Tutorial 2 : Two cover designs for a single-word title

Hey!
How are y'all?
I hope y'all are doing well.

My exams are over and now I will be available here more. So, let's start with the 2nd tutorial. We are going to make two kinds of designs for a cover.

These types of designs are good when you have a single word title. I just published them in CROWNED as it was an order by Socray19

First design for the cover :

Let's start!

App used : Canva

Step 1 : Create a new page for the cover and add a picture for the cover. Make it fit the frame properly.

(Note : If you want to learn from the basics, please check chapter 1 before proceeding here.)

Step 2 : Add text to the cover. I have used "Brenoru SemiCondensed" here. You can add any font but make sure it is bold for this design. Also, change the color of text to something dark, related to the color scheme.

Step 3 : Tap on the text and then tap on the "effects" option given below. Tap on the "lift" option and increase the lift to maximum to lift the text.

(Note : Lift is only helpful when you need a slight lift to the text. If you want more enhancement to the text, then you gotta follow the trick I mentioned in the last tutorial.)

Step 4 : Tap on the "Text" option given below and search any font you want to use in the search bar. In this design, we need something cursive. I'm using the font— "Billion Miracles" here.

Step 5 : Now, add other details in the cover, such as the author's name, credits, subtitle, etc. to complete the cover.

Here, our first design is done!

Now, I felt that this cover wasn't able to fill the cover fully because the author didn't want any subtitle on the cover. Therefore, I came up with this second design.

Second design for the cover :

Steps for this design :

Step 1 : I shifted the credits to the bottom of the cover and added another text on the cover. I wanted a kind of long (tall) font, so I can create a gap between it. I used font— "Six Caps" here.

Step 2 : Tap on the text and then on the "duplicate sign" to create a copy of the text.

Step 3 : Place the copied text over the original one and then tap on the "nudge" option. Some arrows will appear. You can use these arrows to shift the text in any direction. By using these arrows, shift the copied text slightly in either left or right side to make it look bold.

Step 4 : Now tap on the picture, and make a copy of the picture. Place the place in the exact place of the original one. Crop the picture by using the '–' sign on the edge of the picture. Crop it in such a way that it makes a gap between the text.

Step 5 : Tap on the "text" option. Add another cursive text for the gap we made. I used the font— "Buongiorno Rastellino" here. Place it in the gap we created.

This design is more successful when we have a good space in the picture for the text.

By adding different fonts, some other samples can be created too.

By using the font— "Gistesy"

By using the font— "Breathing"

So, that's all for today.

I know I said to some people that I'll include the mock up tutorial, but wattpad only allows 20 pictures per chapter. The next chapter will be dedicated to the use of mock-ups.

Stay tuned.
Keep practicing!

Buh-bye!
