Diamond was 16. When you're 16, nothing strange could ever happen. Well, that's what most people believe. But in the floating islands of aura, you might have a very different opinion.

Diamond opened her eyes. Mother was calling. It was time. "Coming mother!" she called.

Diamond un-folded her wings and swooped down the ravine. "Diamond! There you are." said mother. "I was starting to wonder if you would ever arrive. Come, we must get your scales polished. You will be meeting your betrothed today." Diamond groaned internally. Her betrothed. She couldn't see why her mother wanted her to marry the prince of the Brealon kingdom. Her mother never asked what she wanted, and what she wanted was to find her own true love. She sometimes wished she was not the princess of the Zifourian Empire. She sometimes daydreamed of running away.

"Okay Diamond come on." Diamond got up and looked at her scales. They were as shiny as glass. Her scales were a mix of blue and white. They faded from one color to the other and were diamond-shaped.

"Okay Diamond. We need to get there quickly." mother said. It starts in a few hours."

"Now Diamond, We still need to put your jewelry on you." her mother was distracted looking for the jewels at the moment. This was her chance. She was just about to fly away when her mother came back with the jewelry.

Diamond sighed. She hoped she could have at least flown to the next island before her mother caught her.

"Come on!" yelled her mother

"Coming!" she yelled back.

She reluctantly started flying after her mother. Now. now was her chance. Her mother was babbling on about how handsome the prince would be when they saw him. Carefully, making sure she could not hear diamond's wing beats, she flew the other way. After she had flown for a while, she looked back. She could still see a faint outline of her mother winging away. She smiled. Good. Now by the time her mother looked back, she would not see anything.

Oof, she thought. She had not worked out a hiding spot. She could not stay here and hover forever. Even dragons needed to rest, and there were no floating islands in sight. But then, something caught her eye. It looked like there was a very small island beside the sky wall. as she looked out at the sky wall, she thought of one warning her mother had given her. "You must never go near the sky wall. Inside it is the most terrible storm that has ever raged. No one has gotten through it alive and has come back to tell the tale." Diamond shivered. She knew that none would go that close to the sky wall. ...HMMMM.... She thought very hard for another way. But it looked like it was the only option. Just then she heard her stomach rumble.

Oof, she thought again. I did not eat this morning.

She started to fly towards the tiny island, hoping there was something to eat there.

Thankfully, the island, for being so close to the sky wall, had lots of vegetation. Well, she thought. At least it's better than nothing. As she walked around the island looking for fruit when something barreled into her. She let out an

"Oof" but then whatever had attacked her, or should she say who. Got off her. She lifted her head and gazed into aquamarine eyes.

"Why did you attack me?" Diamond demanded.

"You are trespassing on my home!" he growled back

"I didn't know! I was just flying there hungry and saw this island so I figured why not go find some fruit?"

"Sorry," he said. "It is just I do not usually get dragons flying over here."

"no, I am sorry. By the way, name's Diamond."

"I'm crimson."

As she looked at his green scales She snorted. "Your name is crimson? Your parents must have been mean parents to name you that." She said, pointing to his scales.

He glared at her. "Wait...." He said. "You said your name is diamond? Oof! you're the princess of the Zifourian Empire!"
