Save Points

Sans walked down the stairs, deciding he had enough shortcuts and should actually walk sometimes. Speed-walking to catch up to his brother, Sans walked alongside a very happy Papyrus instead of teleporting like normal. Things would be different. He knew it.

Looking around, he noticed something that wasn't there before. That same star-like object that now was engraved on his head. A save point. "One sec, I'll catch up to ya soon Pap!" Sans called to his brother before walking over to the save point. He was greeted by several monsters, throwing a few puns around. He liked making them laugh. Finally he reached the save point, reaching out to touch it.

*The cheery laughter of your friends fills you with DETERMINATION.* He knew he had to protect them. Looking up, he saw the same options as before. This time, he clicked SAVE. He smiled before walking away. Catching up once again to his brother, he quickly approached the sentry station. He frowned (as much as he could).

"Hey Pap, could I help you with your puzzles today? I'd like to spend some more time with you."

"Why of course Sans!" Papyrus exclaimed, excited. "Wowie! You never ask to help me with my puzzles! Follow me!"

Sans laughed slightly as he watched his bro march off, following close behind. Anything to avoid the human. Maybe he could even keep Papyrus occupied enough to miss the human entirely! Walking through the snow, he felt determined as he considered all his new possible options.

"Where are the save points?!" Frisk cried, annoyed. Somehow the world had managed to reset on their own, and now all the save points seem to have disappeared. They felt less determined, but they still went on with the genocide route. They had practiced enough anyway, there wouldn't be a problem.

It was also odd that they hadn't heard from Chara since the reset. She had been silent the entire time, almost as if she wasn't there.

Flowey didn't show up either. The coward. Must have been too afraid. Frisk sighed, following Toriel toward the exit of the ruins. She had been through this already, it was all the same. She just wanted to get to Sans and see if anything changed.

She listened to Toriel speak absentmindedly. Same old, same old. She didn't really care. Then when Toriel was done speaking, she attacked. It was easy. Toriel said the same things she always did before turning to dust. Nothing new, nothing interesting. Finally, Frisk pushed open the doors and walked out into the snow. She stepped over the branch and continued on, expecting it to snap as it always had.

It didn't.

Frisk arrived at the bridge with the bars that were too wide to keep anyone out. She patiently waited for the sound of walking. For the "turn around, and shake my hand." But it never came. Odd. Frisk waiting for a few minutes before giving up and walking ahead. Well, something was different, but that was incredibly anti-climactic. Frisk wanted something interesting. But it just seemed that everyone who knew anything was avoiding her. Oh well.

Time to say hello to Papyrus.
