CJ: "(yawning) How many hours are left?"

CJ is currently standing at a cash register for a burger place and watching people eating their burgers at the tables.

CJ: "(in head) Where's a decent meme when you need it?"

Meanwhile...

Soldier 1: "Call him out and no civilians will be injured!"

Eleven soldiers are standing by outside of a burger place carrying AK-47's and handguns.

Soldier 2: "I-I know, b-but..."

Soldier 3: "If you don't have the guts to fight, then why sign up for the military?"

Soldier 2: "Y-You have no idea what we're fighting against!"

Soldier 4: "You're the only one who's seen a Catalyst and lived to tell the tale!"

Soldier 5: "By flying away like a coward."

Soldier 6: " CJ Marshal!"

Meanwhile...

CJ: "Aw come on!"

CJ knows exactly what is going on.

CJ: "At least there's no Max salt sprinkling down from the sky."

CJ heads for the door.

Customer: "What're you doing?!"

CJ equips his gear.

CJ: "Being an anime character."

CJ walks outside to confront the soldiers.

Soldier 2: "H-He's going to turn us into paste!"

CJ summons his hornets.

CJ: "More like the aftermath of drinking and driving."

The soldiers load their AK-47's and handguns.

Soldier 5: "Really? Just watch us!"

CJ: "You sound confident."

CJ sends the hornets towards the soldiers.

CJ: "Let's see just how long that lasts!"

Combat begins...

Meanwhile...

The woman in the blue outfit and assortment of necklaces is strolling down the streets, the sun as devilish as ever.

Woman: "(sweating) Where's Alphonse when you need him?"

She's only getting some form of cooling off with the wind generated by the cars.

Woman: "(sweating) Where are they?"

Meanwhile...

CJ: "Take this!"

CJ is blocking with his twin blades.

Soldier 7: "You're nothing when you're alone!"

CJ can't activate his Gears of Fate.

CJ: "This is quite the issue."

They have to reload.

CJ: "Nevermind!"

CJ switches to firing navy blue energy at the soldiers, killing three in the process.

Soldier 8: "He's able to switch styles at the drop of the hat."

A soldier stops reloading and fires two handgun bullets at CJ's right wrist.

CJ: "(in pain) That really stings!"

CJ is forced to stop firing as the soldiers finish reloading.

CJ: "(awkwardly) Great."

CJ is forced back on the defensive.

Meanwhile...

Woman: "What was that?! Someone in pain?!"

She had just heard someone yell in pain.

Woman: "Sounded like it came from that way."

She looks to her left as gunshots are now heard.

Woman: "I'd might want to check this out."

She hurries in that direction.

Meanwhile...

CJ: "How many bullets do you guys have?!"

CJ is stuck in a perpetual blocking stance thanks to a combination between bullets and his wrist.

Soldier 1: "Enough!"

CJ: "That doesn't help-"

Awkward moment of silence...

CJ: "Oh..."

CJ can't do anything.

CJ: "Great, well it was nice knowing the world."

A few bullets get past CJ's defenses and get his shins.

Soldier 3: "He's almost done!"

The soldiers begin an advance as CJ ditches the swords and returns to the navy blue energy.

CJ: "(darkly) I'm not done yet."

The soldiers stop.

Soldier 4: "You honestly believe that you're coming out of this?"

Yellow energy hits a soldier's neck, shattering his neck and killing him instantly.

CJ: "(smirking) Yes."

The woman is walking towards the soldiers with a yellow light coming off her right hand and one of the pendants is glowing the same way.

Woman: "What kind of weapon attacks like that?"

She notices CJ as a black aura surrounds her.

Woman: "Those clothes..."

CJ: "(in pain) Relax, we're on the same side Rose."

The soldiers aim at Rose.

Rose: "You know my name?"

CJ: "(in pain) Of course, Dream Thief."

Rose's hands are enveloped in blue energy, blocking the bullets.

Rose: "Whoever you are, I know that I need to be careful around you."

Rose slides under the bullets and uppercuts a soldier so hard, the flesh connecting the neck to his head rips just enough to sort of slit his throat, killing him.

CJ: "(in pain) Let's wrap up here and I'll take you over to Alphonse and Randy."

Rose: "Alphonse and Randy?!"

The soldiers open fire.

CJ: "(in pain) They're at my base with other people like you."

The black aura glows bright.

Rose: "Then I'll hurry!"

They fire navy blue and yellow energy to counter the bullets until they're forced to reload.

CJ/ Rose: "Synergy Attack..."

Soldier 2: "RUN!!!!"

The soldiers begin to make a run for it.

CJ/ Rose: "... Charmer's Doorway!"

CJ continues with the navy blue energy, but Rose fires red energy that goes straight through the soldiers' hearts, causing them to drop to the ground.

Rose: "Hm?"

Rose walks over and picks up on of the handguns to examine it.

CJ: "(in pain) Those are guns. They're like ranged Dream Keys, but with limited ammo."

She drops the gun.

Rose: "So when are we going to your base?"

The people inside the burger place are dumbfounded.

CJ: "(awkwardly) When I'm done with my shift."

CJ begins to walk inside.

Rose: "(sweating) It's got to be cooler inside."

She follows...
