.10.
2 weeks had passed since Antony had first laid step on the grounds of New Olympus.
2 weeks.
That sounded like a long time, but in real, 2 weeks passed like a blink.
New Olympus was a pocket dimension world. A world that shouldn't exist, but stands to violate all laws of Nature. This world was a different degree of weird. Huge trees grew in rooms, closet doors led to to vast swimming pools which were actually oceans, some rooms seemed to have no ceilings, even though there were floors on top of that. Everything there seemed to be like an illusion. Every step inside was a challenge. All sorts of trials faced people who took the wrong step or made a wrong move.
The whole building was crazy. However on stepping out of the building, it was a whole different world outside. Clear green grass on one side, while a huge lake on the other side below a tall waterfall. Across the grasslands, just before the forest line started, was the training zone. It was where all the legacies trained in all kinds of combats, hand to hand, swords, spears, mace, hammer, axe, archery and everything.
"You need to get better at dodging, and faster." Mira instructed while tackling Antony and putting him to the ground. Mira was Antony's instructor. After 4 days of trying out various weapons and powers, which included a lot of clumsiness and weird awkward moments, it was found that Antony was a new level of awesome with a crossbow. After 1 week of continuous training, Antony could shoot down around 18 targets in 1 minute, at least as long as those targets were still.
"Let's do this again." Saying that, Mira pulled up Antony and went back a few steps. Antony reloaded his crossbow and pointed it at Mira.
"You ready?" She asked. Antony went through all the details in his mind again. With Mira's high speed rush at Antony, he only got time for a handful of 4 shots at her, 5 if lucky. He needed just 1 proper shot at Mira.
Antony nodded to give the signal. Mira rushed at him at fast speed. Antony shot the first arrow while taking steps back. Mira sliced through the flying arrow with her dagger. The next arrow- she blocked it with her wrist shield; the third one she dodged, and the fourth arrow nicked passed her ear.
Then Mira was back again pinning Antony to the ground.
"Dead again."
"I want a break."
"Your enemies won't take a break."
"Please."
"Your pleases won't win over the enemies."
"What about you?"
"Fine, we will continue in the afternoon."
"Thanks a lot. "
Antony managed to remain standing as he went to grab a coffee after 4 hours of continuous training. Apparently this school even had a Starbucks in the 2nd floor. There he met with Axel Klein. The mechanical genius of the school, and head counsellor. In his hands were a couple of circuits and wires everywhere. Antony went and sat beside Axel.
"What's up?" Axel asked without taking his eyes off the circuits.
"4 hours of Mira."
Axel nodded sympathetically while keeping his focus on the circuit boards on his hands.
"What are you trying to make?" Antony asked out of curiosity.
"Just trying to get this dumb motherboard to work properly. I'm making adjustments to Festus."
Festus was the giant dragon protector of this school. Once ever week the students are put in battle against the dragon. It was 'Physical Education', as it included a LOT of running, jumping and stuff that people do when they want to survive. Last time I lasted 12 minutes in the arena before the dragon blew hot fire in my back. It took 2 days in the medical ward to cool it off.
"So I was wondering-"
CRASH!
Antony turned back to see what had just happened.
All of a sudden it began to rain cats and dogs.
Not real cats and dogs, just a figure of speech.
Lightning blazed through the sky.
"What the-" Axel muttered.
It was a bright and sunny day just a few minutes ago. Although odd things like this were supposed to be expected in here, but in the last 2 weeks, there was no sign of rainfall.
"That's not supposed to happen. Is it?"
"We better go and find out." Axel answered.
Both Axel and Antony hurried down the staircase towards the general room. It was where people gathered in case of any issues.
Right at that moment, the general room was filled with students, and Ms. Cynthia, the chief counsellor of the students, was trying to calm the whole room down.
"What's up?" Antony asked Belousova, who was another student 1 year above Antony.
"Nobody knows. Divinity has never experienced a thunderstorm for a century as we can control the atmosphere around us. A thunderstorm can only mean that there's external influence poking around Divinity." Belousova replied.
Soon enough Chiron galloped into the general room with a grave face.
"I'm afraid, the East sphere has been weakened by some thing or the other. Everyone above the age of 16 are going to be posted on duties at the East Coast."
What? Antony asked Axel with his expression. Axel shrugged in response.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
The east coast was a fine spot for Antony. Being close to the sea always relaxed him.
"Hey, stop chilling. We are supposed to be on duty here." Alyssa shouted from top of the fence line.
"Party-pooper" Axel muttered. Axel and Antony were under a big umbrella, sipping orange juice, as if enjoying a holiday in Hawaii.
Serena, meanwhile, was sitting on a rock far away, humming tunes to herself. Whether it was for self defense, or for entertainment, no one could say, as her music was her super power.
"Hey Antony, you are a son of Oceanus. Can't you do something with the sea water around?" Axel asked.
"I don't know. I tried before but it never succeeded. The water helps me calm down, heal, get energy, but I can't manipulate it."
"Well, must be different with Oceanus then. History says that children of Poseidon could cause hurricanes that could destroy entire coastlines and islands at the bare minimum."
Axel wondered whether to be happy or sad at this. Destroying coasts and islands was never something he wanted to do.
"Hey Alyssa, you should come down here!" Axel shouted towards Alyssa.
"No thanks. This place offers a good view. You useless guys just remain sitting there."
"Fine! Your loss."
Alyssa, Axel, Serena and Antony were stationed at the middle of the coastline for 6 hours. They had to do it every 2 days for at least 2 weeks until the sphere of protection was repaired.
"So what happens if something does attack us here right now?" Antony asked. "I mean the 4 of us can't really fight against a horde of monsters if they come and decide to attack us."
"Who said it's just the 4 of us. Look there." Axel pointed at a grove of trees a few yards away from the coast line.
"Yea, what?"
Axel let out a low whistle.
Festus, the giant bronze dragon lifted his face from behind the trees, and then went again.
"They would have to face a mechanical indestructible fire breathing dragon at its rage mode. I am kinda hoping that the monsters make a fatal mistake of coming here. We can test Festus' new laser eyes then, that I installed day before yesterday."
"You don't really need to worry about monsters." Serena said. She had come back from her rock with her guitar in hand. "I should be able to make them kill themselves. I did something like that before already."
"Wait. Where did you see a monster before?" Axel asked curious.
"Oh- it was in SoFi stadium-"
"Guys! You should see this." Alyssa shouted from above pointing towards the horizon of the sea.
The three of them stared at the horizon with complete shock.
"What in all the stupid gods' names is that?" Axel breathed out.
A dark shadow began covering the sky from the horizon at a rapid speed, coming towards the coastline. Complete darkness seemed to be approaching them.
"What the f-".
