"You ate all of the waffles, Amara. It's only been two weeks since you came home!" Sinta exclaimed as Amara sat at the table with her laptop, notepad, pencil, and her bowl of fruit loops. The eighteen-year-old slowly chewed on her cereal and placed her spoon back into the bowl.

Her eyes shot over to Charlie, who quickly looked at his newspaper and quietly sipped on his black coffee. Amara's eyes narrowed at her father as she swallowed her fruit loops.

"Traitor," she whispered under her breath. Sinta blew out a deep breath as she pushed the small pieces of hair that fell out of her bun behind her ears.

"Look, I have to open the office today, and I don't have time to stop at the store, so you and your dad are going, and you're going to buy more waffles and everything on this list. Oh, and make sure to use the produce basket that is in the cabinet next to the sink. "

     "Wait, what?"

     "Mom!"

"Don't what or mom me! I'll fix my hair when I get to the shop, and now, I'll be taking that as my leave." Sinta finished as she put on her jacket and grabbed her car keys. Blowing a kiss to Charlie and Amara, Sinta shut the door behind her.

"You did this! You shouldn't have joined me in eating the waffles!" Amara sneered at Charlie as he looked up from his newspaper again with an exasperated look.

     "I was simply snacking."

"Snacking?! You ate a whole package of them!"

     "Exactly, snacking."

"This is ridiculous! Come on, let's get this over with," Charlie sighed as he put his newspaper down beside him and his coffee on the table, walking over to Amara as she began to put her sneakers on, the list in her hand.

     "You're not going to change?"

"No, I'm just gonna go back to bed when we get back." Amara kneeled in front of the sink and opened the cabinet, grabbing the produce basket.

     "Alright, let's get going."

Amara opened the door and held it open for Charlie as he shut it behind him and unlocked the car. Amara jogged down the steps and to the passenger side. Opening the car door, Amara sat down and closed it behind her, getting comfortable in the cushioned seat before turning and buckling her seatbelt. Charlie chuckled as he walked down the stairs and to the car. He opened the door and sat in the driver's seat, shutting the door behind him and putting the key in the ignition.

The car started with a rumble. Charlie turned and buckled his seatbelt, a deep sigh leaving his mouth, his chest falling with ease, turning to his daughter, "I really didn't feel like dealing with people today, but we can't always get what we want."

"Tell me about it, like, what even is this? Are you sure we can't stay home and tell mom an excuse?"

"Are you out of your mind, kid? Your mother would grill both of us. Besides, we did eat all of the waffles meaning that she didn't get any, so this would only make her life easier, and we can buy even more waffles than what we had before."

"I like the way you think, daddio." Charlie laughed once again, turning on the radio, an unknown tune playing.

"You are something else, kid," Charlie shook his head as he backed out of the driveway and made his way down the road. The trees blurred past as the cruiser sped down the road. Amara rolled down the window; the light rain that fell from the sky before the two left the house stopped, and the fresh smell of bark and leaves made the girl sigh with nostalgia.

The girl placed her arm out the window, the feeling of the window gliding through her fingers, making them feel soft. The stray pieces of hair that fell from her low ponytail moved with the wind, gliding them from her face.

"So, have you figured anything out for your bakery?"

"No, it's a lot right now. There is so much that I have to do," Amara sighs as she looks over at Charlie.

"Just take it one step at a time, figure out the details and then make the bigger business moves after."

"I know, but the details are the most important part. I need everything to be perfect. Well, maybe not perfect, but I want everything to come from all of me if that makes sense."

"It makes sense, but just know me and your mother will be there to help you even if you are too stubborn to take it."

     Amara chuckled, "Thanks, dad."

"No problem. Let's go get this done," Charlie spoke as she turned off the car and unbuckled his seatbelt. Amara nodded in agreement, unbuckling her seatbelt and exiting the cruiser. The girl shut the door behind her. The girl handed Charlie the wooden basket, and he grabbed it from her as she started to walk away.

"Let me grab a cart," Amara walked towards the shopping cart return area. Pulling the cart from the others, Amara rolled it towards Charlie, who was waiting by the door. The duo walked into the store, confronted by a bustling store, people laughing and talking with each other, the sound of the shopping cart's wheels hurting Amara's ears as they squeaked loudly.

"Ooo, do you think we could get the stuff to make chicken nuggets?"

"Now, I like the way you think."

"We need about every fruit and vegetable that the store can offer." Charlie and Amara began to make their way to the produce section.

The two began to examine the vegetables and fruit, double-checking that each piece of produce was good and would last them for a bit. The girl placed each piece of fruit and vegetable into the basket and set the pre-packaged things beside it. Moving to the frozen foods, Amara and Charlie only came to this section to see what they could sneak, but they were out of luck, not able to find any waffles.

"There isn't much on the list, so the rest of the shopping should be easy," Amara explained as she placed bread crumbs into the cart. Moving along the aisle, she grabbed flour, sugar, baking soda, and powder, powdered and brown sugar, and cornstarch into the cart.

"Yeah, this is not a lot at all," Charlie pressed his lips together, looking at the countless items that Amara placed in the shopping cart.

Amara scrunched her nose, "This isn't a lot! It's just the basics! Come, we have to go to the dairy, and if we go this way, I can grab a few things on the list."

The father-daughter duo made their way to the dairy, quickly grabbing jars of different flavored jelly's, lemon and lime juice, yeast, and peanut butter. Maneuvering their way through the people, Amara scanned over the dairy section. She grabbed the eggs, milk and a variety of cheeses.

"Do you want to go to the meat section, and I'll see if they have the flowers mom wants?"

"Meat is the last thing on our list, right?"

"Yep! Just make sure to stick to the list. You tend to go overboard with the steak."

"I have gotten better at that, don't worry, I have learned my lesson from bad stomach pains."

The girl laughed and handed Charlie the list, then walked off to the flower section of the store. Sliding past people, muttering soft apologies to those she bumped into accidentally. Turning the corner, the eighteen-year-old spotted the display of flowers. The arrangements of daisies, hibiscus, tulips, lilies, orchids, and others that the girl wasn't sure she knew the names of.

Slowly walking through and around the display, a small bundle of daisies made Amara smile. The girl picked the arrangement up, bringing the bunch of flowers to her nose. The girl inhaled softly. Sinta loved daisies, but they never seemed to be at the stores or small flower shops scattered across Forks and La Push. The girl continued to look around the flower displays, the daisy bunch in her left hand, her right hand trailing along the bottom of each flower name display.

Amara stopped at the roses. She admired the single rose in front of her. The brunette wouldn't typically go for roses, they just never were her favorite, but this rose was beautiful. A light white color sat at the base that blended in with a pink that outlined the red at the very top. Amara picked the rose up from the top of the stem, being careful so that she didn't prick herself on the thorns. Twirling the flower between her fingers, the brown-eyed girl began searching for a price for the roses, but she couldn't find a price.

Walking over to the daisy display, she couldn't find a price on those either. Searching through the flower section, Amara spotted an older woman with shoulder-length hair sitting in a chair with a book in her hand.

"Hi, how much are these? They don't have a price on them or on the display."

The woman looked up from her book, locking eyes with the teenager, a soft smile on her face, "The daisies and roses are free, dear."

"Really?" Amara's eyebrows rose in confusion.

"Yes, these are my flowers from my flower shop."

"Where is your flower shop, if you don't mind me asking."

"Right here in Forks, it's pretty close to the grocery store."

"I might just have to come by. I think my mom will love your shop if you always have daisies!"

The woman laughed, wrinkles at the corner of her eyes; a joyous glint glazed her eyes as light dimples appeared by the sides of her mouth, "Well, I would be glad to have some more customers, seeing as I just opened not too long ago! So, I sell these here to get some exposure!"

"That's amazing! Have you always been interested in selling flowers?"

"Always, and after so many years of wanting to sell flowers, a shop opened up after the person who had run it retired, and I took my chance."

"Well, I am happy to hear you were able to have your flower shop!"

"Thank you, dear. Do you have any aspirations that you want to follow?"

The teenager nodded her head, but, from her peripheral vision, she saw her father round the corner. Turning her head, she saw Charlie standing there.

"I think we may have to cut this conversation short, my dad-"

The woman shook her head as she followed Amara's vision, "Oh, don't worry, dear! It was nice to talk to you!"

"It was very nice to talk to you as well, um, I'm sorry, I never asked for your name! What's your name, ma'am?"

     "My name is Odina, dear!"

"It was very nice to meet you, Odina! Hopefully, I will see you soon at your shop!" Amaris beamed as she began to jog away from Odina and towards Charlie, who had a smile on his face.

"And I thought you said that you didn't like people?" Charlie questioned as Amara made it up to him.

Amara shook her head softly, "Well, there is an exception for some people."

"Come on, let's go pay. I want to go make some waffles when I get home, seeing as they didn't have any here!" Amara rolled her eyes with a pout on her face.

"I thought you were going back to sleep when you got home?"

"That was before when I thought they were going to have waffles, so when I woke up, I could have some, but they don't, so I'm going to make my own! Oh, and that reminds me, when is Bella coming home from her sleepover with Alice?"

"She is supposed to be home tomorrow, but she may stay one more night with her boyfriend, Edward," Charlie groaned out as he rolled his eyes as the two stood in line for checkout.

"Dad, let her live a little!"

"I think she's lived enough with this guy."

Amara laughed as she leaned her head on Charlie's shoulder, "The waffles are going to be good."

     "Yes, they are."
