyard. He had about an hour to kill until his Apparition class. He sat down on one of the many stone benches dotting the Courtyard. He decided that, with an hour to kill, he could take a nap. He wasn't specifically tired, but oh well. Jack lay down on the bench, closing his eyes.

Jack woke up to the sensation of someone poking him. He opened his eyes one at a time, the blinding sunlight pouring into them. When he adjusted to the light, he caught sight of who woke him up. The platinum blonde from Beauxbatons stared down at him, smiling a little. "I found you asleep, I thought I would wake you, your next class starts in ten minutes," she said. Her voice was kind, Jack looked at her weird though, "I found your schedule, it must have fell out of your cloak." She held his schedule out in front of her.

Jack sat up, graciously taking the schedule from her. "Thanks..."

"Elsa." She said, her smile growing a bit wider.

"Elsa," Jack said trying her name out, "Thanks, Elsa."

He stood up; slinging his bag he had with him over his shoulder. He smiled at her, thanking her again silently. He turned to leave when he heard her say, "And you are?"

Jack turned, giving her a closed smile. "Jack."

Elsa smiled. "It was nice to meet you, Jack."

"You too, Elsa." Jack left, smiling. Unintentionally he met the girl he wanted to talk to. Madame DunBroch's words filled his head again, stay away from my girls, Jack. He shrugged it off for the time being, making his way to Apparition class where his three friends were waiting for him.

A/N

YES. First chapter done! I can assure you the rest of the chapter won't be this long, maybe. Still deciding. First day at Hogwarts (with the Triwizard Tournament)! And still more to come. ;)

Off to the side is an easy to read chart of Jack's schedule. Unlike the mess of words earlier, so you're welcome! And all those classes are actual Hogwarts classes (THANK YOU, WIKI). Took unruling hours to figure out everything.

Enough with this little lengthly author's note, see you all in the next chapter (which should be somewhat soon)! -frosted
