Estelle
My first instinct was to throw the mirror, so that's what I did. Second instinct was to back into a corner, so I did.
There's running footsteps into the room, then the familiar Australian accent calls. "Estelle?!"
I cover myself as best I can.
"Estelle?" He asks, this time his voice light.
I move as far as I can into the corner.
I feel a large palm on my back.
My mind reels over what my new face reminds me of; it reminds me of bruises across my cheeks from my father's harsh ways, it reminds me of old Maverick, that cared about me, it reminds me of South-side, where my picture got leaked onto the web, but mostly, it reminds me of pain.
This is why the heaving, labored, breaths rack through my body at a fast pace, bringing tears to my eyes.
"Estelle." Leeciy hums in a soft voice. "You're safe, it's okay."
I feel myself subconsciously lean into his touch until he has his arms around me.
"Breathe with me." He orders, before doing a few breathing exercises that I easily follow.
After my whole ordeal, I sit limply in Leeciy's arms, looking at the shattered mirror.
Leeciy was talking quietly to Cirus, who was asking a few questions.
It doesn't take long for us to be joined by Lexon, who tsks at my outburst.
"Not the response I wanted." He says, before tapping Leeciy on the shoulder. "Let me see her."
Leeciy nods, looking down at me. "Can you stand?"
I answer by standing, looking Lexon in the eyes.
"You look perfect." Lexon grins. "They'll never see it coming."
I blink a few times, before looking down at the tile.
"Leeciy, will you take her home?" Lexon asks, quirking his head.
"I planned on it." Leeciy nods, ushering Cirus to his side.
We walk to the car, silently.
Cirus was very chatty, but I could only focus on the buildings, passing by us quickly as Leeciy drove.
It didn't take long to arrive at my apartment building.
I got out of the car, walking quickly into the building, nodding at the doorman before disappearing into my apartment.

Leeciy
I watch as she disappears, before looking back at Cirus.
"Can we get ice cream?"
I smile, then nod. "Of course."
She squeals as I put the car into drive and start towards the shopping district.
***
The district was crowded like usual, so Cirus took the last three fingers on my right hand.
She wasn't acting strange, just waving at the patrons like usual, bouncing every once in a while.
"Let's go there!" She shouts, pointing at a store.
I smile and lead her over, walking into the ice creamery, her eyes lit up like lights.
She reads the menu aloud, slowly. "Ch-oc-o-late." She grins. "Chocolate!"
I grin, patting her head. "Good job."
"I want the green stuff." She informs. "With the chocolate in it."
I nod. "What should I get?"
"A sundae?" She suggests.
"That sounds good." I nod, stepping into the short line.
We order then sit at a window table.
"Today at school, we learned about Pangaean history." Cirus says, her face covered in ice cream. "I paid attention because they kept saying your name, I thought that was cool."
I turn my head. "What was in there?"
"You were a baby, they showed a rough sketch, they got your nose wrong." She rambles. "Besides that, at recess, I accidentally made a kid cry."
"What'd you do?"
"I accidentally brought up a nightmare he had." She shrugs. "He deserved it, he kept stealing toys."
I shake my head, hiding a smile. "You shouldn't use your Oura konnes on people like that."
"I know, that's what Miss Teacher said." She huffs. "Nobody understands me there, well, not like you do."
"They'll understand someday," I assure.
"Do you love me?" She asks.
I nod. "I love you a lot, kiddo."
"I love you, too." She grins, licking the cone of her ice cream, protecting her hand from a drip that fell.
"Do you have any homework?" I ask.
"I did it at school, it was easy stuff." She hums. "Do you have any warm-ups you gotta do?"
I shake my head. "I'm free."
"Me too." She asks. "Can we play dolls at home?"
"Of course." I grin. "Do you wanna get something in the district before we leave?"
She shakes her head. "Unless you'll get me candy."
"No candy till Friday." I remind. "What day is it today?"
"Friday?" She asks.
"It's Tuesday." I grin. "Do you want anything for dinner."
"Mac N' Cheese!" She shouts, grinning.
I hush her. "Okay, okay."
Cirus cheers, finishing up her ice cream.
I finish mine, throwing my dish into the trash can near our seats, before returning back.
"Wanna people watch for a bit?" I ask, sinking back into my chair.
She nods, her eyes already locked on people outside the window.
I copy her, watching the people walk by, occasionally finding a few people dancing or singing with joy, but that makes me grin.
"Papa?" Cirus asks.
I look over at her. "Yeah?"
"When are you gonna get married to Estelle?" She asks. "Everybody at school makes fun of me for not having a mom, it annoys me."
"They do?" I ask.
"It's not just that, I want a mom, and Estelle fits the role perfectly." She shrugs. "I want someone to talk to about my girl problems."
"Getting married takes a long time in a relationship."
"Well, how long have you two known each other?" She asks. "You're not gonna take four years to get engaged, you two aren't really like that."
I shrug, looking at the table. "It's complicated, you wouldn't really understand."
She scoffs. "Whatever, can we go home now?"
I nod, leading her through the crowd.
A beep and buzz from my watch grabs my attention.
I press the button on my watch and a holographic screen pops up.
"What's the emergency?" Cirus asks, getting into the car, strapping herself in.
I finish reading the message. "Do you mind staying with Logan for a few days?"
"As long as I get Mac N' Cheese, anyway, what's the issue?"
"Estelle is missing."
