Chapter 1

Traverse Road, Michigan
Two years ago

My body was moving side to side gently, lights flashing over my shut eyes, the dark world outside the car was silent and peaceful, a particular hard dip in the road waking me up.

My eyes flicker open, a groan slipping past my lips as I raise my head to look around, adjusting the thick seatbelt around my body, looking over to the black skinned girl with freckles and bright blue eyes, her thin face and gorgeous hourglass body rocking side to side like mine, her long, curly, hot pink hair strung back in a black scrunchie, Hell I was surprised that thing could keep her thick, curly locks back.

"Hey, (Y/N), glad you're awake." She said, her voice was like honey, sweet and smooth.

"Hey Denny...how- How much longer till we get there?" I asked, my eyes droopy as I stared at the seemingly endless stretch of road that was lined with thick pine trees.

"It shouldn't be much longer, Baby."  Denny said with a laugh, a scoff escaping my lips as I playfully smacked her shoulder.

"How many times have I told you to stop calling me that?" I asked with a laugh of my own, looking at the radio and smiling; my thin fingers reaching over and slowly turning the knob, switching through station before I settled on one, sinking into the seat.

It was quiet. Nothing. I wait for the music to come on, my eye brow raising as what seemed to whispering came through.

"What the fuck?" I question before leaning forward and switching to the next station.

I was silent when nothing came out, thinking nothing about it until a loud, Piercing, blood curdling scream blared out of it. I shut my eyes tightly as I brought my pale hands up to my ears, my fingers curling around them; the scream or static whatever it was hurting my ears.

The car began swerving across the road, Denny nearly losing control over the car before she slammed on the breaks, a screech coming from the tires breaking against the asphalt. Denny pulled her hands away from the wheel and covering her ears as soon as she could .

"Turn it off!" Denny yells, her eyes slammed shut, as we both got painful headaches.

I quickly scrambled and turned the radio off, holding my head as I turned to Denny, who looked like she just saw a ghost.

"Get your damn radio fixed!" I snap at her, Denny turning  to me as she began driving again.

"I will dammit!" Denny spat, My eyes rolling as I turned to the road, seeing the empty stretch, the grey asphalt road worn down. "It was working earlier..."

I was quiet before sighing, leaning over and hugging Denny, the tall dark girl returning the hug with a small laugh.

"I can't fucking stay mad at you and I hate it." I said with a laugh as I ran my hands through my hair, slumping back into my seat, and shutting my eyes, sighing softly.

"I have that affect on people, Baby." Denny said with a laugh a she rolled down the window a little.

It was quiet. I really liked it, calm and peaceful...beautiful: I could barley notice the time passing...the time coming close to 1:11 in the morning.
I was just so entranced, on the verge of Falling asleep though I couldn't, I couldn't even notice the car slowing down until Denny grabbed my shoulder.

"Um...(Y-Y/N)," She said softly, my eyes slowly opening as I turned my head towards her, a beyond confused look on my face.

Denny had wide eyes, the dark girl swallowing a heavy lump in her throat as she slowly pointed forward, my gaze turning to the front windshield when I saw a flicker of light, my eyes widening.

"What...what the fuck is that!?" I ask, the colour draining from my body.

This thing that was in front of us...it wasn't normal. It looked normal but it looked like it was melting, skin torn away from the mouth as if it had been fucking mauled, large teeth springing from it's mouth which made it look like an anglerfish.
It was lanky...pale... It's white glossy eyes staring into my soul. It...that thing! It seemed to flicker, blood falling down it's face; its feet digging into the ground, it's arms long, it's claws scrapping against the road, seeming to drool.

"Denny...please for the love of all things holy, tell me the doors are locked..." I say softly, beads of sweat forming and dripping down my face before I realized. "Denny... where did it go...?"

"I...I don't know...Just stay calm, (Y/N...)." Denny said softly, gulping as she slowly began rolling the windows up.

The Windows were about shut when I heard a loud crash, a large pain scraping across my shoulder, screaming from pain as I felt warm liquid seep through my clothes and down my right arm as tears built up as quickly as they fell.

I fearfully look over as see...THAT THING! Holy fuck was it hideous, god, I smelt so bad; like rotting, disgusting flesh. God, I'm gonna die, I'm never gonna see my Momma again, I won't see my Daddy. It was all happening so damn fast.

Denny's eyes had widened to the size of golfballs as she slammed on the gas, speeding down the road, that freak of nature screeching as it's claws were ripped from my shoulder. I was gripping onto my seatbelt for dear life, screaming as it scraped the car, tears running down my face as Denny turned sharply, my shoulder throbbing as my head hung.

Karmic Heartford university: Private institution of medical and psychological history
Traverse City, Michigan
Present Day

I woke up exhausted, my hair a mess as my alarm blared. I coughed a little as I sat up, my hands dragging down my face to my eyes, rubbing them gently.
I pulled my hands away from my face, my fingers carefully grabbing the neat grey comforter on top of what my friends would call a mountain of blankets, though I found them so comforting, just like my single ass was being held, they were all soft and thick.

I couldn't help but laugh at my self as I struggled to flip the covers over so I could get out; when I finally did I was breathing heavily, my hands pushing my hair out if my face.

"I need to workout." I said to myself with a small laugh, my feet pressing against the white, small, fur rug that was next to my bed to keep my feet warm instead of moving from my warm bed to the cold hardwood floor.

I look to the wall, curtains hanging over the window. The curtains let the sweet morning light bleed through, a soft sigh escaping my lips as I looked down at the ground, reaching my hand down under my bed and grabbing some white slippers.

I place them on my bed for a moment while I lift my feet up and wipe off any dirt or dust on my feet before finally grabbing the slippers and putting them on my feet, slowly standing up and locking my fingers together, arms straight as I brought them up above my bed and stretching.

I let my arms fall down before walking to my covered window and pulling the curtains to the side, the morning light hitting my face, my eyes squinting as I blinked, adjusting to the bright like before looking out.

I had to admit, going to a private university had it's nice qualities, and I had a damn good view. The sidewalks were lined with beautiful pine trees that were carefully shaped and watered, the grass was soft and a deep, healthy green, only to be complimented by flower beds that made themselves home between the trunks of the trees, shaped stone placed around them.

In the center of it all, there was a fountain, and damn was it fucking pretty, so pretty you could just watch it, forever. It was large and circular, multiple smaller pools lifted inside it with water spilling out, not a single break in the water. In the center, it was just so...elegant. Three glass bars circled in a spiral that went through three upside down, umbrella shaped pools that got small as it went to the top; water flowing out seamlessly as they overfilled into each other, it was all just so elegant. I loved this school.

I let out a sigh a looked up, only to quirk my eyebrow in confusion as I watched a black car drive through the parking lot that I hadn't seen before. Holy Shit was that a nice car.
It was sleek and clean, shining as I squinted my eyes to get a look at the driver of that beauty, but I just couldn't get a glimpse.

"Damn..." I said softly as I reluctantly walked away from my window, my head turning to the dresser tucked into the corner of my room.

I grasp the handle of the middle drawer to my dresser when was made out of a light tan wood, I didn't know what kind it was.

I pull open the drawer quietly and pulled out some black jeans, tossing them onto my bed before shutting the drawer and opening the one on top of the previous drawer and rummaging through till I grabbed a a white loose tank top, setting it next to my jeans before grabbing some socks.

I sighed as I shut the drawer, humming a I walked over to my door, grabbing black leather boots that went up about an inch past my ankle, a slight heel on them as I dorkily danced my way to my desk, turning on my radio which began playing the music on the disk I had in it.

I couldn't help but laugh a myself as I danced my way to my bed, bouncing my head side to side as I swayed my hips while undressing myself, tossing the dirty sleepwear aside before I dressed myself, pulling the loose tank top over my head, the loose fabric swaying as I shuffle into my high waisted jeans, slipping my socks and shoes on.

I turn the volume up on the radio before leaving my room and heading to the bathroom, smiling widely.

"Another day, another test I shall fail." I said with a laugh, the radio blasting music making it easy to be heard,.

Igrabbed my hair brushing, running it through my     (H/L), (H/C) hair, my lips puckering as I set the brush down,
Swiftly grabbing my tooth brush and turning the faucet on, running the bristles under the cold water.

I set the tooth brush down and grabbed the mint flavoured toothpaste tucked away in the corner, unscrewing the cap to the top before flicking it off.

I hold it in my left hand so I could grab my toothbrush with my right, taking the nozzle of the toothpaste tube and lining it up, squeezing the minty paste on the brush before setting it down, taking my brush and running it under the water yet again.

I stick the brush in my mouth and turned the water off whole moving the brush side along my straight teeth, grinning even wider when I heard the next song, happily mouthing along to the song.

"Baby grind on me~" I sang along with a small laugh, rolling my eyes at my own stupidity, spitting out the bubbles in my mouth caused by the paste, humming as I brushed my tongue before spiting into the sink and rinsing my brush before walking out, flicking the lights off.

I walk back to my room with a pep in my step, grabbing a blue baggy adult males flannel and slipping it on my shoulders. I grab my black heavy back-pack and slippied it on my shoulders before grabbing my white trapper- keeper.

I turned my music off and grabbed a white lanyard and put it around my neck as I walked out to the front door, grabbing my mp3 player and headphones, immediately plugging the headphones in and tucking them in my ears, my mp3 player tucked into my pocket before leaving and locking my dorm, walking down the vintage, Victorian hallway.

I walked down the staircase to the first floor, in total walking down three flights of stairs, exiting the building with a smile as I rolled my sleeves up, my wondering to that damn nice car, my curiosity being peaked, kind of just wondering what kind it was, I kinda wanted to get one when I graduate now.

I walked down the cement sidewalks while pulling out my phone, flipping it up and getting the camera ready so I could get a picture of the type of car, shadows casting over the walkway from the trees, the smell of pine filling my nose as I hurried to the lot, immediately walking to the car.

"Damn." I mumble, look at the front and crouching down, seeing 'Chevleret'.

I smiled as I took a picture. I didn't exactly know cars, I couldn't even point out a Camero without staring for a moment, hell, I was pretty sure this was on of those new sleek ass camero's, so just to be sure I walked around it before I found the word 'Impala', immediately taking picture; unaware of the two set of eyes on me.

I took one more look at the empty car, standing there and  just letting out a sigh, staring in awe as I tucked my phone away, raking my hand through my hair.

  "Can I help you?"

I rose an eyebrow, taking my hands and removing my earbuds, turning around, my eyes settling on a adult male who had his hands tucked in to the pockets of some grey jeans, a grey T-shirt hanging over a belt.

He has one a red flannel barley visible over a dark grey denim jacket, a necklace hanging from his neck.
His hair was short and stuck up, his face slightly Square which went along with his medium body build, my (E/C) eyes meeting his vibrant green ones.

"Oh no, I was just looking, its a nice ass car," I say with a laugh, the man chuckle as he nodded, walking over and leaning against the hood, his arms crossed. "I assume it's yours."

"You'd be damn right she is, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala," He said, My eyes noticing the slight stumble along his face as I nodded. "You go here?"

"No, I'm just the local drug addict passing through." I say sarcastically, earning a laugh from the man. "What about you? You new here?"

"Yeah, My and my little brother." He answered, nodding my head in response.

"What courses are you taking," I ask, brushing some of my hair behind my ear as I shifted my weight to the left side it my body. "I'm majoring in both Psychology and medicine, surgery, you know, the usual doctor shit."

"Um... I'm majoring in Psychology. " He answered, taking his hands and stuffing them in his coat pockets, a new mnfaint smiling curling onto his lips. "The names Dean by the way. "

"Nice to meet you Dean, I'm (Y/N)," I say in response, adjusting the sleeves of my own flannel. "So, what classes do you have, we might have the Same psychology class."

I rose an eye brow when his lips pressed, his eyes widening a little, looking as if I had just asked him a
Einstein couldn't answer.

"Um...you okay Dean?" I ask, my lips pushing to the left side of my face, Dean nodding.

"Yeah, I'm fine, it's just me and my brother don't have our schedules yet so, I don't exactly know." He answered with a shrug, his pressed lips spreading to a smile.

"Ah, I see," I say with a small laugh. "Well, I can show you and your brother to the Councerlers' office if ya want, won't be any trouble."

"That's fine, we can handle it." A masculine voice said, my head turning to the side, a tall, shaggy haired brunette walking our way.

Unlike Dean, he had a rather clean look, his brown puppy dog eyes looking like pools of golden honey from the sun. His face was slim and narrow with broad shoulders.

He wore slightly similar clothes to Dean, except at the moment he was wearing a blue button up shirt with a tan jacket over it, the really only dirty or unkept thing about him was his slightly muddy jeans and shoes, his hair looking a little greasy, bangs ending just under his eyebrows.

"Damnit..." Dean mumbled annoyed, rolling his eyes. "(Y/N) this is my brother Sam." he said, my expression turning to a bit of shock.

"He's your little brother? He's a fucking moose." I say with a laugh, Sam laughing a little to be polite as he shrugged.

"Yeah, me and him are both in psychology." Dean said, Sam sighing a he looked at Dean with an unimpressed look, cocking a brow.

"Nice," I say with a small laugh, sighing a little. "Well, I'm gonna head to class, I'll catch you around." I say before slipping my headphones into my ear and un pausing my music, walking away while adjusting my backpack.
