Chapter Three

I went to bed straight away. No way was I about to let Elliot tell me what to do while my parents weren't here. I said goodnight to Hayden politely, since he had done nothing wrong or anything to piss me off.

Unlike his brother who hit me with a football, acted like a dick, laughed about it then tried to pull my tshirt up.

I lay down in the clothes my auntie had thankfully lent me, and the boys were currently wearing the clothes my uncle had left behind. There were still a few spare things. They were all a little big but we didn't mind, it was more comfortable.

As soon as my head hit the pillow I started to think. What had happened today, now, and the future. A mystery.

However, the idiot had other plans. He barged into my room topless may I add, with a pillow in his hands and Hayden not far behind. However, Hayden was wearing a tshirt.

"What are you doing?" I sighed, rubbing my eyes. "I want to sleep, it's 9pm and I have jet lag." I pouted.

"Exactly. It's 9pm! Lighten up," Elliot said.

"Sorry, I gotta agree with my brother. Let's have some fun!" Hayden said with a little less enthusiasm but who cares? He wasn't on my side!

Knowing I have no way of winning this, I sat up. "What do you want to do then?" I shrugged.

"But after we do it, you let me sleep. Got it?"

The boys nodded eagerly, turning to each other and whispering.

"Hide and seek." Hayden announced after about 3 minutes.

"You're serious? It took you 3 minutes to decide you want to play a kids game of hide and seek?" I shook my head, "No, I don't think so!"

"Well then, little one, looks like you're not getting any sleep tonight," Elliot ruffled my hair.

"Get off of me," I grumbled. "And you don't know I'm younger than you," I stated, holding my head high. He looked about my age which gives me the chance of being a few months older than him.

"I'm 16."

"Well so am I!" Ha. I am definitely older than him.

"Birthday is December 29th, 1998."

"Oh. Uhm. February 4th, 1999," I mumbled. Elliot raised his arms in triumph.

"Well I'm 19 so I'm older than you both; which means I'm boss!" I really liked Hayden. As a friend, obviously but he seemed really cool and just in general such a calm person.

I could tell I was going to be friends with him this holiday.

"Well since you're oldest, choose who's on." I crossed my arms, hoping it wasn't me. Secretly I am a big kid, and who likes being on? Nobody.

"Elliot! Count to ten, 3..2..1... GO!" Me and Hayden ran from the bedroom, him slipping into the bathroom and me running down the stairs.

I looked around for places to hide and chose somewhere simple; under the table.

But soon after I hear footsteps on the stairs, and feet creep closer to where I was standing. I heard the curtain move and smiled to myself, lifting my head. Bad idea.

I hit my head off of the table, causing a slight bang and a pain to my head. Footsteps approached and a shadow pulled the cloth from the table, peering down at me.

"Gotcha, heard you come down the stairs. You're it!" And then he was gone.

I counted slowly to ten, enjoying the peace and quiet, before standing up and climbing the stairs. I wonder if Hayden was still in the bathroom..

I looked behind the shower curtain, nothing. I looked inside the storage cupboard, still nothing.

A wash basket caught my eye, one that was just tall enough for Hayden to crouch down inside of.

Got him. I opened the wash basket to find Hayden and he hopped up almost immediately.

"Everything hurts," he whined. "That thing is not comfy," he rubbed his arm.

"You're it!" I ran, heading for the guest room and slipping into the wardrobe.

"What are you doing?!" Someone whisper shouted.

I gasped in a sudden fright, it was too dark.

"Who's there!?" I whispered back to the stranger.

"Elliot, you idiot. Who else? You stole my hiding place!" I gasped and moved as far away as I could from him.

I was going to find another place to hide when I heard footsteps. Looks like I'm stuck here.

Elliot sniggered. "So, wanna play 7 minutes in heaven instead?" I could just see that annoying smirk he does all the time.

I stayed silent, not wanting to be found. I heard the footsteps move from the bedroom we were in.

"Is that a yes?"

I stayed silent again, ignoring him. That was certainly not a yes.

But he must of took my silence as an answer, as he took my hand and spun me round to face him. He flund my lips in the dark and kissed me. What? Why am I not doing anything to stop this?

I didn't need to do anything. The cupboard doors were tore open, as we quickly broke apart. Light shone in my eyes, as I adjusted to the sudden brightness.

What had just happened?

"Uhm- what.. What did I just see?" Hayden stared between us both, looking a bit confused.

"I was scared of the dark. He was comforting me." I replied and walked out of the tension filled room. Time for bed I think.

"Wait, where are you going?" Hayden asked. Elliot still hadn't said a word.

"Bed."

"No- it's been 15 minutes. That was barely a game and now it's already over since I found you both at the same time. Cmon, please, you can choose what we do."

Elliot looked unsure but nodded. He still hasn't said anything.

"Fine," I agreed. This might be fun.

"We bake a cake," I smile innocently. I am the best at making cakes.

"A cake?" Hayden raised his eyebrows. "But it's like half 9."

"Lighten up!" I used Elliot's previous words to me.

I skip down the stairs and into the kitchen to see we had everything we needed for the cake, other than eggs. I sighed.

"Elliot, go to the shop and get eggs." I ordered.

He finally spoke, "What shop will be open at 9pm? Come on," he whined, it looked pretty cold out there too. Payback for him like, attacking me in that cupboard.

"Find a convenience store, anywhere, just hurry. Hayden can stay here and start the cake with me," I grinned.

Now that I think about it? Hayden is actually kind of cute.. Hm.

This is already so messy. Elliot kissed me and I think I'm attracted to his older brother. Go relationships! 20 minutes later me and Hayden had made the cake batter thanks to Elliot getting the eggs.

Just about the only thing he's ever done thats decent.

Hayden announced he needed to pee, so it was just me and Elliot.

"So uhm.. Let's not have one of those cliché food fights, okay?" I said.

He nodded awkwardly. "Look, that kiss-"

"It's fine, it was a mistake I know. All is good." I smiled.

"Right- well, actually," he was interrupted by Hayden entering the kitchen again.

We put the cake into the oven, setting a timer.

"I'm just gonna go watch a bit of TV, yeah?" Elliot said. I could tell he wanted to get out of here, and fast.

Me and Hayden nodded and started talking again. We got on so well. His laughter rung my eyes, it was such a cute laugh.

I couldn't even hear what he was saying anymore. I cut him off with my lips on his, and he kissed back.

Thank god, otherwise that would of been so awkward. I grabbed the back of his neck, why couldn't this moment last for ever?

We were interrupted by a quiet cough in the corner of the room. Elliot was standing at the door, and as he stared into my eyes, I could straight away recognise the look of hurt and something else I couldn't quite grasp.

He walked away and Hayden looked a bit confused.

I'd kissed two brothers I'd known for 12 hours in one day. What was I thinking?

N/A- okay so wow this chapter is like 1400 words long and my other two are only 1000 so yay me but idk where the hell im going with this story. I'm clear on what I wanna do further on but rn idk I'm kinda just going with it so bear with me
