➸ Chapter 14
Wondering what on earth was going in this weird forest, Shelly resumed her honest quest of leaving the lands forever.
She walked some more, and when hunger gained to a peak she saw a rather smallish sized cottage. But this one looked different from the previous one; the new cottage looked more modern and sophisticated.
The cottage was tiny, made of metal and wood, shaped more like an inverted bucket. Upon entering, she noticed that the roof almost touched her head and the ceiling fan acted like a chainsaw ready to chop her head off the neck. Wondering what sort of creatures would live in such a place like this, she tried walking around the house, hunting for anything close to coffee or food.
Trying hard not to hit her head on the doorways, she finally reached the dining hall.
The hall was spacious with a high ceiling and looked more like a pirate's hideout, except that instead of gold, it was brownies.
In one corner of the room was piled a majestic collection of these delicious brownies, carefully wrapped and sealed in see through plastic covers; and in the other corner there were jelly boxes and cakes made of orange. The center of the room was decorated with a wooden table and there were five little chairs around it.
Not bad, thought Shelly as she grabbed a few brownies, cakes and jelly boxes; and off she started munching them whilst comfortably seated on a table. She had this perfect diet plan that she was following to get a flat tummy that she forgot about when she surrendered to the charms of the delicious food.
Shelly still couldn't figure out who made these little snack packages, but she pictured in her mind a folk of dwarves (who were horrible chefs by the way, no offence Halthor) and expected them to be busy digging for gold in their deep mines.
And by the way, Halthor is a dwarf friend of mine who squashes meat with his hammer and fries them so as to physically resemble a patty (or in some ways a cutlet) but it tastes deliciously horrible!
Once her hunger was met with she quenched her thirst with some banana milk shake and off she went in search of someplace to rest for a while. The adventure in the woods and all those fights had made her dead tired.
The bedroom was rather spacious and there were five little beds; beds too small that she couldn't fit in even if she folded herself into half.
So Shelly Sangsteiner dragged them all into a row and laid horizontally across the beds. 'Ten minutes,' she thought,'Ten minutes of rest and I will leave this strange little place to find a shelter in the country across the woods.'
But as she was wondering how she would find a new home and a new job in the Darklands across the woods, she fell into a deep sleep; and there did she sleep for ten hours straight!
