Chapter 25
Devon Point of View
I have been working on the important task illaria had trusted me with for several hours now. To put in the categories of pass or fail is a little difficult because it's somewhere in the middle and the chances are 50-50.
I glanced at Ural who is yawning as loudly as an elephant but still kept typing on his keyboard. There are four monitor screens before him, one has codes running, one has a several windows popped up, the third has another set of codes running while the four has a dashboard of our own personal software opened with a list of notifications displayed on it.
I can tell what is running in Illaria's mind to do something like this. Although, her decision on this issue is a risky one but it's a needed evil to solve something big.
I glanced at the satellite view of the globe with changing climatic situations real-time. The camping grounds that Illaria and her company staff is in right now is shrouded with terrible weather conditions which will eventually lead to something big and disastrous.
"Devon, bud, I think controlling this current situation will be no less than a miracle. I did not think Ms. Allard would be so brave to do something like this." Ural spoke while yawning loudly.
There are black bags hanging below his eyes showing how tired and sleep deprived he is. Just a night of work and no sleep shouldn't be too much for anyone. However, Ural is a sleep lover. He just loves to take short and long naps whenever he has free time or bored out of his butts.
Just a night of staying awake has taken a great toll on him. I'm still fine, feeling energetic and not very tired.
"Could you track down the source location?" I asked, agreeing silently to his statement about Illaria's braveness.
"Not yet. There are so many dead-end loops here. This is just endless, my God! Whoever made this whole program is such a devil!" He continued to type away, changing the perspective of the codes every now and then as he tried different ways to get to the source of this chaos.
"Aya, look who texted back!" Ural scrolled through his phone and read a couple of cyphered messages. "Guess what, I just a text back from one of the people I contacted earlier and according to him, there was a manipulated climatic disaster in a small desert in the fast east. Supposedly, it was a test trial but the desert was rattled upside down by the test which caused the villages and towns that are by the border of the desert to be buried under sandstorms."
"Causalities? Source and clues?" I asked as I pulled out my phone and looked into my mailbox. There was indeed an official email sent to me by them just a while ago explaining about several of these test trial taking place around the world at random places.
"People are severely hurt but there is no mortality news for now thankfully. Source or clues of the sources are not found. When they tried to find them, they encountered the exact same problem as me, there are endless loops with dead-ends."
This is all such a mess!
These people have no regard for human life or the environment of the planet. So many lives are being jeopardized and they just don't care. They only care about their fame, success, power and wealth.
Although we and everyone know this is the work of SkyGod, without any solid evidence, we cannot take legal action on them.
One of the reasons I agreed to help Illaria is because I am repulsed by these inhumane people and felt a strong desire to destroyed them.
Also because Illaria is –
Ah no! Nevermind!
'Devon hi,' Just when I was distracted by a simple thought of someone, I got a message from her.
'Hi, is everything alright there? Is there any progress in the plan?'
'Everything is still manageable here. I just want to know, are the people from government working on it?'
'Yes. However, from the latest news I got, they were only able to catch some small fries of that evil organization. The identity of the higher authorities is still well protected by their computer genius. We are trying to track them down but the programs only lead to infinite loops with dead ends.'
I informed her truthfully so that she can make plans and decision accordingly. Right now, she is in a dangerous situation and any small or minute information could be useful for her.
'Thank you. I owe you this one.'
'No problem. Don't overthink about it. However, why did you approach me to help you with intercepting the SkyGod and manipulate the weather secretly? Wasn't your business partner Uno Mayhem the best candidate for the task?'
'I cannot put all my hope on one channel. Also, we are right now on a mountain range with a terrible climate, the internet connection might take a hit so with you helping on the sidelines is for the best. Anyways, can I also ask you for one more favor?'
'Um hmm.'
'I will share a contact number with you, can you please get the call and contact details of this person? It would be great if we could get hold of the details of his private number, if any.'
'No problem. I get on it right away.'
After ending the conversation with her, in half a minute, I received the contact number of the person she wanted to investigate.
Without a delay, I and Ural got to work and no sooner we got the results. After checking the whole history of that person, we couldn't see anything wrong with him.
His records are clean. He does have a private number but it's usually used for family only. Nothing about this person is bad or suspicious.
"Now this is suspicious." I mumbled as I looked through every detail again and again.
"Isn't it? I've never seen a person with such clean records. For a person of such position, power and caliber to have such a clean record, this is indeed the most suspicious part." Ural commented.
I know why Illaria has a suspicion on this man. No wonder she said that her instincts tells her that this man is not the way he is.
I and Ural tried to filter out all the fake information and segregate it accordingly however, something which both unexpected yet expected happened.
This man's authentic information is well protected the same way the source of the disaster manipulator is.
In short, anymore digging about this person is leading to loops and dead-ends just like before.
What a headache!
How was this organization able to get a person of such high caliber work for the evil? If my guess is not wrong, then this is not just one computer geek but a bunch of geniuses working together for SkyGod.
What perplexed Ural and me was, how was SkyGod able to get them to work for them in the first place?
I know that people will bow down in the might of others power and self-greed. But to find so many with the same mindset to work for them; they should've been planning for all this from a very long time.
I taped my fingers on the table thoughtfully and after thinking and analyzing everything for more than half an hour, I looked at Ural, "Say, for any one who is into programming and hacking, they have to have a solid software and programming languages, yes. If these people are using unlicensed private ones, we could still find a thread to it from frontend if not from the backend."
Ural looked thoughtful for a moment and then his eyes brightened like a luminous light ready to spread its light to the whole planet.
"You are a genius. Why didn't think of this. Why fight on the battlefield head on if I could find a thread, follow the link and setup and ambush?" That's right.
Just a small link, one weak link will be enough to get through to them.
For the whole day, we continued to work, having only bites of food every now and then to keep up with the energy.
It always seemed like we are very close to the solution but the next second, everything goes back to square one. The whole day of this back-and-forth quibble gave us one realization.
This will not be cleared and achieved in a single day. This has to be worked on for a bit of time.
I immediately texted the results and conclusion to Illaria and asked to act accordingly. We realized that although the person Illaria suspects is a part of SkyGod organization, for the sake of catching all the fishes in one big net and also to give ourselves some time to figure out everything, I asked Illaria to abort the current plan and get back home with her staff once the could find a way to travel safely.
I sent a couple of confidential files to my team and my superior regarding the case and made few changes before sending them to Illaria as well.
"Buzz, pull back everything. We should stop this here."

What do you think about the chapter? Good?
Finally Devon's pov is back!
So, Devon is helping Illaria with SkyGod issues.
Wait, why did Devon call for Buzz? Is this the same Buzz we know of?
