"You TRAITOR!" Jimin roared, tugging against the hold on his wrists but to no avail, the guard only held him tighter.
Jungkook laughed at the thrashing boy, cocking his head.
"I can't believe you! You- you-" Hoseok fumed, unable to finish his sentence.
"I what, Hobi hyung," He grinned, "Spit it out."
"Kookie-ah?" Taehyung whispered, looking up at the younger with wide eyes filled with disbelief.
"Yes, Tae Tae?" He sang in a sing-song voice, walking over to kneel in front of the elder with a shameless smile.
"Come here you little-" Jimin growled, wanting to smack the smug grin off the maknae's face. The latter only laughed cheerily, standing up and sauntering along the line of captives.
"Don't you have anything to add, Namjoon hyung?" Jungkook chuckled, and the leader grunted.
"I should have known."
The younger shrugged before moving on to the eldest hyung, giving him a big smirk.
"You were our little dongsaeng....why did you do this," Jin slumped, dropping his gaze to the floor as tears pooled in his eyes.
"Now that is a good question," He nodded. "Which we'll explain in a minute. But first," He stepped in front of Yoona and squatted down to her level.
"Aren't you going to say anything, babe?" He laughed, soft and gleeful, mocking and hurtful.
She didn't know what to say.
She didn't know what to think.
"I love you," She blurted out, a subconscious thought.
Jungkook quirked an eyebrow. "Is that all you have to say? I'm disappointed," He shrugged, standing up and making his way back to Melantha's side.
Yoona watched the way his lips curled into a smile that used to be filled with innocence and friendliness but now only held hostility and malice. She observed his eyes which were once occupied with warmth and love but now only with an evil glint.
Where was the Jungkook she loved?
The answer was simple.
He never existed.
Numbness. Emotionless.
For the first few moments she felt nothing, nothing at all. It was as if the world had detached itself from her, hearing no sound as the room shook ever so slightly, like she had been picked up and dumped in a dream where she couldn't partake in the events, only witness them.
Cold. Lonely.
Then all of a sudden there it was, the dull throbbing that began in the centre of her chest, thumping and thumping, spreading the pain all the way to the tips of her fingers and toes. The lump slowly formed in her throat, uncomfortable and heavy, restricting her ability to take a breath, short puffs of air shooting from her nose as her eyes moistened, blurring her vision.
The reel on her mind only played the same movie over and over again, a movie only she would see - them, together, from when they first met to the night they spent exposing themselves fully to each other, only now she realised the only one vulnerable and exposed all this time was herself and all of a sudden Yoona wanted to scream and sob and cry but she couldn't; she couldn't.
Was this what heartbreak felt like?
Because if it was, then it was drowning her.
And she wasn't sure if she could resurface.
"So, back to Jin hyung's question," Jungkook stated like a teacher explaining a lecture. "Where do we start, Mel?"
The corners of the mentioned girl's lips quirked upwards to give some what of a smile.
"Where do we start, Jungkook?" A soft tinkly laugh escaped from her mouth.
"Humans. Pathetic creatures, aren't they?" She said softly, not waiting for an answer.
"Completely ruining our beautiful planet. Look at them, strutting around the place like they own it," The disgust was evident in her tone.
"As you can see, I am a chemical genius," She smirked, "And I thought...why not use my ability to do some good to the world?"
"And what would that be?" Namjoon gritted his teeth, and Melantha tutted.
"Patience, you never had it," She sighed, before tilting her head and gazing at him patronisingly.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm going to make the world a better place. Stupid humans, who think they're the most superior, I'll turn them all into nothing but robots, elite robots that follow our every command. I'll make the world mine," She laughed, and Jungkook gazed at her with a look of what could be called admiration.
It made them feel sick.
"What, like the ones who are fighting in your army now? You want to turn the world into one full of those?" Taehyung scoffed, and the girl sighed again.
"Of course not, Kim Taehyung," She said his name in such a condescending tone that it made him growl, which only made her smile widen.
"Those are war machines, of course I wouldn't make every human into that. Besides, they're simply prototypes, the real deal will be of a much higher class," She shrugged. "Don't you want the world to be rid of the pathetic creatures it's currently run by?"
"You're sick. Leave the humans alone, they're fine," Hoseok snarled, and Mel laughed.
"I'm afraid I can't do that," She smiled softly. Hoseok simply rolled his eyes, giving her a dirty look.
"Jungkook, why did you take part in this?" Jin looked straight at him, hurt flashing in his eyes.
"You see," The younger began. "When Mel took me along with her, initially I was angry, I wanted to come back. But, then after being explained everything, I began to agree with the logic, you know?"
"What logic?! What bloody logic is there in this?" Jimin spat, and Jungkook glanced over at him and sighed mockingly.
"Only the ones with superior minds would understand, Jimin."
That statement evoked snarls and frowns from all the members who were kneeling on the floor.
Jimin let out a stream of curse words that made Jungkook laugh.
"How did you do it?" Namjoon glared at the younger boy.
"Do what?" He asked innocently, and Namjoon scoffed.
"You know what I mean. How did you spy on us, when you weren't with us. How did you know where each of us where in the castle, how did you know Yoona and Taehyung had found Yoongi? There was no way you could have found us all in the time you did," Namjoon questioned.
Jungkook smirked.
"Oh, that's easy. First of all, you forgot the key thing," After saying this he vanished on the spot and Namjoon's shoulders slumped.
"Of course," He muttered. "Invisibility. How careless."
"And," He walked over, grabbing the leader's phone from one of the pockets on his gear.
He slipped off the phone case and held it up.
"Here's one," He pointed to the tiniest tracking chip in the inside corner of the case, causing Namjoon's eyes to widen.
Jungkook went down the line.
"Two," He pulled off the shoe of the little Mario figurine keyring Jin always kept on him for good luck, revealing the second chip.
"Three," Embedded in the hilt of Hoseok's club.
"Four," The underside of Jimin's silver ring which he never took off, so how Jungkook managed to implant it was beyond Jimin. Most likely in his sleep, he thought wryly.
"Five," Taped to the back of the photo of Taehyung's parents and dog, which Taehyung had zipped up in the pocket of his gear ever since he'd gotten it and had never removed the picture, not even to look at it. He'd kept it as a little good luck charm, and the fact that Jungkook had laid his fingers on it when even he hadn't removed it made his blood boil.
"Six," Inside the cap of Yoongi's pen. Suga always kept that black-coloured pen on him in case he thought up lyrics or song ideas.
"And finally, seven," Jungkook slipped his hand underneath Yoona's glove and her breath hitched at the touch. He didn't even spare her a glance as he yanked the grey pearl bracelet, a single tear rolling down her cheeks as the beads scattered on the floor.
The boy dropped the silver heart on the floor and crushed it beneath his foot, bending down to pick up the small tracker chip amidst the ruins, a satisfied smile dancing on his lips.
And then suddenly Yoona had another thought.
"The scars?" She whispered, unsure if Jungkook heard her, but he did.
His grin brightened.
"Oh of course!" He chuckled. "They're fake."
"F-fake?" She gasped.
Of course they were fake. Everything about him is fake.
"That's right. Mel can alter the physical appearance and emotion state of people and turn them into something completely new through her development of serums. Do you not think she can paint on some realistic scars?" He chuckled, and if they didn't know better they would have thought Melantha looked almost modest at Jungkook's comment.
"But do you know the best part," Jungkook smirked, stepping over to squat in front of the brown haired boy.
"Do you know who is going to be the most hurt, Jimin?" Jungkook smiled sweetly, and Jimin gritted his teeth.
"Do you know who feels the most heart broken right now?" He cocked his head, but Jimin just glared at him.
"I think you know. It's the girl who you fell in love with Jiminie," He smiled gleefully, pretending to flick dust off the elder's shoulder.
"The girl who you like so so much...but she still fell for me, didn't she?" He giggled like a school girl, and Jimin's anger was building up, accumulating like pressure in a gas tank about to burst any moment.
"And guess what? I just broke her heart," Jungkook leaned forward, close to Jimin's ear. The latter's fists clenched and his jaw set, just before Jungkook whispered ever so quietly.
"What are you going to do about it?"
"You little shit!" Jimin roared as that comment tipped him over the edge, finally yanking his wrists free of the guard's grasp, and that was when all hell broke loose once again.

Someone commented on the previous chapter about Yoona's bracelet being a tracking device - good job for figuring that out! 👍
