Chapter Ten

The walk back to my house took longer than I thought it would. I was sopping wet and to my disappointment, my legs were still throbbing and shaky from, well whatever happened back there.

I was still completely confused and felt sick from injecting so much salt water while trapped under the pounding force of the waves my stomach twisted and churned and was threatening to let my food visit the world again, in a very unpleasant way.

My head was pounding so bad my eyesight was blurry and I could barley see ten feet in front of me. I was pretty sure I was swaying back in forth stumbling along the side walk.

I couldn't go on and slumped onto the ground clutching my head and cradling my stomach moaning and groaning. My vision that previously was fading in and out completely diminished leaving nothing but blackness around me.

Tingling enveloped my entire body moving from my feet to my head and traveled back down again then stopped abruptly allowing me to see again.

"My God what the hell was that?" I mumbled trying to get back my bearings back. Rubbing my aching head trying to massage the pain away.

Hunched over I did loose my lunch, and believe me it was painful and very unpleasant. After I finished emptying my stomach's contents I laid back onto the cool ground and tried to catch my breath.

'I wonder what my parents and brothers are doing? It's been a while and nobody had come to look for me yet. But the way I left I doubt anyone will care where I am anymore. I probably shouldn't even go back, I'm not normal.'

I hadn't realized I was crying until I felt the salty tears slide down my face. God I was so stupid, why was I crying? Why did I let my mother get to me, I knew everything she said to me was meant to be hurtful and hateful. But I let it get to me anyway. Stupid stupid stupid me I really needed to learn.

"Hey you okay" A soft voice gently asked me.

I jerked upwards toward the sound and met the bluest eyes I had ever seen. So blue they put the clear Caribbean Sea to shame.

"Uhh, yeah sure. I'm fine thanks." And quickly wiped all traces of the tears from my face.

"Are you sure?" He said as he kneels down beside me looking into my eyes. "Your drenched," he whispered noticing my sopping wet clothes and salt crusted hair.

"Were you in the ocean just now?" He asked me.

"Yeah late night swim." I nonchalantly replied shrugging.

"Why?" I asked suspiciously not understanding why he was asking.

He gazed into my eyes I guess trying to read into my soul to see if I was lying then his gaze when lower, to my chest. "Where did you get that?" He asked pointing to my necklace.
