Doomed.
Its a fancy word that means:
certain to fail, die, or be destroyed: This is a doomed city. Synonyms. fated. ill-fated. (Cambridge dictionary).
For eons, people with divine blood in them were born doomed to a cursed life.
Until he changed it all.
He went against a fundamental decree of the fates, hence taking upon himself the pain of thousands of new divines.
Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for him, he was never doomed as it was certain that he would never fail, die or be destroyed. He was the destroyer, that would bring doom to the enemies that face him.
Hundreds of thousands of enemies against that 1 man.
Wonderful odds for him.

Serena found it hard to be accepted in a completely new school out of no where. She was already a world renowned singer, and she did not need any more schooling. Besides she needed to get out of there, as she was already sure that the world was out searching for her or would think that she died.
Serena had lived a harsh life since the moment she was born. She never knew her mother because apparently she had dumped her to Serena's father as soon as she was out of her mother. Those days with his father were the best in Serena's life yet, but they were short lived. When Serena was 5 years old, her father was interrogated by FBI agents and other government agencies. It was for some reason no one explained to her. She was forced into foster system at that age. For 3 years she stayed at one house, until the day the news came that her father had been shot and he passed away.
That night, Serena ran away from the foster house. She ran and ran and never turned back. In Fresno, she met with a girl named Maggie. She was 16 years old and was too running away. From what, nobody knew, and nobody dared to ask, because she was always give a frightening glare whenever someone asked her about it. Maggie became like Serena's guardian, and she was the only one Serena could trust absolutely. Besides Maggie, there was another 15 year old girl named Lyra and her 7 year old brother Chris. They were running away from foster system too.
For the next 6 years it was the four of them. All four of them were running from something or the other. It was there that Serena began singing. She sang with her heart then, as she used to feel even the trees swaying to her voice.
Later she became popular at the age of 15. Unfortunately, her happiness couldn't last as Maggie died a couple of months later. When Maggie died, the group of 3 couldn't manage themselves on their own. Chris was retaken into foster system. Only Lyra and Serena remained but they separated ways soon after. So Serena went on to become the most popular singer of her age, unable to leave behind her tragic past.
Serena's education only lasted till her foster ages. Beyond that all she knew was how to survive in the wilderness, how to hunt and some other stuff that she was taught by Maggie.
Alyssa Leah, the head girl councilor, was tasked to accompany Serena to classes and to help her to cope up with the studies of previous years. Alyssa had happily agreed to this, mainly because she was curious to know about a Mersiren. Mersirens were rare, but mersirens who walked on land, and looked like a complete human: they were rarer still.
"Follow me. We should reach Science class at least a few minutes early to catch you up on what's going on."
Classrooms in this school were more or less similar to class rooms in high schools, unless you consider the wooden benches, a huge, literally huge tree in the middle of the big circular room, walls made of . . . gods - sorry gods know what, floor made of the same material as the walls, and blackboards. Blackboards were 20th century things in the modern world, but guess they served the function of writing here.
So, the classes were nothing similar to high school classes. Serena wondered how on Earth did they manage to fit a tree like that in a building, but she decided some things are better left un-answered when she saw a lake filled with sharks on the other room and a dangling corpse on the walls of the staircase.
"Here, put this on. It helps with the Dyslexia." Alyssa said handing over a black colored sunglass sort of thing to Alyssa. "You can come with me after classes if you want contacts."
"I don't have Dyslexia. . . " Serena replied.
Alyssa raised an eyebrow at that, and looked like she registered an important fact in her mind. "Its just that most demigods and divines have dyslexia or ADHD. Anyways, let's get on with studies."
Saying so, Alyssa seated herself on the front row and took out a thin book. The classroom was still empty and there was 15 minutes before the class began. Serena sat beside Alyssa and looked at the book.
It was basically about difference between circulation system of humans and various divines. Loads of divine creatures were mentioned there, like demigods, legacies, nymphs, demi-nymphs, dryads, Naiads, Oceanids, their children, their legacies, cross legacies, satyrs, demi-satyr, and so many others. Even Sirens were mentioned there, but there was no mention about Mer-siren. All that was hinted at them was that 'children of sirens and humans did not and could not exist because of some sort of incompatibility'. So the book basically refused to accept that Serena existed.
"Probably because you're one of the first of your kinds. The ones who made this books never met Mersirens I suppose."
Sirens had ichor and water in their arteries and veins. As such, Serena should have been unable to live anywhere other than under water.
The book was just filled with all sorts of characteristic rules - rules that Serena had completely violated by existing. After a point, even Alyssa began to feel sad for the girl.
The class started. Around 30 students entered the class. Professor Dumpty, (which was his real name) was a short fat person who taught science.
Author's note: Please don't form this image in your mind.
(just an AI made image. This is NOT what happened lol. Don't imagine Mr. Humpty Dumpty as this. )
End of A/N.
Professor Dumpty was a more or less a nice teacher, who preferred to pay more attention to the front benchers than the back ones. Also he was extra nice to Alyssa as if she was her favorite student, which she probably was.
Serena did not have much idea about circulatory system, but she decided she could listen to the egg- i mean Mr. Dumpty.
When the class was about to end, Axel Klein, the boy head councilor secretly sneaked inside the class by climbing down the huge tree. The teacher couldn't see him, but when he caught Serena's eye, he winked as if saying 'this is normal. just stay silent. Please?'.
Finally the class ended after 1 hour, and the attendance was taken. Then the students filed out of the class.
"What was that?" Serena asked Axel, on the way out.
"Biology's not my thing. . . mostly" He replied. "That tree has more than one uses. Helps me bunk classes while keeping myself 'present'." He replied.
Alyssa who was walking on the other side of Serena rolled her eyes at Axel's dramatics.
"C'mon practical lessons up next. Hope you are good with PE." Saying that Axel increased his pace to catch up with his other friends.
"Kids of Hephaestus. They are good at PE. Loads of practices from beating hammer on metal sheets." Alyssa informed her.
Unfortunately PE was not how Serena expected it.
As soon as Serena stepped out of the building into the green fields, her sight fell on a huge golden bronze dragon which was breathing fire.
"Say hi to Festus!" Axel screamed from top of the head of the dragon.
