"So what is the plan?"
They were still sat slumped in their seats, the silence finally broken by Taehyung's question. Most of the shrugged, whilst Namjoon rubbed his forehead.
"Well, we could- Jin, are you alright?" Namjoon scrunched up his face in confusion, and Jin frowned at him.
"What do you mean?"
"Did you just try to say something? Why did you make such a weird noise in my head?" Namjoon cocked his head, still confused. Jin looked equally perplexed as he narrowed his eyes.
"I was telling you to relax because you looked stressed. How was that a weird noise?" Jin chuckled.
It was Namjoon's turn to frown.
"No, that's not what I heard. It was more like a weak whine- Wait." Namjoon cut off, narrowing his eyes and placing his hands flat on the table.
"Try say something again, Jin."
It was silent as they watched this exchange, when Namjoon's eyes hardened.
"There it is again. Whatever you're saying isn't getting to me, it's just an incoherent noise. Jimin, do something. Change your appearance." The leader commanded, and Jimin immediately obeyed.
Well, attempted to obey.
His features displayed a look of concentration, but all that changed was that his hair colour lightened slightly but that was about it.
Namjoon let out a low growl as the others began to realise what their leader was hinting at.
"Taehyung, mimic my voice. Now."
"Taehyung mimic my voice. Now." V tried to say. Normally it would be an exact replica, but now it just sounded like Taehyung on a bad day.
Namjoon snarled, standing up, causing his chair to scrap backwards against the tiles.
"How long has this been happening?!" He shouted, his face scrunched up in anger.
"How long has someone been weakening our powers?!" Namjoon was angry, to say the least.
And then it suddenly dawned on Yoona as well.
"That's why my power hasn't shown yet..." She whispered, as a few glances turned her way.
"I thought it was just late but actually it was being restrained."
Namjoon nodded.
"In some way we must have been consuming the chemical that weakens powers and in your case, stops it from appearing at all. But how?" He mused, until his gaze fell on the bowls in the centre of the table.
"Of course," He muttered dryly, picking up a spoon of the soup that was by now going cold, letting it drip slowly from the spoon back into the bowl.
"In our everyday meals. Ingenious," Namjoon slumped back in his chair, resting his head in his hands.
"Did anyone not think to mention that their ability wasn't working?"
"W-we didn't know," Jungkook gulped, and the others nodded.
"Usually it's Yoongi who uses his power at home, the rest of us don't have domestic uses for ours..." Jimin trailed off, and Namjoon had to admit he was right. Yoongi usually was the only one who'd move things about when he was too lazy to get up himself. The others' special abilities weren't as useful inside the house.
Namjoon slammed his fists on the table, letting out an angry yell. Now, if it were a normal case, the table would have immediately shattered to pieces due Namjoon's abnormal strength. However now, there was not even a crack.
"Who do we even trust anymore," He muttered, standing up and stomping out. After a few awkward moments of silence, one by one everyone began to retreat to their own rooms, too afraid to speak or say anything to anyone.
Yoona sat in her room - well, sprawled across her bed, sighing for what was probably the sixth time in the past minute.
Who could it be?
To be quite honest, it could be anyone.
It could be Namjoon, who held the most power over the group; who just 'happened' to see someone outside the supermarket with the photos that time, and he was the one who told her she'd left her sword in the gym when she knew she hadn't. Maybe that angry stunt at the table was all an act.
It could be Jin, who did the majority of the cooking and so could have easily slipped in the chemical to prevent her power from developing, and to reduce the effectiveness of the others' abilities.
It could be Taehyung, who knew and received the call from Melantha, but said it was an 'unknown number.' The mood-changing V who could go from extremely hyper one moment to infinitely serious the next, the second-maknae who was loved by all.
It could be Hoseok, the happy-go-lucky J-Hope, no one would suspect him, right? Not to mention he was the computer hacking expert in their group, if he wanted to he could easily hack into all of their phones and computers and get all of their details.
It could be Jungkook, although Yoona could probably rule out this as why would anyone want to help the person that tortured them and ruined their life?
It could be Jimin, the gentle and kind Jimin who no one would ever guess would have an ounce of evil in his body. That image could prove useful as he'd be - along with Hoseok and V - one of the last people that any of the members would suspect.
It could be Yoongi, who was kidnapped. Maybe it was fake, to throw off the suspicion? Maybe he'd 'escape' and come back, all to distract the probability of being a spy from himself.
Heck, Yoona thought, they might even think it was her. The boys had been together for much longer and built a bond between them that was supposed to be unbreakable. What if they thought Yoona must be the outsider?
She huffed in annoyance, before rolling over and clutching her pillow to her chest. After a few moments, and hopped off the bed and strolled along the landing, stopping at Namjoon's bedroom where the door was slightly ajar.
Hesitantly, she knocked on the door, and walked in after a faint 'come in.'
"Hey," She greeted, leaning against the wall. He got up from his seat and motioned for her to take the chair, which she only did after he sat on the bed.
"Are you alright?" It wasn't much of a question considering the situation but she had to ease into the conversation.
Namjoon sighed, scratching his neck.
"It's just hard, you know? When you've been as a group for several years only to find out now that there is someone who is betraying us," He mumbled, and Yoona nodded in understanding.
"I don't know what to do right now. Having a group meeting means the spy will be among us, and will definitely relay the information back to her. But how can I put a plan into action without getting everyone together?" He said frustratedly.
"I wish Yoongi was here...he's the one I used to talk to the most, he'd always know what to do. That's probably why he was the one who was taken." Namjoon sighed, playing with the hem of his T-shirt.
"In the beginning...I overhead you and Yoongi talking about me," Yoona whispered, and the boy's head shot up.
He thought for a few moments, and suddenly he nodded with recognition.
"Yeah...well after you picked that particular blade, we thought maybe you might be one of her accomplices. That's why we were quite careful around you in the beginning. But it doesn't seem that way now, unless you're an excellent actor," He chuckled dryly, and Yoona gave a half smile.
"It's not me," She whispered, and Namjoon looked at her. They shared a moment of silence before he replied.
"I know."
She smiled again, before Namjoon spoke.
"We don't have enough time; I'm worried for Yoongi hyung. Otherwise I would start working on ways to weasel out our spy," He commented.
"But right now, I think we're going to have to go straight on with my original plan, and just tread lightly around everyone."
She nodded. "And what's the original plan?"
"I'll explain tomorrow," He offered her a small smile, and she took this as her cue to leave. Bidding him goodnight, she left the room and returned to her own, jumping when she caught sight of someone on her bed.
"You scared me!" She laughed, hopping on the bed and snuggling up to the boy.
"Sorry," Jungkook chuckled, brushing her hair back.
"Where did you go?"
"Talking to Namjoon," She replied simply, and he nodded, not questioning any further.
"What's wrong?" She asked, sitting up properly. Jungkook sighed, shaking his head.
"It's just...I'm worried. I'm worried that they'll think it's me because...you know," He gestured with his hand vaguely, but she Yoona knew what he was getting at. He was worried that they'd assume that he was the one who was betraying them, because he'd spent a year with her.
"Hey," She whispered, cupping his face in her small hands.
"No one is going to, if they know you well enough. They know what you went through, what you suffered. You don't have to worry," She said soothingly, and he smiled gratefully.
"I love you," He whispered, pecking her lips.
"I love you too," She smiled.
He suddenly shifted, bringing out a small box from his pocket, and opening it. Yoona gasped.
"It's beautiful," She gently took the bracelet from the box, feeling it between her hands. Jungkook took it and slipped it into her wrist, giving her a shy smile.
It was a grey pearl bracelet, with a big silver heart in the centre. It was gorgeous, and Yoona could not take her eyes off it.
"Always wear it, okay?" He nuzzled her neck, and she giggled, mumbling a thank you into his soft hair.
Her gaze fell back on the pretty bracelet and she smiled, her finger tracing the pearls lovingly.
"Of course."
